JNTU, Anantapur has released a notification for admissions to Ph.D. programs in various areas of specialisations in its laboratories for executives from various government organizations and the industry. Public servants are also eligible to apply for these programs. The details of the admission procedure and other related information are given in this article.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Executives working in any industry having turnover of at least Rs.5.00 Crore per year with a minimum of 5 years experience, working in a Grade equivalent to that of Assistant Professor cadre or above and at least 55% marks/6.0CGPA in Master's Degree in the concerned discipline are eligible for admission to the PhD program (full-time/part-time) in core/interdisciplinary subject. The industry should give a letter to the candidate sponsoring him/her for a PhD
• Executives with at least 55% marks/6.0CGPA in Master's Degree in the concerned discipline and working in the central and state Government organizations with at least five years of service in a cadre equivalent to that of Assistant Professor cadre or above are eligible for admission to the Ph.D. program (full-time/part-time) in core/interdisciplinary subject.
• Scientists/Scientific Officers working in State/National/International research institutes/Organizations in a senior equivalent to that of an Assistant Professor cadre or above with a minimum of five years of experience and at least 55% marks/6.0CGPA in Master's Degree in the concerned discipline are eligible to register themselves in the PhD (full-time/part-time) program.
• Member of Parliament (M.P) Member of Legislative Assembly (M.L.A) and Member of Legislative Council (M.L.C) with at least 55% marks/6.0CGPA in Master's Degree in the concerned discipline are eligible for admission into Ph.D. (full-time/part-time) program in the core/interdisciplinary area.

JNTU-A Starts Industrial Ph. D for Working People

Anantapur: JNTU Anantapur is inviting applications for the Industrial Ph. D that it is starting for those working in industry, state and central government organisations, scientists, researchers and public servants, including MPs, MLAs and MLCs.

The research can be done either full time or part time.

JNTU-A vice chancellor Prof. G. Ranga Janardhana and Admissions director Prof. R. Kiranmayi said the applicants should have secured minimum 55 per cent or 6.0 CGPA at the master’s level. University will allot a supervisor to the candidates. They can also choose an additional supervisor from their organisation.

The Industrial Ph. D can be done in civil engineering, electrical and electronics engineering, mechanical engineering, electronics and communication engineering, computer science and engineering, chemical engineering, physics, chemistry, mathematics, management, biotechnology, pharmaceutical sciences and food technology.

The Ph. D can be done with all departments of JNTUA, its constituent units and 14 recognised research centres identified by the university.

Interested persons can submit their application with ₹1,500/- DD, along with relevant certificates, to Director of Admissions on or before December 16.

About Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University - JNTUA Anantapur

Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Anantpur (JNTUA) is a State Government University specialising in providing Technical Education. JNTUA was established by the State Government of Andhra Pradesh on 18th August 2008 by an Act of the Legislature of the State of Andhra Pradesh - A.P. Govt. Act No.30 of 2008. The act separated the erstwhile JNTU into four different Universities viz., JNT University Anantapur, JNT University Kakinada, JNT University Hyderabad and JNA&FA University Hyderabad. JNT University Anantapur started functioning from the 155 acre campus of one of its Constituent College at Anantapur, since August 2008. It has been established to develop and nurture a Technical Education System in the four districts of Rayalaseema viz., Anantapur, Chittoor, YSR, Kurnool districts and SPSR Nellore. It is a Multicampus University covering the five districts of Rayalaseema, namely, Anantapur, Chittoor, Kadapa, Kurnool and Potti Sreeramulu Nellore districts. It was also in 2008 that it received autonomous status by the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological Universities Act, 2008. Besides regular courses, the JNTU Anantapur offers part time courses in M.Tech for the employed graduates. The research programs are offered in the fields of Technology, Science, Pharmacy, Management studies and Humanities leading to Ph.D degrees.

Timetables have been released for 2nd and 3rd and 4th year B.Pharm and B.Tech students of JNTU Anantapur for the academic year 2024-2025.

Class work will commence for II-year B.Pharm students from September 23, 2024 and for III-year B.Pharm students from July 29, 2024. For B.Tech students, the classes will commence from July 15, 2024 for II-year students, July 8, 2024 for III-year students and July 29, 2024 for IV-year students.

JNTU Anantapur Regular and Supplementary exams for MCA, M.Sc, M.Tech and M.Pharm courses will be held from July 10 to July 30, 2024. Final date sheets have been released by the JNTUA on its official website.

Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Anantapur (JNTUA), founded in 2008, is one of the three independent universities formed after the division of Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University. Recognized by AICTE, JNTUA offers a diverse range of undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in Sciences, Humanities, Pharmacy, Engineering, Architecture, and Management studies. 

The university comprises multiple campuses located in Anantapur, Ananthapuram (OTPRI), JNTUA - Kalikiri , and JNTUA Pulivendula , along with over 150 affiliated engineering and technical institutions.
