BS in Anthropology here. It is worth it if you enjoy the subject matter and learning about culture as a whole more than you would enjoy a "clear cut" major like a business degree in accounting. It's also worth it if you are fine with being creative about post grad employment and or are planning on graduate school.

Anthropology PhDs generally take longer than other PhDs due to the nature of field research. Just an example, Boston University's Anthro PhDs average 6-7 years, UT averages 5 years . So you get a B.A. in Anthro and decide to stop there. Go look at jobs that specifically require an Anthro degree.

Anthropology isn't a high paying field but it is going to require a MA to actually find any type of employment as an Anthropologist.
