Nicholas Copernicus proposed heliocentric model. It is a model of solar system which is centered on the Sun, with the Earth in motion about the Sun.
According to Copernicus model, the planets revolve around Sun in circular motion. A major flaw in Copernicus's model is that it still had circular orbits for the planets. The actual motion of the planets around the Sun follows elliptical path rather than circular as proposed by Kepler’s law.
