My idol is Hon’ble Sachin Tendulkar and MS Dhoni. In my childhood, I tried to copy their style and always wished to be a good cricket player. As it is rightly said ‘Practice makes a Man Perfect.’ I also believed in it and practised with my school cricket team to become a good cricket player. My endurance and dedication helped me to secure the position of opening batsman for the school cricket team and we are presenting our school at the district-level cricket competition.

The main reason cricket resonates with me is its rich history and traditions. It’s a sport that has been played for centuries, and it carries with it a sense of timelessness. The iconic venues, the legends of the game, and the celebrated rivalries all contribute to the sport’s allure. Whether it’s the Ashes battles between England and Australia or the fervent India-Pakistan contests, cricket has a way of gripping the hearts and minds of fans around the world.

Cricket not only teaches sportsmanship but also helps us learn about teamwork, patience, dedication, etc. My dream is to build a successful cricket career. To accomplish my goals I am planning to take admission in the cricket academy and learn from experts.

Essay on My Favourite Sport Badminton

Among all the indoor and outdoor activities, I love to play badminton the most. Badminton is played as an indoor and outdoor game but traditionally it was an indoor game. It is one of the most admired sports among children and adults. Badminton is my favourite sport because it requires speed, practice, precision, stamina, and accuracy all at the same time.

A player needs to be very attentive while playing badminton. When each stroke of the shuttle makes a ‘whoosh’ sound, it infuses a feeling of competitiveness and enthusiasm to perform extraordinarily against the opponent.

I am a huge admirer of Saina Nehwal and PV Sindhu. Watching them perform makes me feel so proud and more inclined towards the sport. It’s my dream to play a badminton tournament at the National level and win for the country.

Introduction

The rhythmic bouncing of the ball, the swish of the net, and the roar of the crowd – basketball is more than just a game; it’s a symphony of motion and emotion. From the moment I first dribbled a basketball, I knew I had found my passion.

Personal Connection

Basketball became my favorite sport at the age of ten when my father took me to my first professional game. The energy in the arena was electrifying, but what truly captivated me was the excitement and unpredictability of the game. I vividly remember mimicking the players’ moves in my backyard, dreaming of the day I’d make my mark on the court. Over the years, I’ve spent countless hours practicing, playing, and watching basketball.

Benefits and Values

Basketball has taught me invaluable lessons in teamwork and discipline. The sport requires seamless coordination and communication, which have helped me develop a deep sense of camaraderie and trust with my teammates. The rigorous training and practice sessions have instilled a strong work ethic and perseverance in me, shaping not only my physical abilities but also my character.

In conclusion, basketball is more than just a hobby; it is a profound passion that has shaped my life in numerous ways. It has not only kept me physically fit but also taught me valuable life lessons. Whether I am on the court or cheering from the stands, basketball will always hold a special place in my heart.

  • Example 2: My Favorite Sport – Swimming

Diving into the cool, azure blue water and feeling the weightlessness as I glide through the pool is incomparable. Swimming has not only been a source of joy but also a sanctuary and a form of therapy for me.

My love for swimming began when I was a child recovering from an injury. My doctor suggested I take up swimming to aid my rehabilitation. Little did I know that this recommendation would ignite a lifelong passion. The tranquility I found underwater was unparalleled, and it became my escape from the chaos of everyday life.

Swimming offers a wide array of physical and mental benefits. Physically, it is a full-body workout that strengthens muscles, improves cardiovascular health, and enhances flexibility. Mentally, swimming has been my meditative retreat, offering peace and reducing stress. The discipline and dedication required to excel in this sport have also translated into other areas of my life, making me more focused and goal-oriented.

In summary, swimming is more than just a favorite sport; it is an integral part of my life and identity. It has healed, strengthened, and centered me in ways that few other activities could. Every time I dive into the pool, I am reminded of why swimming will always be my favorite sport.

  • Example 3: My Favorite Sport – Soccer

The sound of the ball hitting the back of the net, the crowds chanting in unison, and the thrill of scoring a goal – soccer is a sport that stirs my deepest emotions. My journey with soccer began in my early childhood, and it has since grown into a profound passion.

Soccer became my favorite sport when I joined my school’s team in the third grade. I was initially drawn to the sport because of its fast-paced nature and the excitement it brought to the field. My first goal – a moment of pure elation and pride – solidified my love for soccer. Since then, I have spent countless hours honing my skills, understanding the game, and cherishing every moment on the field.

Soccer has been a tremendous influence on both my personal and professional life. It has taught me the importance of teamwork, as success on the field is often the result of collective effort and coordination. The sport has also instilled a sense of discipline, as the rigorous training schedules require focus and commitment. Additionally, soccer has been a great social connector, allowing me to forge friendships and bonds that transcend the game.

In conclusion, soccer is not just a pastime; it is a passion that has greatly enriched my life. For example, many essays are created on such disciplines as history, philosophy, ethics, marketing, English literature, etc.

If a student wants to succeed in writing essays, he or she must know the rules of research and structuring. Also, a student must be familiar with various types of essays, including admission essays, narrative essays, persuasive essays, discussion essays, explanatory essays, compare & contrast essays, etc. By the way, one can easily find all aspects related to the correct writing of various essay types online. For example, reaching out to CustomWritings.com will also help you find an effective helper who will easily write for you not only any type of essay but also a thesis paper, a speech, a dissertation, etc.

Writing an Essay About A Favourite Rugby Player

Below, you will find tips and hacks that will let you write a great essay about your favorite rugby player. We collected pieces of advice that will ultimately fit any type of essay, from narrative to descriptive. Using our universal tips will let you boost your writing performance and learn to create meaningful and flawless essays. You can also use our pieces of advice when writing papers on other topics.

Start with preparation

The successful process of writing an essay about your favorite rugby player starts with arranging your workplace. Take care about comfort in the zone you will stay in while working on an essay. The table must be situated far from loud noises. For example, if you have roommates or loud family members around, ask them to reduce their activity. If possible, switch the location to a quieter one. Many students work on essays in classrooms, in libraries, co-workings, etc.

Your workplace must be inspiring and free of unnecessary objects like food, glasses, magazines, toys, etc.

Read the instructions

A teacher who has assigned you to write an essay about your favorite rugby player will provide you with manuals. These manuals will contain core requirements for the word count, number of paragraphs, tone of voice, style of formatting (MLA, Chicago, APA), structuring/outlining, referencing, etc.

Following the instructions of a teacher is a basic way to score a good grade. However, more than just completing manuals is required to score the highest grade. For an A-grade essay about your favorite rugby player, you need to choose a non-trivial topic and provide in-depth research.

If, after reading the manuals provided to you by a teacher, you are not sure that you got all the information correctly, ask questions. It would be better to specify all before you start writing an essay.

Formulate a topic

Writing a meaningful and catchy essay about your favorite rugby player requires an author to choose a good topic. Here are several strategies for choosing a topic for a successful essay.

First, you can choose one of the topics suggested for you in the teacher’s manuals. However, most teachers want students to formulate essay topics by themselves to see how they can do it correctly.

The second way to formulate a good topic is to formulate it yourself. For example, when writing a paper about your favorite rugby player, you can describe a part of his biography and approach it creatively.

Third option for those who lack ideas on essay topics if using online title generating tools. These instruments allow you to get several ideas of topics by entering only several keywords.

Remember that choosing an inspiring topic will make it easier for you to write a great paper that will be interesting to your readers.

Collect information

Any essay about sports requires patience when collecting information. The quality of research you provide defines the result of your work. All data must be checked and taken only from trusted books, sites, and other sources. It would be great if you included some fragments of interviews with players. The sources you used must be properly arranged and cited to avoid issues when a teacher checks for plagiarism in your essay.

Generate the main thesis

A successful essay requires an author to generate the core idea. It must be a statement that you will explain in detail and add arguments proving that you are right. The main statement must be highlighted in the introduction of an essay. A correctly formulated thesis statement contains a questionable fact, so readers can relate to the case by agreeing with it or forming their own opinion. The main thesis must be explained in detail in the body of an essay.

Outline and draft

If you lack time before the deadline or want to optimize the process of writing an essay, combine the stages of drafting and structuring. Drafting an essay will let you not only generate several fresh ideas, but also make notes related to sources. A patiently written draft that contains many additional information will help you to structure your thoughts.

Start writing a draft of an essay with an introduction. This part of a draft must provide information about the topic and introduce the main thesis. After you finish drafting and proceed with writing an essay, you will need to add an introduction with some hooks to catch the attention of readers. But in the stage of drafting, it would not be necessary to do so.

To draft the main body of an essay, you need to write down all the statements that support your main thesis. The number of these supporting statements will define the number of paragraphs in your paper. When you add the draft with more information, remember to make sentences and paragraphs cohesive.

The last component of the draft would be a conclusion. An essay should be wrapped up with a clear summary that will repeat the core ideas. This section does not require additional information. However, one can suggest some ideas or topics for other essays.

Edit an essay

After you finish writing an essay and provide all details related to a to[pic, start the stage of editing. Proofreading is a several-stage process that not only reduces grammar mistakes but also requires an author to get rid of punctuation errors, typos, repeated words, etc. Quality editing also requires an author to check all the dates, names, surnames, etc. By spending time to polish your essay patiently, you will avoid problems related to issues that happened because you missed attention.

Essays are popular tasks that teachers use as instruments of estimation of students’ ability to formulate thoughts in a convincing and precise manner. To write a good essay about your favorite rugby player, you must go through the instructions provided by a teacher and follow all the requirements. Choosing a non-trivial topic and a clear formulation will add to your scores as teachers appreciate creativity. After, you need to generate the main thesis highlighting your core idea. By combining the stages of drafting and structuring, you will sufficiently save time. By spending enough time reducing errors and polishing the text, you will raise your chances of scoring a high grade. We wish you good luck!

Powerlifting is One of the Favorite Sports of Weightlifters

Powerlifting, an offshoot of Olympic weightlifting, emphasizes sheer strength more than technique, flexibility, and speed. Developed primarily in the United States and England, powerlifting attracted weightlifters who believed Olympic events placed too much emphasis on technique over raw strength. In 1965, the first national powerlifting championships were hosted by the York Barbell Company and sanctioned by the Amateur Athletic Union. The event took place in York, Pennsylvania. Another milestone occurred in 1971 when the first world powerlifting event was conducted […]

You should say:

  • How you first knew about it
  • How often you practise it
  • And explain why it is your favourite sport.

Sample 1 – Football

I would like to talk about my favorite sport, which is football, the king of sport to everyone in Vietnam.

I first knew about it when I was 15 years old. It was my classmates who invited me to join his football club with other friends in his neighborhood. I had a great time with them, for sure.

I used to play it after school with my friends as it was the only free time I have for the whole day. Nowadays I am pretty busy with my work and study so I had to give up the hobby. But sometimes if I have a long holiday I will arrange a small football match with my old classmates. Those football matches often end with us being in a small restaurant where we drink and chit-chat.

I love this sport for several reasons: First, it helps to improve my physical and mental health. Second, I can also learn teamwork skills which are crucial in all aspects of life. Last but not least, since I started playing this sport, I have made a lot of friends who are now my best playmates.

Sample 2 – Swimming

I would like to talk about my favorite sport, which is swimming.

I first knew about it when I was 10 years old. My mom thought that I should learn to swim at an early age so that I wouldn’t drown in the water. Frankly speaking, I kinda enjoyed the swimming class as I guess I was born with the Water element.

Nowadays, I still keep the habit of going to the swimming pool every Saturday afternoon with my boyfriend who is also a fan of this water sport. Only when I am snowed under a heavy workload do I ever skip a day.

I love this sport for several reasons: First, it helps to keep my body in perfect shape. Second, swimming is a great sport for me to improve my height. Last but not least, since I started this sport, I barely feel stressed or overworked. All in all, I suggest this sport is a must-have pastime for everyone.

Sample 3 – Badminton

I would like to talk about my favorite sport, which is badminton, a popular sport in Vietnam.

I first knew about it when I was 15 years old. My father thought that I was a bit overweight so he forced me to join a badminton training course with his friends. I have to admit that even though I was a bit upset for being made to do something against my will, I soon got into it after only a week.

Unfortunately, these days, as a white-collar, I mostly spend my day in the office and only reach home by 7 p.m. So, I do not have any time for badminton anymore.

Anyway, I still love this sport for several reasons: First, it helped me to lose some weight which led to better health. Second, when I practiced the sport in the sports center near my house, I made plenty of cool friends who supported me a lot in life. Last but not least, after knowing this sport, I would say for sure I could overcome my timidity of being a big size person and make an effort to change my look. All in all, I suggest this sport is a must-have pastime for everyone.

Sample 4 – Taekwondo

I would like to talk about my favorite sport, which is Taekwondo, a kind of martial art from Korea.

I first knew about it when I was 15 years old. My parents thought that I should learn something to defend myself from bullies at school. Also, I was a bit overweight so this was a perfect sport for me. I soon got into it quickly and it has become my most favorite pastime activity even until now when I am 23 years old.

Oftentimes, as I have no classes on Sunday afternoon, I will spend my free time enjoying this sport with other martial artists in a sports club near my house. They are quite helpful in showing me some tactics and effective moves. Sometimes we hold some small matches for fun and have a feast in a small restaurant afterward.

There are several reasons why I am truly in love with Taekwondo. First, thanks to this sport, I could lose some weight and at the moment I have a kind of a fit body. Second, since I started this sport I have hardly catch any common health issues like fever, flu, or cold. Third, my social circle has been getting wider and wider as I have met so many cool mates who come from all walks of life. All in all, I suggest this sport is a must-have pastime to try.

Sample 5 – Running

I would like to talk about my favorite sport, which is running, an easy and free sport to try for everyone.

I only started it a few months ago thanks to my colleagues who are professional runners. I was convinced by how well-shaped they look and how passionate they are about this sport. Therefore, I decided to follow them and try running in the park near my office. Honestly speaking, I fell in love with it pretty quickly after a week though at the beginning I was almost exhausted.

I always reach the park at 5 p.m after work then run around it until 6 p.m. On Saturday when I only work in the morning, I spend more than two hours running in the afternoon and I have to admit that Saturday is the most productive day for me to run. Sometimes when my colleagues can join me in the park, we have a great journey together and share fun office stories during our breaks.

There are several reasons why I am fond of this sport. First, it is a rather cheap and easy sport to try. All we need is a pair of running shoes and a bottle of water. Second, this is a sport that everyone of all age brackets and genders can enjoy, which also brought me some new friends while doing it in the park. They are quite nice and friendly people. Third, since I started this sport I hardly catch any common health issues like fever, flu, or cold. What’s more? I can perform better at work and show higher productivity only after a month of training. I mean I can work for longer hours without feeling tired. All in all, I recommend that everyone try this sport.

The game is played at an incredible speed and is entertaining. It also requires a significant amount of physical exertion and certain strategic abilities. It shouldn't come as a surprise that many individuals like doing it! This activity is not only thrilling to witness, but it also has a rich history that goes back many years. In this post, I am going to talk about my favourite sport, as well as the reasons why I choose it.

I like football because it is both physically and mentally taxing. I can't describe how much I like carrying the ball into the end zone to score a touchdown. In addition to that, I appreciate the mental challenge that comes with playing football strategically.

Football is a game that I've been playing ever since I was a little kid, and I can't think of anything that would make spending my days any more enjoyable than competing in this incredible sport with the people I care about. Even though there is a significant possibility of being hurt while playing this game, I still plan to participate.

In addition to that, I am a member of the football squad for my college. As a player in the midfield, it is my responsibility to take on the opponents' players and help guarantee that my teammates score a goal. and a are two things that are essential for playing football. Every day, our coach has us go through our practice routine. As part of our preparation for the next inter-college championship season, we have been given not just a prescribed diet but also a rigorous fitness regimen to follow.

Since the beginning of the competition, my university has been victorious in a dozen of the games that have been played. We are treated like celebrities at our college because of the honour we bring to the institution. My Favourite Sport Essay in English for Class 4 Students

Essay on my favourite sport for class 4 students.

The Essay on “ My Favourite Sport” has been prepared by our teachers at Vedantu to help kids with their essay about my best friend. These are drafted in a very easy and simple language for you to understand and remember it for a longer time.

During our summer holidays, we even went to summer camp together to learn cricket and made a lot of memories. Moreover, we also invented new and our own handshake which only we both knew. This bonding between us has taught me that family doesn’t end with blood because my best friend is no less than my family.

Last year, in summer we both went with his parents to watch a cricket match on the ground. From then, we both started liking it and decided to go and learn the sport together. Cricket is a very interesting sport and it has a lot of advantages to it. During the holidays we went to learn for 6 hours a day and learnt that we need to be good at both bowling and batting. Initially, we were taught how to hold the ball and catches. They focused more on running as Feilding is also necessary for Cricket. Our sports academy has many learners, we divide ourselves into a group and play matches every Sunday.

All these are making our bonding even more stronger. We always wait for holidays to play with each other and remain friends.

Introduction

Association football, further generally known as football or soccer, doesn't have a classical history. Notwithstanding any parallels to other ball games played around the world, FIFA has recognised that no literal connection exists with any game played in age outside Europe.

The ultramodern rules of association football are grounded on the mid-19th century standards to standardise the extensively varying forms of football played in the public seminaries of England.

The ultramodern game of association football began with mid-nineteenth century sweats between original football clubs to regularize the varying sets of rules, climaxing in the conformation of The Football Association in London, England in 1863.

The rules drafted by the association allowed clubs to play with each other without disagreement and specifically banned both running off the ball (except by goalkeepers) and hacking during open field play.

After the fifth meeting of the association, a schism surfaced between association football and the rules played by the Rugby academy, latterly to be called rugby football. Football has been an Olympic sport ever since the alternate ultramodern Summer Olympic Games in 1900.

FAQs on My Favourite Sport Essay in English for Class 4 Students

1. Why is Football a Famous Sport?

Football is the world’s most popular ball game in the figures of actors and observers. Simple in its top rules and essential outfit, the sport can be played nearly anywhere, from sanctioned football playing fields ( pitches) to gyms, thoroughfares, academy playgrounds, premises, or strands. Football’s board, the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), estimated that at the turn of the 21st century there were around about 250 million football players and over1.3 billion people “ interested” in football; in 2010 a combined TV followership of further than 26 billion watched football’s premier event, the quadrennial month-long World Cup tests.

2. Explain the football crisis and how it happened?

The matter of professionalism outstretched an extremity in England in 1884, when the FA expelled two clubs for using professional players. Still, the payment of players had come so commonplacely that the FA had little option but to permit the practice a time later, despite original attempts to circumscribe professionalism to remitments for broken time. The consequence was that northern clubs, with their large supporter bases and capacity to attract better players, came to elevation. As the influence of working-class players rose in football, the upper classes took retreat in other sports, especially the justice and rugby union. Professionalism also sparked further modernization of the game through the establishment of the Football League, which allowed the commanding dozen brigades from the North and Midlands to contend totally against each other from 1888 onward. A lower, alternate division was introduced in 1893, and the total number of brigades increased to 28. The Irish and Scots established leagues in 1890. The Southern League began in 1894 but was engaged by the Football League in 1920. Yet football didn't become a major profit-making business during this period. Professional clubs came from limited liability companies primarily to secure land for gradational development of colosseum installations. Most clubs in England were possessed and controlled by businessmen but shareholders entered veritably low, if any, tips; their main price was an enhanced public status through running the original club.

3. Describe the role of the International Organisation in Football?

By the first 20 th century, football had spread across Europe, but it had needed cross-border association. A result was planted in 1904 when representatives from the football associations of Belgium, Denmark, France, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland innovated the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA).

Nonetheless, in 1920 the British associations abnegated their FIFA enrollments after failing to convince other members that Germany, Austria, and Hungary should be expelled following World War I. The British associations replied to FIFA in 1924 but soon after claimed upon a veritably rigid description of dilettantism, especially for Olympic football.

4. Explain the regional tradition of Europe in Football?

Numerous Scottish professional players migrated south to join English clubs, introducing English players and cults to the more-advanced ball-playing chops and the benefits of cooperation and end. Till World War II, the British pursued to impact football’s development through daily club tenures overseas and the Continental accompanied careers of former players. Itinerant Scots were especially prominent in central Europe. The interwar Danubian academy of football surfaced from the coaching patrimonies and moxie of John Madden in Prague and Jimmy Hogan in Austria.

5. What are the strategy and tactics of Football?

Use of the bases and (to a lower extent) the legs to control and pass the ball is football’s most introductory skill. Heading the ball is particularly prominent when entering long upstanding passes. Since the game’s origins, players have displayed their chops by going on “ single runs” or dribbling the ball past outsmarted opponents. But football is a platoon game grounded on passing between platoon members. The introductory playing styles and chops of individual players reflect their separate playing positions. Goalkeepers bear dexterity and height to reach and block the ball when opponents shoot at things. Central defenders need to challenge the direct attacking play of opponents; called upon to win tackles and to go the ball down from pitfall analogous as when defending corner kicks, they are generally big and strong.

Fullbacks are generally lower but hastily, rates needed to match speedy sect-forwards. Midfield players ( also called halves or halfbacks) operate across the centre of the sector and should have a variety of rates important “ ball- winners” got to be “ good in the attack” in terms of winning or guarding the ball and energetic runners; creative “ playmakers” develop scoring chances through their gift at holding the ball and through the accurate end.

Wingers tend to have good speed, some dribbling chops, and the capability to make crossing passes that travel across the front of things and give scoring openings for forwards. One can be important in the air or small and penetrative with quick footwork; basically, they should be complete at scoring pretensions from any angle.

The British Have Finally Learned to Love Peanut Butter

The land of Marmite and jam is finally embracing America’s favorite spread, with dozens of varieties on supermarket shelves.

A woman holds a jar of ManiLife peanut butter in a British grocery store in front of an array of other jars of peanut butter.

By Charlotte Lytton

Reporting from London

When the American political commentator and noted peanut butter lover William F. Buckley Jr. arrived at an English boarding school in the late 1930s, care packages from home would include jars of peanut butter, which his British peers, he later wrote, “one after another actually spit out.”

The travel writer Rick Steves once recalled that for his first visit to Europe, in 1973, he packed a big plastic tube with what he knew couldn’t be found there: “a swirl of peanut butter and strawberry jam.”

But over the last decade, Britain and many other corners of Europe have come around. Perched between the jams and marmalades at Waitrose , a popular British grocery chain, there are now 35 varieties of peanut butter — creamy and chunky, sweet and salty and extra-dark roasted, crammed into jars, squeeze bottles and two-pound tubs.

In cities across the United Kingdom, peanut butter appears in shortbread form at Hawksmoor , a high-end steak chain; in a tart at the Greek chain Gaia , and sandwiched among 20 tiers of chocolate and mascarpone in a viral layer cake at Lavo , an Italian restaurant in affluent Mayfair. Peanut butter — or as Jon Krampner, the author of “ Creamy and Crunchy: An Informal History of Peanut Butter ,” calls it, the “all-American spread” — has well and truly landed across the Atlantic.

Britain is not the first European nation to take up the sticky baton — the Netherlands outpaces even the United States in peanut butter consumption, according to Mr. Krampner. Yet it is the most recent European country where the product has taken off, with sales skyrocketing in Britain over the last half-decade as it’s popped up in brownies, bakes and burger relishes and as a topping for curries and crumpets.
