Faculty members in our college are great. All teachers have deep knowledge. They all are reachable and helpful. I am satisfied with their teaching style. Because I am Japanese and education style is different from the Japanese one. I feel happy to learn in India. I had zero knowledge about psychology before starting the course, but now I have learnt a lot. I think I will be ready to become a counsellor by the time I graduate.

Christ University: 84 Answered Questions

Which college is the best for bba between symbiosis, nmims and christ university.

According to me, Christ University is the best option. Being a student of this university, I would like to say that Christ has fulfilled all the expectations that I had. At Christ, you will get an overview of the various aspects of business management. This two-year degree will help you to be knowledgeable about accountancy, finance and commerce. You will learn how business operates in the real world. Our university has some of the best faculty who continuously guide you throughout the course. Also, be prepared to solve lots of case studies. Study hard and try to gain practical knowledge as you will be tested rigorously during the midterms. The campus life is awesome at Christ. There is always some fest going on the campus and you can join any of the multiple clubs that are present or create a club of your own.

How is the MBA program at Christ University Bangalore ?

Christ University doesn’t have a good faculty base for an MBA. The MBA coursework is constructed poorly. Throughout the course, students are under pressure to complete their CIA, assignments, etc. The scope for hands-on learning is limited.

It has a huge student intake. There are around 400 students in each batch. Christ University MBA placements are average at best. The 2022 placement concluded with the highest CTC of INR 20 LPA.

Is Christ University, Bangalore, a good option for B.Tech?

Neerendra Singh

Although Christ University has a huge reputation nation-wide, it is mainly known for its management and undergraduate programs.

I decided to pursue my B.Tech from Christ, but I found out that this institution is not the best option in Bangalore for engineering studies. After a lot of research and consultation with my friends, I have curated a list of good engineering colleges in Bangalore which you can consider for your B.Tech.

Here is the list-

  • MS Ramaiah Institute of Technology
  • BMS College of Engineering
  • International Institute of Information Technology (Bangalore)
  • PES University
  • RV College of Engineering

Christ is well known in the industry, but it does not have any standing in the job market for engineering courses. It offers average level B.Tech courses. Thus, I would recommend you consider other good engineering colleges in Bangalore for a B.Tech instead of opting for Christ.

How is the BSc course at Christ University, Bangalore?

I am a BSc. student at Christ University. My experience of pursuing this course at Christ has been a mixed bag.

The faculty for BSc. at Christ is average at best, and the facilities offered to students are not up to the mark. One can approach the respective subject teacher if one wishes to study and research in that particular field.

Some events organized by the university which are related to this field, are quite good in all honesty. Another thing is that Christ University imposes a lot of rules and regulations on students, which can be very burdensome at times.

Overall, Christ University offers a decent BSc. program, and you can opt for the same if you do not come across better options.

How is the B.Com with the CA program in Christ University, Bangalore?

The B.Com with CA program offered by Christ University, Bangalore is a good course. But the course work is heavy and the institute has strict rules in place regarding attendance.

For their B.Com Finance and Accountancy program, Christ University provides a Chartered Accountant program support and curriculum. Through this program, you will be familiarized with subjects like Accountancy, Company Law, Commercial Law, Taxations, Cost and Management Accounting, etc.

The coursework is designed in a way that your CA foundations will be cleared during the first year. During second year, you will learn about the intermediate level of CA. During your final year, you will undergo an article-ship. The university also offers professional training for 180 days during 5th and 6th semesters. This program has continuous internal assessments through poster making, reviews, essay writing, etc.

Christ University, Bangalore offers good placements for the program. Axxela, Bain capability network, Boston consulting group are the major recruiters for B.Com and CA program. Students usually receive an average CTC of around INR 5.7 LPA.

What is the difference between a BBA and BBA (Honours) at Christ University?

In terms of syllabus and curriculum, the BBA (Hons) offered by Christ University is better. Most MNCs prefer BBA (Hons) to BBA. This course is ideal for students who want to go abroad after graduation. The BBA (Hons) degree has many options for credit transfer as well.

Other than these there is no such big difference between the two degrees. Both will offer you good exposure and opportunities.

What is the difference between BBA and BBA (Finance and international business) courses at Christ University?

Christ University offers decent BBA programs to the students. First of all, let's discuss some of the important aspects of the BBA courses offered by Christ University.

BBA (Finance and International Business)-

Fundamentals:

  • To provide students with the understanding of doing business internationally while also adding a blend of entrepreneurship.
  • To increase the awareness and broaden the understanding of students regarding challenges in a global economy.

Career Prospects:

  • By the completion of this course, you will have an in-depth knowledge of the ins and outs of doing business internationally while also adding a blend of entrepreneurship.
  • This would intrigue their interest in global financial markets and also in the global economy.
  • This course gives you a plethora of opportunities to learn about various aspects of international business and also has an edge as it provides a more concentrated and in-depth study of the subject matter.
  • This particular program has a deep acquaintance for students looking to pursue higher education in India or abroad. Students here have a choice to complete the first two years of their foreign degree program at Christ in Bangalore, India and then they can proceed to finish the remaining years of their studies at the affiliated foreign universities.
  • The BBA program offers students the opportunity to pursue interdisciplinary learning through various electives from many streams such as Economics, Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Law, Media Studies, Hotel Management, and Computer Applications.
  • This course aims at the holistic development of the students, the Department facilitates participation in various national and international fests.
  • This course conducts a wide variety of curricular and co-curricular activities on a regular basis to enhance the entire scholastic development of the students. Social responsibility is a thrust area and therefore, students are encouraged to participate in community development initiatives.

Objectives:

  • To provide high-quality professional education to management students.
  • To prepare students to meet the managerial challenges of the 21st century.
  • To focus on the holistic development of the student with conceptual clarity, analytical ability, critical thinking, and communication skills.
  • To prepare young minds with a positive attitude for excellent performance and committed service.
  • To facilitate the entrepreneurial journey of students by providing them with the breadth and depth of knowledge required to start a business.
  • To develop management professionals who are able to leverage theoretical knowledge to design sustainable solutions to real-world problems.

However, looking at the description of the above courses, it has been observed that BBA (Finance and International Business) has a much wider scope than BBA.

How is law at Christ University?

Christ University is a good option for pursuing Law degrees. It has a dedicated law faculty. The student crowd is great. You will get to meet many talented students.

Every Friday, there are extra-curricular activities like group discussion, debate, and extempore. Intra moot courts are organized frequently. Christ also organizes National Moot Court every year. Almost all the top Law schools participate in it.

Various law firms, corporate houses, NGOs, LPOs recruit from the university. Justice & Care Bangalore,  Adlaw Partners, GMR Infrastructure Ltd. are some of the major recruiters from Christ University Law placements over the last few years.

For a Master’s of Computer Applications (MCA), is NMIMS, Mumbai better or Christ University, Bangalore?

Background does not matter much. It is a subjective question as it depends on many factors and the factors may or may not align with one’s goals and preferences. For MCA Christ has an edge over NMIMS. If you are okay with some strict rules and dress codes then for sure Christ is a better choice.

Should I do a BBA from Christ University or IBS hyderabad?

Sachin Gupta

It’s your attitude towards learning that matters more than the college itself. Yet if I have to comment on the two colleges, I would say Christ University is a fairly good choice. The main reasons are

  • The fest culture makes you come out of your comfort zones and test your limits and diversify your talents.
  • The overqualified rules set by the college increase your patience level ten folds
  • You get to live in Bangalore, the city of innumerable opportunities and dreams.

However, if you are joining the college with the mindset of being taught then you need to rectify it. Here it’s you who has to force yourself to learn no one is going to push you. Anyone who wants to learn about business, in reality, will not be able to gain much from this B School. The B School churns out managers only. Rarely does it give birth to a business owner or entrepreneur despite the university’s module for entrepreneurship in a semester.

American Psychological Association (APA) Accreditation – APA only accredits doctoral level programs in psychology. Since our program is a Masters level degree APA does not accredit us.

The program emphasizes mentoring and individual attention from faculty and staff in an environment that facilitates development of a cohesive and supportive community. We continue to support students in their career journey after Vanguard and maintain alumni groups and resources .

Upon completion of the MS in Clinical Psychology  program, you will be prepared to:

  • Core Knowledge of Psychotherapy.  Apply fundamental knowledge within the field of clinical psychology and psychotherapy to the treatment of individuals, families and groups.
  • Diversity.  Demonstrate and apply cultural competency and sensitivity in the psychotherapeutic process.
  • Integration of Faith.  Demonstrate and apply the integration of faith in the psychotherapeutic process.
  • Clinical Skills.  Demonstrate effective clinical techniques within a therapeutic relationship.
  • Communication.  Demonstrate effective written and oral communication skills as it specifically pertains to the field of psychotherapy.
  • Professional/Personal Qualities.  Develop the professional and personal qualities that are intimately related to effective psychotherapy, including competence, acceptance, curiosity, caring, integrity, sensitivity, flexibility, insight, compassion, and personal presence.

Whether you’re studying on campus or online, our MS in Clinical Psychology is designed with the purpose of providing you with personalized attention. Both track schedules are convenient for working professionals with tracks varying from two to four years, and courses are offered in the late afternoon and evening. You’ll greatly benefit from our small class sizes which average 12 students.

In addition, you will have opportunities to connect and network with classmates, faculty and staff outside of class time. We offer an environment that facilitates the development of an inclusive and supportive community—giving you a strong support system and sense of community throughout your studies.

Online Track

Our online Master’s in Clinical Psychology program is available for residents of the state of California. Most courses are eight weeks long. Learning online will give you the best of both worlds—flexible online coursework and live class time with other students and faculty on a weekly basis.

On Campus Track

Our on-campus program offers 16-week courses on our Santa Ana Campus. Learning in person provides ongoing interaction with your faculty and classmates, and allows for spontaneous discussions, meals together, and making connections in between classes.

What Will My Class Schedule Look Like?

The 3-year track is the most popular with our students and consists of 7.5-10 units per semester, in both the afternoon and evening. For all track options and sample schedules, see our Sample Curriculum Schedules page .

At Vanguard University, you will experience personalized instruction paired with a strong spiritual foundation that fosters knowledge, cultivates character and deepens faith. Our Christian professor-mentors will prepare you to make meaningful contributions in your profession and community, equipping you to lead a Spirit-empowered life of Christ-centered leadership and service.

Get Started at VU

My favorite part of the clinical psychology degree program was the small class sizes; you get to have a close relationship with your professors and peers. Wherever you see yourself in the mental health field, Vanguard will prepare you for the journey. And if you’re looking for integration of faith in the classroom, this is the program for you. Now in private practice—not too far from campus—I am constantly being reminded of lessons and clinical skills that I learned at Vanguard.

Essays and Statements

Personal statement instructions.

Please prepare approximately 2-3 pages of typewritten, double-spaced autobiographical material which will be considered confidential. Please be aware that the review committees may contain graduate student representatives. Indicate the source of your interest in psychology and the reasons why you wish to pursue graduate studies in your chosen area of specialization. If you have had practical experience (work or volunteer) in psychology, please describe it. If you have been in another area of academic study or employment, discuss your change. When and how was your attention directed to our graduate program? Indicate how the specific features of our training program would facilitate your professional goals.  In your autobiographical statement, please state which faculty member(s) you would like to do your research with. Explain why the faculty’s research interests represent a match with your own training goals and your career plans. Please type the name(s) of your proposed mentor(s) on a separate line at the end of your autobiographical statement so as to facilitate screening. Mentors can be from any program. So, for example, clinical child applicants may list a faculty mentor that is not a member of the clinical child faculty. If there is one person you are primarily interested in, name one; if there are two who you are interested in, name two. There is no advantage to naming just one person or naming two people. What is important is the rationale for your choice.

Diversity Statement Instructions

The University of Denver values diversity, equity, and inclusion, recognizing that its success is dependent on how well it values, engages, and includes the rich diversity of constituents. Diversity is defined broadly. Applicants are required to include an essay (maximum of one-page, double spaced) describing how their educational, professional, clinical, or personal (e.g. cultural, economic or social) experiences prepare them to contribute to diversity, equity, and inclusion during their graduate career at DU. Contributions to diversity, equity, and inclusion may come in the form of research topic, research population, clinical work (if applicable), professional service, personal perspective, and more. To learn more about diversity, equity, and inclusion at the University of Denver, please visit https://www.du.edu/equity .

The rumor that “you can't do anything with just a bachelor’s degree in psychology” is outdated. The truth is that the skills emphasized in the psychology curriculum at CU Denver generalize well to almost any career –and psychology majors can pursue just about every career pathway.

Psychology is the scientific study of behavior and mental processes. Students at CU Denver can focus on any of the major psychology sub-disciplines: including human development and behavior, animal behavior, behavioral neuroscience, cognition, social interactions, industrial/organizational, and psychological disorders and treatment.

Those who seek post-graduate degrees are prepared for research-oriented, clinical, or applied psychology fields of study – as well as degrees in other fields like medicine or law. Psychology is considered a “hub science,” that supplies a firm foundation for success in professions like advertising, business, teaching, entertainment, and many others.

Why BA Psychology at CU Denver?

Useful curriculum.

The core skills emphasized in the undergraduate Psychology curriculum overlap with the traits listed as most desirable in new employees by the National Association of Colleges and Employers. These include the ability to solve problems effectively, think critically, communicate, collaborate with others, and act ethically and professionally. Psychology majors also learn scientific literacy, research, and statistical skills that are also attractive to a range of employers, both in and outside of psychology.

Our faculty includes widely cited experts in their scientific fields. Faculty strive to use best pedagogical practices when teaching. We provide rich curricular opportunities such as internships, independent studies and research projects. We have a chapter of Psi Chi, the international academic honor society in Psychology.

Being situated in the Denver region provides students with easy access to many Psychology and Psychology-related organizations, such as mental health facilities, health care facilities, schools, research laboratories, and the diverse set of businesses and companies in the city.

Health, Brain, and Cognition Lab

Michelle Voss and Kelsey Baller

Michelle Voss and Kelsey Baller

Washington University graduate psychology program next step for HBC research associate Kelsey Baller

Kelsey Baller, a post-baccalaureate research associate at the Health, Brain & Cognition Lab for the past three years, moved to St. Louis in August to begin a PhD program in Clinical Psychology at Washington University.

She is excited to join the lab of Dr. Denise Head to continue her research as a graduate student. Professor Head, associate chair  in the  Department of Psychological & Brain Sciences and associate professor in radiology at Washington University, studies age-related cognitive changes and their relations with brain structure. Kelsey, whose own research interest is modifiable lifestyle factors that can slow or prevent cognitive decline, was already familiar with Dr. Head’s work, having modified a cognitive computer task her lab designed for the HBC Lab’s BIKE Extend study.

“I knew it well from having administered and scored it many times,” she says.

Referencing that experience helped make her application to Wash U’s graduate psychology program stand out, Kelsey says. She anticipates the prior connection will help her fit in quickly in her new research position.  “It will be perfect,” she says. “Dr. Head does very similar things to our lab.”

HBC Lab Director Dr. Michelle Voss has high praise for Kelsey and is thrilled to see her join Dr. Head’s lab. “Over the past three years Kelsey has immersed herself in our research, learning all the steps from developing a project, running sessions with participants, data analysis, and sharing her work in posters and papers,” says Michelle. “She's been a core team member and mentor in our projects. Although we'll miss her dearly, I couldn't be more excited for her to join Dr. Denise Head's lab, who is a great mentor and leading lab in our field.”

An experience last fall also helped steer Kelsey’s choice of graduate programs. Spurred by her interest in social determinants of health, she attended a conference, titled “ Enhancing Participation by Minoritized Groups in Alzheimer Disease and Related Dementia Research ,” sponsored by the Knight Alzheimer Disease Research Center at Wash U last October.

“It’s a very pretty campus. I didn’t know St. Louis was so gorgeous,” she says of her first impression. “I thought I could see myself living there and I decided to look into the program.”

As for the conference, “It gave me  ideas on how we can better understand why we aren’t reaching certain communities.”

The event inspired Kelsey and fellow post-bacc research associate Megan Hilliard, who also attended, to develop a community survey to identify reasons minoritized populations, including people who identify as Black and/or Hispanic, are underrepresented in HBC Lab studies. Lab team members will take the survey into the community at farmers markets and other events in coming months.

As she looks back on her HBC lab tenure, Kelsey counts attending conferences, polishing her writing and coding skills, and working directly with research study participants as some of her most important takeaways.

What will she miss?

“So many things,” she says. “One of my favorite parts has been seeing the different people come and go from the lab. I have seen grad students defend their dissertations. Seeing them achieve their goals has been awesome. It gives me a sense of what’s next, something to look forward to when I do that.”

She’ll also miss “some of newer things we started doing” such as helping teach the “Outlive” book club class at the Iowa City Senior Center classes. “I loved participating in those.”

Leaving Iowa City also pulls at her heartstrings. “I’ve been here for a good chunk of my life. I did my undergrad here as well (BS in psychology with a minor in Spanish).  I love being able to walk around and have everything at my fingertips. I will miss the close-knit feel within the slightly larger place.”

Kelsey’s sights are set on a career in neuropsychology. “My dream job is working at an academic medical center in a hospital setting, with older adults, a neuropsych clinical position with the opportunity to help out in a research lab.”

She’ll carry with her the example of HBC Lab Director Michelle Voss, her mentor of the past three years. “She can answer any question no matter how poorly phrased. She finds a way to answer without making you feel bad. She’s always really great at making people feel good. It’s a strong skill I hope I can take with me.”

“If you come to her with a goal, she will exhaust all the resources she can find and help you find a way. That’s ultimately what she ended up doing with me. I’m going to grad school!”

Dr. Voss says she was glad to advise, but ultimately “Kelsey's persistence was key to pushing forward from these conversations into action and progress.”
