About the role.

As a CRA you will be joining the world’s largest & most comprehensive clinical research organization, powered by healthcare intelligence.

What will you be doing?

  • Works on multiple trials within Oncology 
  • Quality of life focus wtih Regional Travel
  • Demonstrated leadership, through involvement in specific initiatives when needed, and/or SME to systems and/or processes • Mentors/coaches junior flex team
  • Acts as Lead SM-training other SMs on study
  • Develops site start up documents for studies including SIV agenda
  • Provides SM “voice” when reviewing study documents (e.g. Monitoring Guidelines)
  • Represents LTMs or SMs on SMTs/meetings 
  • Takes over LTM role reports review (SQV, SMV, SCV) for sites assigned to other SMs from the same trial
  • Supports country budget development and/or contract negotiation in liaison with CCS colleagues
  • Assists with ASV
  • Metrics/KPIs: Metrics/KPIs governing these services are outlined in the Quality Oversight Plan (QOP) document.

Interfaces – Primary/Other:

  • Primary interfaces: Provider Functional Manager, Clinical Trial Assistant, Local Trial Manager and Central Study Team for assigned clinical trials.
  • Other Interfaces: Study Responsible Physician, Regional Quality and Compliance. Manager/Specialist, Local Drug Safety Officer (where required) and Site Manager team; Investigators and their delegates at site (trial personnel including study coordinators, pharmacists, etc.)

  • Have a minimum of a B.S., R.N., or equivalent degree, preferably in Biological Sciences
  • Must be located in MI near a major airport 
  • Have a minimum of 1-3 years’ experience in monitoring pharmaceutical industry clinical trials
  • Have a minimum of 1-3  years' experience monitoring Oncology trials
  • Knowledge of several therapeutic areas
  • Analytical/risk-based monitoring experience is an asset
  • Ability to actively drive patient recruitment strategies at assigned sites
  • Ability to partner closely with investigator and site staff to meet all of our study timelines
  • Ability to operate and use various systems and databases (e.g. CTMS, EDC, eTMF, various dashboards/metrics, IWRS, safety reporting).
  • Possess strong communication and influencing skills to effectively manage study sites both remotely and face to face.  Strong team member and self-starter with the ability to work independently.
  • Have an in-depth knowledge of Good Clinical Practice, ICH guidelines and local regulatory requirements.
  • Need to travel up to 50%

The Stanford University Anesthesiology Department is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator Associate (Fixed-term 2 years) to help conduct and coordinate research studies on older surgical patients. These studies include a focus on relationships between postoperative delirium/confusion/dementia, intraoperative brain EEG responses to anesthetics, and both CSF and neuroimaging biomarkers.   The coordinator will work under the supervision of Dr Miles Berger in the multispecialty division (neuroanesthesiology section), and will help enroll patients and will be taught how to process biofluid samples, how to perform EEG recordings, and how to conduct functional MRI scans on study patients. Work under close direction of the principal investigator and/or study coordinator/supervisor. Excellent position for those taking 2 or more gap years before applying to medical school, graduate school or MD/PhD programs.

Duties include:

  • Serve as primary contact with research participants, sponsors, and regulatory agencies.   Coordinate studies from startup through close-out.
  • Determine eligibility of and gather consent from study participants according to protocol.   Assist in developing recruitment strategies.
  • Coordinate collection of study specimens and processing.
  • Collect and manage patient and laboratory data for clinical research projects.   Manage research project databases, develop flow sheets and other study related documents, and complete study documents/case report forms.
  • Ensure compliance with research protocols, and review and audit case report forms for completion and accuracy with source documents.   Prepare regulatory submissions, and ensure institutional Review Board renewals are completed.
  • Assemble study kits for study visits, monitor scheduling of procedures and charges, coordinate documents, and attend monitoring meetings with sponsors, acting as primary contact.
  • Monitor expenditures and adherence to study budgets and resolve billing issues in collaboration with finance and/or management staff.
  • Interact with the principal investigator regularly, ensuring patient safety and adherence to proper study conduct.
  • Ensure essential documentation and recording of patient and research data in appropriate files per institutional and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in monitor visits and regulatory audits.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

As described below, plus comfortable working in the Operating Room Environment, and with older surgical patients. Outstanding organizational skills, highly conscientious, and high level of attention to detail.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED):

Two year college degree and two years related work experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of related education and relevant experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (REQUIRED):

  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.

CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSES:

Society of Clinical Research Associates or Association of Clinical Research Professionals certification is preferred. 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:

  • Frequently stand, walk, twist, bend, stoop, squat and use fine light/fine grasping.
  • Occasionally sit, reach above shoulders, perform desk based computer tasks, use a telephone and write by hand, lift, carry, push, and pull objects that weigh up to 40 pounds.
  • Rarely kneel, crawl, climb ladders, grasp forcefully, sort and file paperwork or parts, rarely lift, carry, push, and pull objects that weigh 40 pounds or more.
