Qualitative Research in Digital Era: Innovations, Methodologies and Collaborations
Social Sciences
The differentiation of contemporary approaches to qualitative data analysis can seem daunting even for experienced social science researchers. Especially when they move forward in the data analysis process from general analytical strategies used in qualitative research to more specific approaches for different types of qualitative data, including interviews, text, audio, images, videos, and so-called virtual data, by discovering the domain ontology of the qualitative research field, we see that there are more than twice as many different classes of data analysis methods as qualitative research methods. This article critically reflects on qualitative research and the qualitative computer data analysis process, emphasising its significance in harnessing digital opportunities and shaping collaborative work. Using our extensive analytical and research project experience, the last research results, and a literature review, we try to show the impact of new technologies and digital possibi...

Opening to modern technologies in computer-based qualitative data analysis shapes our interpretation frameworks and changes the optics and perception of research problems. Discover the...
Qualitative research, broadly defined, means “any kind of research that produces findings not arrived at by means of statistical procedures or other means of quantification” (Strauss and Corbin, 1990, p. 17).
This qualitative study explored digital technologies that promote educational experiences and achievements of culturally diverse learners via interviews with 46 culturally and linguistically diverse students across different academic programs.
The article closes with a look at the implications of emerging issues, such as the trend to cloud computing, the proliferation of mobile devices, and the maturation of voice recognition software. Keywords: Computer-assisted, qualitative, viral sampling, voice recognition, ethics, information management, CAQDA, NVivo.
As the backbone of digital qualitative research, CAQDAS symbolises the seamless marriage of technology with traditional research methodologies, ensuring precise and streamlined outcomes. Beyond tools, the digital era introduces new paradigms of managing information.
Qualitative Research. Defining and Designing. The qualitative research methods introduced in this book are often employed to answer the whys and hows of human behavior, opinion, and experience— information that is difficult to obtain through more quantitatively-oriented methods of data collection.
qualitative research (e.g., critical ethnography, discursive psychology, participatory action research, etc.) (Yin, 2016, p. 66). In the broadest sense, research design involves determining how to frame and ground a given study (i.e., the methodology) and identifying how to carry out the study (methods).
ponents of the design cycle. In Chapter 3, we outline the design of qualitative research questions and objectives and describe how to summarize theory, literature and the research questi. n in a conceptual framework. We then discuss the selection of research methods an.
As society transforms and is transformed by new technology, so there are new ways in which qualitative researchers collect and analyse data and new forms of data to collect.
