1. Instructional Videos and Product Demos

Want to teach your audience something valuable? Or do you have followers hitting up your DMs with questions about how to use your product? Create a Facebook Slideshow and educate your audience in a fun, engaging way .

You can use slideshows to:

  • Demonstrate how to do hashtag research on Instagram
  • Remove photobombers from your photos with Photoshop
  • Cook by delicious chocolate chip cookies (step-by-step)

Let your imagination run wild!

2. Tell a Story

Take your audience on a visual adventure.

Use your ten slides to craft:

  • An uplifting and motivating story
  • A recap of a notable news story
  • Or a way to educate your audience (e.g. how to use less plastic)

3. Create a Collection

With 2020 well underway, year-end re-caps are coming to an Instagram feed near you.

Use the Slideshow feature to create a collection and show off your top moments of the year for your brand.

4. Tease a New Product

Want your audience to shiver with antici…pation for your new product?

Facebook Slideshow allows you to give your followers a sneak-peak.

You can tease:

  • Behind the scenes photoshoots
  • Production process
  • Detail shots of the product

Creating a Facebook Slideshow is SUPER easy.

You don’t need to worry about calling the IT guy in a panic or punching your computer screen.

Simply log in to Facebook on your desktop (you can’t create slideshows on the app) and head straight to your FB page.

Go to the status update section, click on the “Photo/Video” button and select “Create a Slideshow”.

What did I tell you? As easy as pie.

After selecting the “Create a Slideshow” button, a new settings tab will appear.

Here, you can make decisions about the technical elements of your video.

Don’t worry too much about perfecting these settings in the beginning. You can always change them before hitting publish on your slideshow.

Here’s what each of the settings mean:

  • Aspect Ratio: The size of your video. You can choose from Square (1:1), Rectangle (16:9), and Vertical (2:3).
  • Image Duration: The number of seconds each image in your slideshow will stay on the screen.
  • Transition: Add a fading to your effect to your images or choose to have no transition.

how-to-add-music-to-your-facebook-slideshow

In the same Settings window, there is a second tab called Music.

It’s the best and worst part of creating a slideshow.

You can instantly add a vibe to your content and make sure it grabs peoples attention.

The downside?

All the cool music is copyrighted.

Curse you, Universal!

Luckily, Facebook gives you the option to choose from a selection of royalty-free music (or you can upload your own).

All of the songs are split up into different categories to help you find the best option for your video:

  • Inspirational
  • Trustworthy

It isn’t Beyonce’s “Single Ladies”, but there are more than enough options to find the right mood for your video.

Now it’s time for the fun part – adding your images!

To create a slideshow on Facebook, you need a minimum of three images and a maximum of ten.

Click on the “Add Photos” button and select images from:

  • Your desktop
  • Your timeline
  • Take a photo with your webcam

IMPORTANT: Upload the photos in the order you want them to appear on the slideshow. Facebook does not give you the option to rearrange the order of your selection.

Now that you’ve uploaded your images, you can fine-tune your Facebook Slideshow.

Click on the play button to preview your video.

Not happy with the music? Or feel like your image duration is off? Now’s the time to adjust your settings.

Remember, you can’t edit your slideshow after publishing it. Spend as much time as you need to perfect it.

Once you’re confident with all your creative choices, click on the “Create Slideshow” button.

A new screen will load, and you’ll be prompted to fill in a title and description for your video.

Don’t slack off here.

Use your wordsmith skills to craft compelling copy which will entice people to tap that play button.

When you’re done, hit “Publish” and your first Facebook Slideshow is live!

Want to use your video on Instagram or your website?

Click on the three dots at the top of the post. You’ll see a drop-down menu appear with the options to download the slideshow or embed it.

Choosing the Right Photos for Your Facebook Slideshow

presentation photo facebook

The process of selecting appropriate photographs for a Facebook slideshow involves considering factors such as visual quality, relevance to the intended message, and the overall coherence of the presentation. When choosing images for a slideshow, it is essential to ensure that they are visually appealing and of high quality. Blurry or low-resolution images can negatively impact the viewing experience and detract from the message.

Additionally, selecting images that are relevant to the intended message is crucial for maintaining viewer engagement. Images should align with the slideshow’s content and help reinforce its main points or themes.

Another essential consideration in slideshow design is ensuring overall coherence. This means that the selected images should flow smoothly from one to another, creating a cohesive narrative or storyline. A disjointed collection of unrelated photos can confuse viewers and diminish their understanding of the intended message. Therefore, it is important to carefully curate a selection of photos that have a logical progression or connection.

Creating a Facebook Slideshow: Step-by-Step Guide

presentation photo facebook

A step-by-step guide can be followed to create a slideshow on the Facebook platform successfully. First, navigate to your Facebook page and click ‘Create Post.’ Then, select the option for creating a slideshow. Next, choose the engaging slideshow themes that best suit your content. You can customize the duration of each slide and add transitions between them.

To make your slideshow more appealing, it is recommended to use high-quality visuals and include captions or descriptions for each slide. Additionally, you can enhance your slideshow by incorporating music or audio tracks that align with the theme of your content.

Preview it once you have finalized your slideshow to ensure everything looks as intended. If satisfied, click ‘Publish’ to share it on your Facebook page. To further promote your slideshow, consider sharing it on other social media platforms , such as Twitter or Instagram, by embedding a link or uploading the video file directly.

Creating an engaging slideshow on Facebook captures your audience’s attention and interactively showcases visual content. You can maximize your reach and impact by following this step-by-step guide and promoting your slideshow across various social media platforms.

Adding Captions and Transitions to Your Facebook Slideshow

Adding captions and transitions to a Facebook slideshow enhances the visual storytelling experience for viewers. Captions provide essential context and information about the photos or videos displayed, allowing viewers to understand the slideshow’s content better. This can be particularly useful when sharing memories or documenting events. Conversely, transitions help create a smooth flow between each slide, making the viewing experience more seamless and enjoyable.

In addition to captions and transitions, users can add music and filters to their Facebook slideshows. Adding music can evoke specific emotions or enhance the overall atmosphere of the slideshow. It allows users to personalize their creations and create a more engaging experience for viewers. Filters, on the other hand, can alter the appearance of each slide by adding different color tones or effects. This can help create a cohesive look throughout the slideshow or give it a specific aesthetic appeal.

Customizing the Duration and Order of Your Facebook Slideshow

Customizing the duration and order of a Facebook slideshow allows users to control how long each slide is displayed and the sequence in which they appear. You can enhance viewers’ visual and auditory experience by customizing transitions and music for your Facebook slideshow. Transitions between slides can be adjusted to create a smooth flow or add a creative touch to the presentation. Users can choose from various transition options like fade, slide, or dissolve. Additionally, adding music can further personalize the slideshow by setting the mood or complementing the content.

It is essential to optimize your Facebook slideshow for mobile devices due to its increasing popularity as a means of accessing social media platforms. To ensure a seamless viewing experience on mobile devices, it is recommended to keep your slides short. Long durations may lead to viewer disengagement or frustration while navigating the slideshow on smaller screens. Moreover, large file sizes should be avoided as they may result in slow loading times or buffering issues.

Sharing and Promoting Your Facebook Slideshow: Tips and Tricks

presentation photo facebook

When sharing and promoting a Facebook slideshow, it is important to utilize various strategies to increase visibility and engagement with the target audience. Here are three tips to optimize your Facebook slideshow for mobile viewing and measure its success using analytics:

  • Optimizing for Mobile Viewing : With most Facebook users accessing the platform through mobile devices, ensuring your slideshow is optimized for mobile viewing is crucial. This includes using high-resolution images easily viewable on smaller screens and testing the slideshow on different mobile devices to ensure compatibility.
  • Promoting through Targeted Ads : One effective way to increase visibility is by promoting your slideshow through targeted ads. Utilize Facebook’s ad targeting options to reach users likely to be interested in your content based on demographics, interests, or previous interactions with similar content.
  • Measuring Success with Analytics : To gauge the effectiveness of your Facebook slideshow promotion efforts, use analytics tools provided by Facebook Insights or third-party platforms. Monitor metrics such as reach, engagement rate, click-through rate (CTR), and conversion rate to evaluate how well your slideshow resonates with your target audience.

How to make a slideshow on Facebook

Graphic of a stylized smartphone displaying three blue squares, symbolizing a user interface for Biteable video maker, on a purple background.

The slideshow tool makes it easy. The simple format gives you polished, video-style results that load fast and look great on any device.

If you’re worried about your slideshow turning into a freakshow, we’ve prepared this step-by-step guide on how to make a photo slideshow on Facebook — fast.

We’ll show you how to use Facebook’s own Slideshow Ads feature to create affordable ads from photos and videos you already have, and how to create a basic photo slideshow from your Facebook page.

It’s quick, simple, and stress-free to make a slideshow from scratch using your own media, but you can also use one of Biteable’s specially designed templates to create a slideshow with Spielberg-level flair.

Making a Biteable template for your Facebook slideshow

At Biteable, we’ve made it simple for anyone to  create professional slideshows . Even if you’re a total newbie to the world of video and animation, you can get expert results in a matter of minutes.

Getting started

Go to our website and click on ‘Make a slideshow’.

Screenshot of Biteable's homepage featuring a video maker with a user interface displaying videos and images on the screen, accompanied by logos of notable clients below.

You’ll be prompted to log in (if you haven’t already), then you’ll be taken to the  slideshow video template library . This will be updated regularly with new templates.

We’ve taken all the guesswork (and hard work) out of making your slideshow. All you need to do is make a few quick edits to personalize your video.

Our templates let you edit as much or as little as you like. Change a word here or an image there. Or go all-out and add extra scenes, text, photos, and videos to your template to create something even more spectacular. It’s up to you.

Every template is designed by our team to give you eye-popping images, effects, and colors that are typically achievable only with complex editing software and a big budget.

Customizing your Biteable template

Hover over any of the template images and click the play arrow to preview each slideshow. When you’ve chosen the one that’s right for you, click on the ‘Edit Video’ button to start creating.

presentation photo facebook

This will take you to the Biteable editor. The clear layout and intuitive design of our editing tool makes it simple for you to change images, text, font, color, and timing per slide of each individual scene.

From this dashboard, you can upload your own logo, photos, or videos to include in your slideshow. You can also add audio from our selection of royalty-free tracks at the ‘Audio’ step at the top of the editor.

If you’re planning to use your template to create a Facebook ad using Ads Manager, you can skip adding audio at this point. You’ll get the opportunity to add music to your slideshow when you’re in the Facebook platform.

Once you’re happy with your finished slideshow template, it’s time to preview it and get it ready to save to your desktop.

Click the green ‘Preview Video’ button in the top menu and Biteable will build your slideshow video while you wait.

After you’ve watched the preview, you can choose to publish your video or go back and edit things as many times as you need to. Once your changes are made, build a preview again and then publish your video to Facebook.

If you’re a Biteable Premium member, you can remove the watermark and download your slideshow video to your desktop, and then upload to Facebook from there if you prefer.

You’ve now got a magnificent slideshow you can use to tell the world about your brand. One of the most popular ways to do this is with Facebook Ads.

How to make a slideshow with Facebook Ads Manager

Facebook Slideshow Ads are fast and inexpensive to create. Videos made the usual way (e.g. by hiring a video editor or signing up for software like Adobe Premiere) can be time-consuming and expensive.

The Facebook Slideshow feature allows you to showcase your brand in an ad with all the emotion and visual impact of video, but in a more cost-effective and lightweight format.

Open up your Facebook Ads Manager and click the green ‘+ Create’ button.

presentation photo facebook

First you’ll need to choose the objectives that will help you reach your ad goals. Slideshow is available in all objectives, whether you want to run your ad on Instagram, focus on traffic, conversions, or get video views.

presentation photo facebook

Next you’ll need to click up a frenzy as you decide on your campaign and ad set details, targeting, budget, and scheduling information. Once you’re done, create a campaign name and click ‘Continue’.

presentation photo facebook

You should now be in the Format section, where (since you’ve already read this far) you’ll want to check the ‘Slideshow’ box and then ‘Create Slideshow’.

presentation photo facebook

You’ll be transported to the ‘Video Creation Kit’ window where you’ll check the ‘Create Slideshow’ box and then ‘Continue’.

presentation photo facebook

This will now pop up the main settings box. You’ll see options to choose your aspect ratio, select the display duration for each image, and pick a transition effect for your slideshow. This is where you’ll start building your slideshow from either still photos or a video.

presentation photo facebook

How to make a Facebook Slideshow Ad from a video

This is a great time to take your shiny new Biteable slideshow for a spin.

Make sure your aspect ratio is correct for any video you decide to use. Your Biteable video needs to be set to a 16:9 ratio so it doesn’t get cropped into a square. You can click back to the ‘Video settings’ menu to preview the aspect ratio of your video at any time if you’re not sure.

Once your video uploads to Facebook, it will split into still frames that seamlessly displays your ad in a slideshow format.

From here you can select as many frames as you like to create your slideshow. It’s easy to make sure they’re in the right sequence by clicking on the stills from top to bottom to add them to the timeline.

You can preview your slideshow at any point using the pane on the top right-hand side to see how it’ll look when it’s published.

In the timeline you’ll notice a tiny pencil icon on each image. Clicking this allows you to add captions to each still. You can choose the font, color, and position of the captions for each frame. Once you’re done, click ‘Save’.

How to make a Facebook Slideshow Ad from photos

From the main settings box, instead of selecting video, click ‘Add Photos’. This will pop up a box where you can choose up to 10 photos from your account images, stock images, page images, or from your saved photos.

Your images should all have the same dimensions if possible, to avoid cropping.

presentation photo facebook

Once you’ve chosen your photos, click the blue ‘Confirm’ button and Facebook will populate the settings box with your uploaded photos.

The photos will display in your slideshow in the order they appear on the timeline. If you got things wrong, you can delete and re-upload your images. You can check your progress in the preview pane at any time as you work.

presentation photo facebook

Clicking the pencil icon in the timeline for each image lets you add in text captions to your photos. You can also move around the settings box and make adjustments to your aspect ratio, image duration, and transition effects.

How to make a Facebook Slideshow Ad with music

The settings box has an optional feature that allows you to add an audio element to your slideshow. Facebook supports WAV, MP3, M4A, FLAC and OGG formats.

Click the ‘Music’ button and you’ll see a list of available tracks. There’s also an option to upload your own track — just make sure you’re legally allowed to use it first.

presentation photo facebook

Uploading and publishing your Facebook Slideshow Ad

Give your slideshow a final preview (or two) and make sure it’s all ready to go. Click the blue ‘Create Slideshow’ button at the bottom right of the settings box and your slideshow will begin its uploading journey to Ads Manager.

Your upload will take between 30 seconds to 2 minutes depending on your connection speed. Grab a coffee, ponder the universe, and it will be ready before you know it.

You’ll now find yourself back in the main Ads Manager dashboard where you’ll be given the option to add a few final customizations to your video. You can select the main thumbnail to display in your ad and upload captions if you need to.

presentation photo facebook

Add your ad text, call to action, and placement details. Then scroll to the bottom right hand corner and click the green ‘Confirm’ button. This will publish and activate your ad campaign — you’re done!

Creating a basic slideshow for your Facebook page

If you don’t want to use our Biteable templates (it’s okay, we can still be friends) and you don’t want to make a Facebook ad, you can also create a slideshow from photos using the basic tool built into the Facebook platform.

From here you can build a simple slideshow up to 50 seconds in length to post on your page. It won’t have as much wow factor as the Biteable templates, but it’s still a great way for you to create a Facebook video.

Go to your Facebook page on your desktop and get ready to write a new post.

You can’t make a slideshow on your  Facebook profile  page, it has to be a  Facebook page  that you manage. If you’re confused at this point, navigate to one of your pages on Facebook and start from there, or  create a new page  for your fans to follow if you don’t have this set up.

Select the ‘Photo/Video’ option on your post creation module.

presentation photo facebook

Once you’ve clicked this button, a dropdown will appear with more photo and video options to choose from. You’ll want to select ‘Create Slideshow’.

presentation photo facebook

A pop-up box will appear, giving you settings options for your slideshow. You can now start uploading photos from your gallery or taking new photos to add to your slideshow.

presentation photo facebook

The settings allow you to select your:

Aspect ratios

  • Square (1:1)
  • Rectangle (16:9)
  • Vertical (2:3)

Image duration

  • Between 1 and 5 seconds per photo

Transition styles

  • None — each photo moves straight to the next photo
  • Fade — inserts a fade effect between each photo

If you’re not sure about any of the above options, it’s okay. You can play around with these settings while you preview and edit your slideshow in this window at any time before you publish it to see how it looks.

Now for the fun part — uploading photos to start making your slideshow.

Uploading photos to create your Facebook slideshow

Make sure you upload your photos in the order you want them to appear on the slideshow when it plays. You can use a minimum of 3 and maximum of 10 photos as part of your video.

You can replace and delete photos as you go, but you’ll need to delete all of the photos back to the point of the first photo you want to change. Then you’ll need to upload everything again from there. It’s a bit annoying, but doesn’t take too long (we promise).

presentation photo facebook

Clicking the ‘+’ sign in the photo timeline will allow you to add new photos until you reach the maximum of 10.

In the top right corner of this settings box, you can click on the white arrow in the preview pane to see exactly how your slideshow will look when it’s published.

You can keep changing photos, adjusting the settings, and previewing your slideshow until it’s exactly how you want it.

Making a Facebook slideshow with music

Want to add music to your slideshow to make it even more amazing? Simply stay in the same settings box and click the ‘Music’ tab.

This will drop down a range of different tracks for you to choose from. You’ll notice a row of emojis above the track listing. These give you options to select recent tracks or to choose a certain theme for your music (e.g. inspirational, fun, modern).

presentation photo facebook

All Facebook’s tracks are free to use. You’ll notice there’s also an option to upload your own music. If you’re going to add your own music, make sure you have the right to use it first. A copyright infringement fine will take all the enjoyment out of creating your first slideshow.

Posting your slideshow to Facebook

Is your preview looking good? If so, it’s time to publish.

Remember, once you’ve published your video, you can’t go back and edit it, so now’s a good time to give it one last preview!

All you have to do is click the blue ‘Create Slideshow’ button.

presentation photo facebook

This will pop up yet another window (thanks, Facebook…) with the magic button you’ve been waiting for: ‘Publish’.

presentation photo facebook

Your slideshow will take a few moments to upload before you can view it, so don’t panic that it hasn’t shown up immediately. Have a stretch. Grab a snack. You’ve earned it.

Once the upload is complete, you’ll get a screen notification from Facebook that your slideshow is ready to watch. If you love your video creation and want the world to love it too, you can pay to promote your slideshow by clicking the ‘Boost Post’ button.

presentation photo facebook

So there you have it. The fastest, easiest ways to create professional slideshows on Facebook, whether you’re using them to advertise your business or just to brighten up your page. Now go forth and create!

How to Create a Slideshow for Facebook on Your PC

The very first thing to do before making a slideshow on a computer is to choose a tool to work with. There are various specialized programs, a built-in Facebook editor, and other options to consider. But which one should you pick?

Although Facebook has a built-in slideshow feature, the devs keep experimenting with it, affecting its availability. Public account owners can use it for commercial purposes, but for others there is no guarantee that you will be able to access it freely as of now.

So, to make a Facebook slideshow it is best to use third-party tools. One such tool is SmartSHOW 3D. With this slideshow maker for PC , you can create an enthralling photo movie with an unlimited number of pictures, video clips, and music from the built-in library or your own audio collection. What's more, hundreds of stunning transitions and effects that will make your slides a true eye-catcher. And all of that is easily accessible thanks to an intuitive interface.

If you still have some doubts, read our step-by-step guide and learn how to create slideshows for Facebook in SmartSHOW 3D. You will see for yourself that the whole process is straightforward and uncomplicated.

Step 1. Download and Install SmartSHOW 3D

Hit the button below and download the free trial of SmartSHOW 3D. Launch the installer on your computer and follow the instructions of the setup wizard. You'll be able to start working with the program in less than 5 minutes.

Step 2. Add Your Photos & Video Clips to the Timeline

Click Create New Project and pick the best images and video clips for your slideshow. SmartSHOW 3D doesn't limit the number of pictures you can add, while the built-in Facebook slideshow creator allows only 3 to 10 photos - and no videos at all. SmartSHOW 3D also supports convenient video editing: you can crop or mute video clips without any other programs needed.

Pick a project format and add your pictures

Step 3. Select Eye-Catching Effects and Transitions

Choose from the program's rich collection of 400+ slide effects and fancy transitions. There are simple and elegant effects (pan & zoom, page flip, old film, etc.), dynamic 3D motion (3D tilt & zoom, 3D-flight, 3D-flip, etc.), delicate color presets (hue changing, color play, fade in color) and nature effects (snowflakes, autumn leaves, sparkles, etc.).

Add eyecatching effects to your facebook picture slideshow

Step 4. Select a Soundtrack to Create the Right Mood

A slideshow without music is somewhat crippled, isn't it? SmartSHOW 3D lets you add and fine-tune as many music tracks as you want, and record voice comments as well. The program includes a library of 200+ royalty-free tracks, while Facebook has disabled all music in its slideshow maker.

Add music and voice comments to your slideshow

Step 5. Save Your Slideshow for Sharing on Facebook

SmartSHOW 3D optimizes your final slideshow for Facebook and other social platforms. Set the desired quality and choose the recommended resolution (HD 720p or 480p), so that your slideshow movie won't suffer from automatic video resizing and quality loss. SmartSHOW 3D also lets you adjust advanced settings if necessary, but the default ones work fine for Facebook videos. You can save your slideshow in a variety of other formats - for TVs, smartphones, PCs, etc.

Save and share your facebook video slideshow

Alternative Ways to Create a Slideshow for Facebook

If, for some reason, there’s no way for you to do a slideshow on Facebook, you can try making a slideshow-like content instead. There are a couple of ways to handle this task.

Make a multi-image post on Facebook

One method you could opt to is making multi-image posts. It is quite close to the slideshow format at its core. Although not identical to Facebook's Slideshow Carousel feature, this technique can still grab attention on your newsfeed. You simply create a post with multiple images and share it on Facebook. The main difference from an actual slideshow is that viewers have to manually click through the photos instead of watching a video.

Posting a series of images

Make a video on Facebook with pictures and music

What do videos and slideshows have in common? Both are essentially a series of changing images. Thus, making a video is a great alternative to making a slideshow. All you need is to get a fitting program, such as Clipify . It offers a wide range of video editing stuff including gradients, slides, and splits which can be used to create a slideshow. Additionally, it provides more than 450 special effects that can be applied to your clips to make them into awesome artwork.

Tips for Optimizing Your Slideshow for Facebook

  • Keep it short and concise: Facebook users tend to have short attention spans, so try to keep your slideshow under one minute if possible. This will ensure that viewers are more likely to watch it to completion.
  • Choose the right photos and videos: Make sure the photos and videos you include in your slideshow are high-quality, visually appealing, and relevant to your message or story.
  • Use captions and titles: Adding captions and titles to your slideshow can help explain the context of the photos/videos, add an engaging impact, and make it more accessible for viewers who may be watching in silent mode.
  • Choose a theme and music: Using a theme and music that are appropriate for your content can help set the tone and enhance the overall viewing experience.
  • Add transitions and effects: Transitions and effects can make your slideshow look more polished and professional. However, be careful not to overdo it, as too many can be distracting.
  • Optimize for mobile: Since many people access Facebook on mobile devices, it's important to optimize your slideshow for mobile by choosing the right size and format.
  • Consider adding a call-to-action: If you're using your slideshow for business or marketing purposes, consider adding a call-to-action at the end of your slideshow to encourage viewers to take action (like visiting your website, subscribing to your channel, or making a purchase).

An effective way to engage your audience and convey your message is to make a slideshow with music on Facebook. Whether you choose to use Facebook's built-in slideshow feature or a third-party tool, make sure to choose high-quality and relevant photos and videos. It's also important to optimize your slideshow for mobile devices, and consider adding a call-to-action if you're using it for business or marketing purposes. Also remember that making a video on Facebook with pictures and music is a worthy alternative. With these simple tips and tools, you'll be able to create an eye-catching and engaging photo slideshow for your Facebook audience.

Facebook is at the top of the ladder of most popular social media platforms, hence why people leverage it to get the exposure they need for their businesses.

Indeed, you must learn the skills required to make eye-catching slideshows that will reach your target audience on Facebook. You can create Facebook slideshows using the feature designed on Facebook for this purpose. Other methods are also suggested to you if you do not find the Facebook default slideshow feature. A method like using Online UniConverter Facebook slideshow maker gives you a better experience creating a slideshow with music on Facebook.

  • Part 1. How to create a slideshow on Facebook via Facebook slideshow feature
  • Part 2. Facebook slideshow feature disappeared - what can you do? (3 methods)

Part 1: How to create a slideshow on Facebook via Facebook slideshow feature

Most Facebook users know about the Facebook slideshow feature, and they use it to create slideshows that promote their brands and online presence. However, for those who do not know, you can create a slideshow on Facebook using the slideshow feature, and here is how you can do that:

  • Log on to your Facebook page on your desktop or PC.
  • Select Create Post just like you always begin when you want to create a Facebook post.
  • Click Create Slideshow.
  • Facebook slideshow feature has three significant settings, each with a specific use during editing. They are Aspect ratio (which means the size of the video slideshow), image duration (i.e., the length of time each photo stays up on the screen), and transition (which is the style in which photos slide from one to the next, be it through fading or without any transition at all).
  • The Facebook slideshow feature allows you to add from three to ten images per slideshow video. You can leave the default aspect ratio of the photos or change to any of these options: rectangle (16:9), square (1:1), or vertical (2:3). Also, edit the duration of each image in the slideshow and the transition style.
  • Add music to the slideshow from the list of music provided on the slideshow tool.
  • Add tags to your video before publishing if you wish, and select the thumbnail to use for the slideshow. A thumbnail is what attracts viewers to your video, so make it good.

Part 2: Facebook slideshow feature disappeared - what can you do? (3 methods)

Due to some unexpected changes by the Facebook support team, users can no longer find the Facebook slideshow feature. If you cannot use your Facebook slideshow feature because it has disappeared, you can still create a slideshow on Facebook. Use any of the three solutions mentioned below, and you are good to go:

Solution 1: Update the Facebook App (most straightforward)

A common reason why you cannot find the Facebook slideshow maker feature could be that your Facebook app is outdated. It is especially true for those who have never used the slideshow feature on Facebook and are just learning about it. Update the app on your device for both Android and iOS users.

For Android users, visit Google Playstore and search for Facebook. You will see the option to update the app since you already have it. Just tap on this option, install and open it to access the slideshow feature.

For iPhone users, visit your App store, do the exact search for Facebook, and then update it to the latest version. Launch the app as usual and continue using it after installation.

Solution 2: Use Ads Manager

When you cannot find the Facebook slideshow feature, it does not mean it has disappeared. Technically, it is still on Facebook but the Ads Manager section instead, where it is supposed to be for creating Ads slideshows. However, you can use this tool without creating ads on Facebook (although you may be using your slideshow to advertise after all) when you look at it.

Anyway, follow these steps to locate the Ads Manager tool and use it to create a slideshow on Facebook:

1. Open the Facebook Ads Manager:

If you cannot still create slideshows on Facebook using its carousel, you can use the Ads Manager section.

2. Select page posts:

Go to the top-left end of the Ads Manager window and click on the 9-dot icon there. From the list of options, choose Page Posts.

3. Create slideshow post:

Click the blue Create Post button. Follow the prompt that appears to create, and if you have multiple Facebook pages, ensure you are using the right one to do this. Select Photo/Video.

4. Choose to create slideshow:

A list of options will appear to choose what you want to create. From the list, select Create Slideshow.

5. Edit the slideshow elements:

You can add between three to ten photos for the slideshow video.

Have fun editing your work by adjusting the duration of each image, selecting the transition from photo to photo, and deciding what aspect ratio to use, as discussed in the section above. You can as well add music to the slideshow to give it spice.

6. Preview the edited slideshow:

To see your edited work from start to finish, select the play button. If there are any changes you would like to make, now is the time to make them since you can't edit the slideshow after publishing it.

7. Publish your slideshow:

Give your video a description after it has been uploaded. Next, the posting option should be Newsfeed since you are not posting it as a Facebook Ad even though you are using Ads Manager. Click Share Now to publish your slideshow video on your Facebook page.

Solution 3: Online UniConverter Slideshow Maker [Recommended!]

The first step is to add the slideshow's images by dragging and dropping them from your device storage to the home page of the slideshow maker. Alternatively, click Choose Files.

Step 2 : Edit the photos

Add music to the slideshow background to play as the photos slide through the screen. Adjust the duration of each image to suit what you want. You can either leave the pictures as you have added them or rearrange the order in which they appear.

Step 3 : Export the final video

Once you are done, you can move the slideshow straight to Facebook as a post. Remember, one of the features of this tool is that it lets you edit and export your work using the aspect ratios of pages like Facebook; take advantage of it.

With Facebook, you can create slideshows to share with friends, loved ones, and your general audience. This article has given you the correct guide on creating a slideshow on Facebook using this slideshow feature. Now, the slideshow feature on Facebook and Ads Manager is not reliable for making slideshow on Facebook. Sometimes, you may not find the feature anymore, and the use of Ads Manager is also limited as the editing options and music options are few. Thus, it would help if you had a third-party tool with more advantages over the default Facebook slideshow tools. That is why Online UniConverter Slideshow Maker comes in. It gives you variety, letting you add your music to your slideshow. With this tool, you can freely create slideshows using the Facebook aspect ratio online, then directly export it to Facebook.

  • The selection of photos for the slideshow really matters a lot but the selection of the first photo demands the major focus. How your slideshow appears in the first two-three seconds; is going to make a real difference in its popularity. At least it must capture the attention of viewers and should compel them to watch it till the end.
  • Never forget to use captions and titles for your slideshow stories as they add an engaging impact.

How to Get Better Cell Phone Signal With Low Reception on iPhone and Android

Get good reception with these helpful pointers.

presentation photo facebook

Good cell phone reception can be hard to achieve if you're out in the middle of nowhere.

You're out in the middle of nowhere and your car has broken down. Time to call for help. But your  cell phone coverage is basically nonexistent. What now? There's no doubt that a good cell signal can  save your life . If you find yourself in a pinch without a decent phone signal, there are quick and easy ways to get better reception on both iPhone and Android, like toggling Airplane mode or resetting your network settings. Check out these tried-and-true approaches below – so you never have to find yourself in this frustrating situation ever again.

Here's what you need to know.

Note : Although software across different iPhone models is relatively the same, Samsung Galaxy , Google Pixel and other Android phones may have different software versions, so certain settings and where they are located might differ depending on device.

For more, check out how you can use Google Maps when you're offline and how you can maybe fix your internet when it's down .

To improve your cell phone service, try these steps first

The settings on your phone can help you get better cell service, but there are other tricks for improving your reception without even touching your phone's software.

  • Move yourself so that there are no obstructions between your phone and any cell towers outside . That might involve stepping away from metal objects or concrete walls, which both kill reception. Instead, get to a window or go outside if possible.
  • Remove your phone case . It doesn't hurt to remove whatever case you have on your phone, especially if it's thick, so that the phone's antenna isn't blocked by anything and can get a better signal.
  • Make sure your phone is charged . Searching for and connecting to a stronger signal drains power, so if your phone battery is already low on charge, you may have a difficult time getting good service.

Moshi iPhone 13 cases

Some cell phone cases cause more signal disruption than others.

Always start by turning Airplane mode on and off

Turning your phone's connection off and then back on is the quickest and easiest way to try and fix your signal woes. If you're moving around from one location to another, toggling Airplane mode restarts the Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and cellular network modems, which forces them to find the best signal in the area.

Android : Swipe down from the top of your screen -- to access the Quick Settings panel -- and then tap the Airplane mode icon. Wait for your phone to completely disconnect from its Wi-Fi and cellular connections. It doesn't happen instantly, so give it a good 15 seconds before you tap on the Airplane mode icon again.

iPhone:  On the iPhone, you can access Airplane mode from the Control Center, but that varies depending on which iPhone model you have. On the iPhone X and later, swipe down from the top-right corner to access the Control Center. On older iPhone models, swipe up from the bottom of the screen. Then tap the Airplane mode icon, which will turn orange when it's enabled. Again, wait up to 15 seconds before turning it off.

Left: Airplane mode on your iPhone. Right: Airplane mode on an Android.

If airplane mode doesn't work, restart your phone

Our phones are miniature computers, and just like computers, sometimes you can fix issues like network connection by simply restarting them.

Android : Hold down the power button, or the power button and the volume down key (depending on your Android phone), until the on-screen menu shows up, and then tap Restart. If your phone doesn't offer a restart option, you can simply tap Power Off to shut down your device, and then boot it back up with the power button.

iPhone : On the iPhone X and older models, hold down the sleep/wake button and either one of the volume buttons and then swipe right on the power slider to turn off the device. Wait until it fully turns off, then press down on the sleep/wake button to turn it back on.

Alternatively, you can do a force reset on your iPhone: Press the volume up button, followed by the volume down button and then press and hold the side button. Keep holding it in, after your phone's screen goes black and until you see the Apple logo appear again.

If your iPhone has a home button, hold down the sleep/wake button until the power slider is displayed and then drag the slider to the right. Once the device is turned off, press and hold the sleep/wake button until you see the Apple logo.

Take your SIM card out of your phone

Another troubleshooting step that might help is to remove your SIM card, if your phone has one, and then place it back in with the phone turned on. If the SIM card is dirty, clean it. If it has any physical defects, you may need to replace it.

You'll need a SIM card tool -- usually included in your phone's box -- or an unfolded paper clip or sewing needle to get the SIM tray out of your phone.

All phones : Remove the SIM card, check to see if it's damaged and positioned in the SIM tray correctly, then put it back in your phone.

eSIM : For phones with an eSIM -- that is, an embedded electronic SIM in your phone -- there's nothing for you to remove. The best you can do is restart your phone.

sim-pixel-3-xl

Removing and putting your SIM card back into your phone takes just a couple of seconds.

Check your carrier settings (and update your software)

Mobile carriers frequently send out carrier settings updates to help improve connectivity for calls, data and messages on their network. Although this feature is available on all iPhone models, it's not universal on Android, so you might not find carrier settings if you don't have a supported phone.

iPhone : Carrier updates should just appear, and you can update from the pop-up message that appears. To force your iPhone to check for a carrier settings update, go to  Settings > General > About on your phone. If an update is available, you'll be prompted to install it.

Android : As mentioned before, not all Android phones have carrier settings, so you'll have to open the Settings app and type in "carrier settings" to find any possible updates. On supported Pixels, go to Settings > Network & internet > Internet , tap the gear next to your carrier name and then tap Carrier settings versions .

Carrier settings on iOS and Android

Reset your phone's network settings

Sometimes all you need is a clean slate to fix an annoying connectivity issue. Refreshing your phone's network settings is one way to do that. But be forewarned, resetting your network settings will also reset any saved Wi-Fi passwords, VPN connections and custom APN settings for those on carriers that require additional setup.

Android : In the Settings app, search for "reset" or more specifically "reset network settings" and tap on the setting. On the Pixel, the setting is called Reset Wi-Fi, mobile & Bluetooth . After you reset your network settings, remember to reconnect your phone to your home and work Wi-Fi networks.

iPhone : Go to Settings > Transfer or Reset iPhone  > Reset > Reset Network settings . The next page will warn you that resetting your network settings will reset your settings for Wi-Fi, mobile data and Bluetooth. Tap Reset Network Settings and your phone will restart.

Network settings on iOS and Android

Resetting network settings should be one of the last troubleshooting steps you try.

Contact your phone carrier

Sometimes unexpected signal issues can be traced back to problems with your wireless carrier. A cell tower could be down, or the tower's fiber optic cable could have been cut, causing an outage.

For consistent problems connecting to or staying connected to a cellular or data network, it's possible your carrier's coverage doesn't extend well into your neighborhood.

Other times, a newfound signal issue can be due to a defect with your phone or a SIM card that's gone bad. Contacting your carrier to begin troubleshooting after you've tried these fixes is the next best step to resolving your spotty signal.

galaxy-s10-plus-macro-1

Sometimes contacting your carrier is the only way to get signal issues resolved.

If all else fails, try a signal booster to improve cell reception

If after going through all of our troubleshooting steps, including talking to your carrier to go over your options, you're still struggling to keep a good signal -- try a booster. A signal booster receives the same cellular signal your carrier uses, then amplifies it just enough to provide coverage in a room or your entire house.

The big downside here is the cost. Wilson has three different boosters designed for home use, ranging in price from $349 for single room coverage to $999 to cover your entire home . To be clear, we haven't specifically tested these models. Wilson offers a 30-day money-back guarantee and a two-year warranty should you have any trouble with its products.

How Advanced Camera Tech Helps Pros Take Amazing Olympics Photos

A sequence showing a gymnast performing on a balance beam. The gymnast wears a red, white, and blue leotard and is captured in different phases of a routine, demonstrating balance and flexibility. The Paris 2024 Olympics logo and a packed audience can be seen in the background.

Professional photographer Nick Didlick has been shooting for nearly 50 years, so he has experienced significant shifts in how photos are captured, shared, and consumed. He’s currently in Paris for the 2024 Summer Olympics and chatted with PetaPixel about how photography has changed, how better technology helps him capture better photos, and the challenge of capturing the perfect moment.

Pro Photographer Nick Didlick Reflects on How Photography Has Changed

As a long-time vet of the professional photo industry, Didlick has experienced seismic shifts in camera technology. In a new blog post on his website, Didlick looks back at how camera technology and photo sharing have changed in the century since the Summer Olympics were last in Paris, France.

A close-up view of the Eiffel Tower illuminated with a blue hue, featuring multiple laser lights and the Olympic rings prominently displayed in white at the center. The scene is vibrant with a celebratory atmosphere.

“As I wait for the 2024 Olympic gymnastics competition to start, I reflect on my first Olympics, the 1984 Sarajevo Winter Olympics, which took place forty years ago,” Didlick writes. “But then I realized that Paris held their first Summer Olympics in 1924, 100 years ago and what a difference a century ago. As an Olympic photographer, my profession has seen many changes in forty years, but looking back to the 1924 Paris Summer Olympics, the changes have been astonishing.”

A man in a suit holds a lit torch aloft in a stadium filled with spectators, many of whom are capturing the moment with their phones. The crowd includes people holding various national flags. The setting appears to be an organized, celebratory event at night.

Didlick is no stranger to shooting film, but in Paris in 1924, photographers were shooting on large-format roll film and big, bulky, slow cameras. Newspapers relied heavily on illustrations and drawings to accompany the text, and television was in its crude infancy. The images captured took a while to reach their destination and weren’t used the same way they would be now.

A group of women athletes in matching outfits and clear plastic ponchos enthusiastically wave Canadian flags while walking on a rain-soaked surface. They are smiling and appear celebratory, with some waving directly at the camera.

“Today, in this world of instant communications, pictures are sent directly from the camera to customers worldwide in less time than it takes to run the Olympic 100-meter dash, less than 10 seconds,” Didlick explains.

Sony’s Huge Presence in Paris

Fast-forward to 2024. Camera manufacturers have a significant presence in Paris, with rooms full of the newest camera bodies, lenses, and expert technicians. Photographers can capture dozens of images per second, wirelessly send photos to editors. In some cases, new images can be published before an event is even done, as was the case with a viral Olympic surfing photo earlier this week .

A symmetrical layout of Sony camera gear on a surface with a background resembling the French flag. The equipment includes multiple camera bodies, large telephoto lenses, prime lenses, a smartphone, and various camera accessories, all arranged neatly.

In the case of Sony’s prominent presence in Paris, the company has around 80 people, 600 cameras, and 1,300 lenses on-site to help photographers like Didlick capture the perfect shot.

A series of black shelves holding rows of camera lenses of various sizes. The middle rows display large white telephoto lenses, while the top row has lens cases, and the bottom row features medium-sized lenses. Labels are affixed to the shelves for organization.

Didlick’s a9 III Enables Better Sports Photography

He has shot with Sony Alpha mirrorless cameras for years and has frequently been at the cutting edge of camera technology. He’s using the new Sony a9 III in Paris, and taking full advantage of the camera’s global shutter image sensor.

A person wearing a dark t-shirt and a blue lanyard is meticulously cleaning the interior of a DSLR camera with a cleaning tool at a workstation. The desk is equipped with various camera parts, a laptop, and a green work mat.

He cites the camera’s 120 frames per second continuous shooting, distortion-free global shutter, and remarkable autofocus performance as especially vital for his work. The camera’s pre-capture mode also helps photographers like Didlick capture the moment, even if they haven’t yet fully pressed the shutter.

A boxer wearing red gloves gets punched in the face by an opponent wearing blue gloves during a match. The impact of the punch causes the red-gloved boxer to grimace, with the blue-gloved fist partially obscuring their face. The background is blurred.

“Pre-capture, for example, allows the a9 III to go back in time for up to one second after the shutter is pressed to capture moments you missed,” he explains.

A sequence of four images shows a boxer wearing red gloves punching another boxer wearing blue gloves. The punch lands firmly on the nose and face of the boxer in blue gloves, visibly impacting his face as his head moves back due to the force.

Didlick’s utilization of the latest cameras goes much farther than the new Sony a9 III. He was a very early adopter of digital camera technology.

“I switched from film photography to all-digital photography in 1994,” Didlick explains over email from Paris. “Being an early adopter of a digital workflow was challenging, as we had to find and develop all the pieces needed to produce images to replace a film-based newspaper workflow.”

While the tools Didlick has used have changed dramatically over the years, the job requirements have remained steady: Capture the necessary photos and publish them as soon as possible. At the 2024 Olympics for Didlick, that means using Sony’s new PDT-FP1.

A smartphone displaying its home screen is placed between two Sony cameras inside a camera bag. The camera on the right shows a screen indicating photo transfer in progress. Various camera accessories are visible around the devices.

“Staying connected to send photos is the biggest challenge for most photojournalists and sports photographers,” he says. While there are cabled Ethernet ports at many established photo points at Olympic events, they “limit the photographer’s mobility while shooting the event.”

Instead, he works wirelessly thanks to the a9 III and PDT-FP1’s networking capabilities.

A dramatic wide-angle view of an indoor fencing competition during the Olympics. Two fencers are mid-bout on a well-lit, elevated piste. The grandiose ceiling and surrounding arches are illuminated with blue and white lights, creating a vast and vibrant spectacle.

“I can shoot anywhere in a venue, send the selects from the camera, and then edit and send the selects on my computer while riding the bus to the next venue,” Didlick explains. “The new network connections in the a9 III are fast and reliable.”

The network connections aren’t the only fast aspect of the a9 III — the camera’s novel global shutter sensor and fast processor allow it to shoot full-resolution images with full autofocus at a blistering 120 frames per second.

Black-and-white photo of a kayaker navigating through turbulent water, wearing a helmet and a numbered jersey with the Olympic rings. The kayaker is focused, gripping the paddle firmly, as water splashes around intensely.

Although a camera like the older a9 II is fast — it can shoot up to 20 frames per second — the a9 III’s 120 fps speed is next-level. Six times more frames mean that photographers like Didlick can capture more action. After all, a fabulous sports photo is about finding the perfect moment, and a faster camera makes that challenging task more manageable.

“Shooting at 120 fps gives me more choices and marketable images. What you can see when editing a 120 fps sequence is amazing,” the photographer exclaims.

A swimmer wearing a black swim cap and goggles competes in a race, performing the butterfly stroke in a swimming pool. Splashes of water surround them as they move forward, creating a dynamic and intense scene. Blue and white lane dividers are visible in the background.

He adds that he only subjects his editor to some of those photos, though. “I usually edit myself, make select choices, before passing the photos to an editor.”

Although having the best camera gear makes Didlick’s job easier, his work goes far beyond the moment of capture.

“Planning your day the night before is essential (it is only possible to cover two or maybe three events in a day here in Paris). This includes planning your picture and the gear you need to carry,” he says.

A large, packed stadium with an illuminated fencing match in progress on a central raised platform. The fencers, dressed in protective gear, are in mid-action. The audience is blurred in the background, and the scene is lit dramatically, creating a vibrant atmosphere.

He explains, “Photographers’ language has changed to words like Ethernet, WiFi, Bit Rate, VLAN, MAC address, and ESim, replacing words like Film, HC-110, and Dektol.”

Then again, you must always be prepared for “the unexpected moment,” Didlick continues.

All the Ingredients of an Amazing Sports Photo

“When in a venue, I always think about subject, lighting, and background when choosing a photo location. Finally, I choose the appropriate shutter speed and aperture for my photo,” the seasoned vet says. Any of these considerations are enough to make a photographer’s head spin, and keeping everything together while in a high-stress, fast-paced environment with assignments and deadlines separates the pros from everyone else.

A kayaker wearing a helmet navigates through turbulent water with intense focus. Water splashes around them, and the paddle is partially visible. The helmet has "GBR" written on it, indicating their nationality. The image is in black and white.

The competition goes beyond the courts, tracks, and fields, though. Didlick is also a competitor, as he battles it out against sometimes more than a thousand other photographers to get the perfect shot.

With so many lenses pointed at the same event, being creative with composition and camera settings can help one photographer’s photos stand out. And as Didlick’s pictures throughout this article show, they do.

To capture unique, interesting angles, pros sometimes also use robotic cameras. While remote-controlled cameras aren’t new, they are especially heavily utilized at this year’s Olympics.

Four professional video cameras are mounted on a metal rig with various wires and cables connected to them. The cameras are arranged in a row, facing downward, and appear to be set up for a production or filming event. The background is out of focus.

Didlick explains that these remote and robotic cameras have been planned for years, and they were installed weeks before the Olympics kicked off in late July.

“These cameras aim to provide unique sports images in locations you cannot get to during the games.”

A man with glasses sits at a desk inside a large, illuminated sports arena, working on a laptop and tablet. The arena is filled with spectators, with athletes visible on the field below. Large digital screens and intricate architectural details adorn the venue.

Between the Sony a9 III’s incredible speed, the novel remote camera setups, and Didlick’s 45-plus years of professional experience and expertise, he is in a great position to capture amazing sports photos in Paris. He has clearly already captured fantastic images, and surely, more are coming. When talented photographers have access to advanced equipment, the possibilities are endless.

A gymnast in a star-spangled leotard joyfully waves a large American flag, celebrating during the Olympics. Another gymnast, also in a patriotic leotard, smiles in the background.

Olympics Organizers Apologize After Drag Queen ‘Last Supper’ Slammed By Conservatives

Organizers of the Paris Olympics have apologized for any offense caused by a skit in the games' opening ceremony Friday that featured drag stars in what many viewers saw as a parody of Leonardo Da Vinci’s famous “The Last Supper" masterpiece, a similarity that drew the ire of Catholic leaders and conservatives like Elon Musk and Donald Trump Jr.

An overview of the Trocadero venue with the Eiffel Tower in the background, in Paris, during the ... [+] opening ceremony of the 2024 Summer Olympics.

Anne Descamps, a spokesperson for the Paris games, told reporters on Sunday there was "never an intention to show disrespect to any religious group" and Thomas Jolly, creative director of the opening ceremony, instead hoped to "celebrate community tolerance," according to multiple news outlets.

She said the scene was generally well received but that organizers are "of course, really, really sorry" to anyone who was offended.

The skit saw LGBTQ+ icon Barbara Butch don a silver, halo-like headdress while seated in the center of a table with other drag artists on a footbridge, while parading athletes floated underneath on the Seine.

Though organizers said the skit was an "interpretation of the Greek God [of wine and festivity] Dionysus," the visual similarities to "The Last Supper" were immediately spotted and criticized by those who said it was an offensive depiction of a classic religious scene in “The Last Supper,” which depicts Jesus and the 12 apostles.

Jolly on Friday said the scene wasn’t meant to be a direct recreation of “The Last Supper” and that the group sitting around the table was instead a celebration of feasting and French gastronomy.

“My wish isn’t to be subversive, nor to mock or to shock,” Jolly said. “Most of all, I wanted to send a message of love, a message of inclusion and not at all to divide.”

Chief Critics

Right-wing pundits and some lawmakers said the skit was a mockery of the Christian faith, and one prominent Catholic leader said it was an example of a “deeply secularist postmodern society." Billionaire Elon Musk called the skit “extremely disrespectful to Christians” and House Speaker Mike Johnson , R-La., said the scene was “shocking and insulting to Christian people around the world.” Others to criticize the scene have included Donald Trump Jr., Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker, Piers Morgan and several Catholic bishops.

Recreations of “Last Supper” are not uncommon and have not often been met with the same kind of backlash as what followed the Olympic opening ceremony. Popular TV shows like “Lost,” “House,” “Battlestar Galactica,” “The Sopranos” and “The Simpsons,” among others, have posed their actors in similar photos, and art with celebrities like Marilyn Monroe, Freddie Mercury and Bill Murray portraying Jesus are readily available online.
