Domain 7: Personal Growth and Professional Development
Professional and Personal Goal
Domain 7 is about the personal and professional growth of teachers. It shows that teachers care about their jobs and have a high personal regard for them when they exhibit qualities like care, respect, and honesty. This domain values learning and reflection at both a personal and professional level in terms of improving the profession. It recognizes how important it is for teachers to take care of their own growth and professional development so that students can keep learning throughout their lives.
Professional learning is another term for professional development, which is what experienced teachers call it. It is the way teachers learn the information and skills they need to do their jobs well. This means not only learning new ideas and techniques about how to teach, but also putting them into practice and figuring out how to make the classroom run more smoothly. Professional development includes training, but the focus is on how well a teacher understands the situations in which they teach and how well they can use real skills in those situations. I've learned a lot of important things during my teaching internship. In every way, having experience is better than not having it. Teaching Internship is the most important part of every student who takes an education course, and what I want to experience in a real-life situation is being a teacher. My entire teaching internship helps me a lot in all aspects, like the kind of teacher I want to be. I know I'm starting as a beginning teacher, but my experience helps me a lot and realize every day. As a teacher, you’re not just a bookworm who teaches students every day a lesson, but also a second parent to your students who touch their lives to motivate and inspire them. Before I worked as an intern at Visca Foundation Elementary School, I went to seminars put on by the department to help us students get ready for the field. We can think about how we will value our jobs and our own growth in the near future during these webinars. These webinars helped me figure out my teaching philosophy and how I've been learning new things to help me reach my goal as a teacher. I have long-term goals at work and in my personal life. My long-term career goals are to finish my four-year course, pass the Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET), work for the Department of Education (DepEd), and start a Master’s program soon. My long-term goal is to teach young people and show them how important education is to their lives. I also want to change the lives of the kids as I teach. I can see how much I've grown since my first year of college. Realizing that I can think about how I've changed as a student teacher has helped me set a goal. Seminars are a good way to learn new skills and get the motivation you need to get through each day. You also need to make plans and learn new things if you want to grow. I see myself progressing each day. I start to figure out my weaknesses and turn them into my strengths. I work on my discipline when I learn new ways to teach, when I keep a positive attitude, when I improve my self-esteem and self-confidence, and when I figure out why I'm here and what my purpose is in life.
As a future teacher, it is important to participate in workshops and seminars in school. Workshops and seminars can help me to improve myself as a teacher because this helps me to create an effective learning environment, improve my teaching learning situations, as well as keep updated on modern instructional devices and inspire them to become better teachers in the modern world. The goal of the Department of Education is to ensure that every teacher becomes not only efficient but also an effective teacher. And as a teacher, I must claim the opportunities being provided for self-improvement. Taking responsibility for what happens isn't always easy, but it's the right thing to do.
