Short Essay on the Book I Like the Most in 100 Words

Out of all the books that I have read, the one I like the most is Ramayana. Ramayana is a Hindu epic that tells the story of Lord Rama. The story starts with Rama’s father, Dasharatha, who was the King of Ayodhya and his three wives. Later Lord Rama is born and the story follows him as he grows up, gets married, is exiled and has to fight various demons and evil creatures.

The main part of the story is where Lord Rama fights the Demon King, Ravana and defeats him. He then returns to his kingdom and rules over the people as a moral and just ruler. This sacred epic written in ancient times teaches us a lot about life.

Short Essay on the Book I Like the Most in 200 Words

Books have the power to fuel our imagination, provide us with knowledge about the outside world and improve our intellect. I love to read books. Reading books also boosts our memory and improves our reading, writing and speaking skills. I have read many fictional and non-fictional books, but the book I like the most is our former president, Dr APJ Abdul Kalam’s autobiography, ‘Wings of fire’. The book covers his life story before he became the president of India.

In the book, Dr Kalam talks about his childhood, his early life, his family and the struggles they had to go through to make ends meet. He talks about his journey from being a small village boy in Tamil Nadu to becoming a leading scientist in Indian space research, nuclear and missile development programs.

His story is indeed inspiring and proves that one can achieve all their dreams if one is sincere and are determined to work hard and persevere. The book also highlights the importance of family in the life of a person and how their support can help one realize even their seemingly impossible dreams.

I have read the book multiple times and it has always left me feeling motivated and filled with determination to chase my dreams. It is indeed an amazing book.

Short Essay on the Book I Like the Most in 400 Words

Books are often referred to as a man’s best friend. They are loyal companions capable of uplifting our moods and providing us with a safe space. Books contain a vast amount of knowledge and information and have helped us evolve in many ways.

Books have the power to fuel our imagination, provide us with knowledge about almost everything and improve our intellect. Reading books also boosts our memory and improves our reading, writing and speaking skills. That is why children are always encouraged to read from a young age.

I love to read books and I grew up reading a variety of books, some fiction and others non-fictional. Fairy tales were my favourite. Reading about the different types of fairies, fairy godmothers, kind princesses, evil queens, witches and wizards was magical in itself. I also liked to read mythological books and found the tales from Greek and Roman mythologies pretty interesting.

As I grew up, my interest shifted to non-fictional books like biographies and autobiographies of famous people as well as memoirs and scientific journals. However, throughout the years, there is one series of books that has remained my favourite and that is the Harry Potter series by J. K. Rowling.

When I was eight years old, I received the first book of the Harry Potter series, ‘Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s stone’, as a birthday present from my aunt. I was delighted. That book introduced me to a whole new world – a world full of magical beings. As I read the book, my mind conjured up images of what that world might look like and my imagination exploded.

The book made me feel a range of emotions. I cried reading about Harry’s suffering. I smiled when Hagrid saved Harry. I felt so happy when Harry, Ron and Hermione became friends and I sat there holding my breath as the end approached.

After I finished the first book, I couldn’t wait to buy the following ones. However, even to this day, the first book holds a special place in my heart. Harry Potter books introduced us to the wizarding world and its workings. They taught us about friendship, about having fun as well as working hard. They also taught us that no matter how strong the evil force is, the good always wins in the end.

I also have many other books that I like. Some of them are ‘Wings of fire’ and ‘Ignited minds’ by Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, ‘Gitanjali’ by Rabindranath Tagore, “To kill a Mockingbird” by Harper Lee and ‘Wuthering Heights’ by Emily Bronte.

I have adopted a very simplistic approach to writing these essays for a better understanding of all kinds of students. The Book I Like The Most

Life for most of us is pretty hectic. Nothing exciting or adventurous ever seems to happen. The solution to this is to read books.

Books are an important medium, suitable for all age groups. Even elders read books to escape from their hectic schedule sometimes.

A book that makes a person smile and relieves the boredom and dullness is worth reading. Today it is said that books are not about reading alone, but also for gaining some useful knowledge from them.

Some days back, the Book Fair was held in Pragati Maidan. I, along with a few of my friends went to purchase books. Although I purchased many books the book I liked most was in English by Mrs. Gaskell. It was a fiction book- Ruth. It has been published by J.M. Dents and Sons Ltd. It was first published in the year 1967, and since then it has been republished every year.

Since I had heard so much about Mrs. Gaskell’s work. I knew that Ruth would not disappoint me which was true enough.

Ruth, the heroine of the book deals with a love affair at fifteen which brings humiliation and a life of secrecy for the little girl as she is reduced by the man of upper class society.

This story also reflects that the classes appear in every country be it India or any other country. It is one of the world’s most familiar stories, but the author has treated a very sober theme with freshness and with considerable courage having regard to the time (the time of England revolution) and the theme (An unwed girl with a child).

It not only used to happen then, but now also it continues i.e., the exploitation of the weaker class by the upper class.

After reading this book, I have decided that I will work for the rights of women.

So, I can say that this book has changed my whole outlook towards the life.

Essay on The Book I Like Most

Students are often asked to write an essay on The Book I Like Most in their schools and colleges. And if you’re also looking for the same, we have created 100-word, 250-word, and 500-word essays on the topic.

Let’s take a look…

100 Words Essay on The Book I Like Most

Introduction.

The book I like most is “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone” by J.K. Rowling.

Why I Like It

Harry, Hermione, and Ron are my favorite characters. They’re brave and kind.

Reading this book is always a joy. It’s my most cherished book.

250 Words Essay on The Book I Like Most

Conceptual brilliance.

Orwell’s dystopian world, where Big Brother incessantly watches over citizens, is a chilling exploration of totalitarianism. The book’s conceptual brilliance lies in its depiction of a society where individuality is obliterated, and conformity is enforced through psychological manipulation. The concept of “Newspeak” – a language designed to limit free thought – is a stark reminder of the power of language in shaping perceptions.

Characterization

The protagonist, Winston Smith, is an embodiment of rebellion in the face of oppression. His futile resistance against the Party’s tyranny is both heartbreaking and inspiring. His relationship with Julia serves as a beacon of hope amidst the pervasive gloom, further underscoring the human spirit’s resilience.

Relevance Today

“1984” is not just a work of fiction; it’s a prophetic commentary on the dangers of absolute power and the erosion of privacy. In today’s digital age, where surveillance is ubiquitous, Orwell’s vision seems eerily prescient. The book urges us to safeguard our freedom and be vigilant against any form of totalitarian control.

In conclusion, “1984” is a book I cherish for its profound insights into human nature, society, and power dynamics. It’s a timeless masterpiece that has not only enriched my understanding of literature but also shaped my perspective on the world around me.

500 Words Essay on The Book I Like Most

The realm of literature is vast, encompassing countless books that have shaped minds, influenced cultures, and altered perceptions. Among such a diverse range, the book I appreciate most is George Orwell’s “1984.” This dystopian novel is a profound exploration of totalitarianism, individuality, and the power of language, which resonates deeply with me.

The Resonance of Dystopia

The struggle for individuality.

The protagonist, Winston Smith, is a cog in the machine of this oppressive regime, yet he yearns for individuality and personal freedom. His struggle against the system, his pursuit of truth, and his yearning for love, all represent the human spirit’s resilience in the face of adversity. Winston’s journey is a testament to the indomitable human spirit, a theme that resonates with me. It encourages introspection about the value we place on our individuality and freedom, and the lengths we are willing to go to preserve them.

The Power of Language

Orwell’s “1984” also delves into the power of language and its manipulation for political ends. The concept of “Newspeak,” a language designed by the regime to limit free thought, is a potent symbol of linguistic control. This exploration of language and its potential for manipulation is particularly relevant in today’s era of misinformation and propaganda. It encourages critical thinking about the information we consume and the importance of linguistic precision.

The books I like most

Assuming that the writer is a student and not a collector, there are three main principles to observe in the formation of a personal library.

There are :-

  • Books are for use, not decoration ! A knowledgeable collector will have many fine editions, but it is quite useless merely to buy books for the sake for their cost or expensive printing and binding.
  • Do not collect books for the sake of doing so, otherwise they will clutter your shelves and mostly remain unread.
  • Buy nothing second-rate, but rather buy cheap editions of good works, many of which are available in paper-back form nowadays.

The private reader’s library should be divisible into four main categories; reference, special subjects, hobbies and games and novels.

It is true that any good library contains all the encyclopedias and reference books you need. So why go to the expense of buying them ? Al the same, a student cannot always work in a library, neither can he visit one every time he wants to look up a reference, so it is advisable to have one or two key  tomes on your shelves. These will vary slightly according to your special subjects. If you are an English language and literature student, you would profit from getting the following small reference section together :-

Oxford Companion to English Literature.

Oxford Book of English Verse.

Oxford Book of English Prose.

Gurney-Benham’s Dictionary of Quotations.

Concise Oxford Dictionary.

Brewer’s Dictionary of Phrase and Fable

The bulk of your library should consist of books on your special subject(s).

The basic textbooks are essential and bought or borrowed as a matter of routine, so your own library should consist of standard ‘background’ books. These will enable you to keep a true perspective in your subject and also help you in the understanding of the set books. A student of 20th Century European history would probably want to collect Sir Winston Churchill’s war books and the memoirs of some of the great generals and statesmen. But he would beware of ‘historical fiction’, especially the romantic type !

Very few of us have no hobby, game or ‘outside interest’, and there is a great variety of books in the market written to help us carry out these various activities better. They are generally cheap, an form an attractive addition to the personal library.

Today, many people collect ‘paperbacks’ by the dozen, novels and novelettes, to be given or thrown away as soon as read. there is no harm in this form of relaxation, provided it does not supersede the reading of good fiction and study in general. Most paperbacks are not worth keeping in a personal library. The simple test is ‘shall I ever want to read this book again’. If so, keep the book, but the answer is generally no ! Good novels, however, especially those of social importance or significance, form an essential part of a well-balanced selection of books.

10 Lines, Short And Long Essay On My Favourite Book For Kids

Shaili Contractor

Key Points To Note While Writing An Essay On My Favourite Book For Lower Primary Classes

Importance of books in life, 10 lines on ‘my favourite book’ for kids, a paragraph on ‘my favourite book’ for kids, short essay on ‘my favourite book’ in english for kids, long essay on ‘my favourite book’ for children, what will your child learn by writing an essay on ‘my favourite book’.

Reading is the most effective learning method, and we all know the value of children reading literature. In truth, books have always been and will remain the greatest path to knowledge. If you’ve ever pondered how to start reading without becoming weary, this is your opportunity to do so. Continue reading these sample essays on ‘My Favourite Book’ for classes 1, 2, and 3 or ‘The Book I Like The Most’, and get some ideas for writing an essay on your own.

Essay writing on ‘my favourite book’ is easy. Let us guide you with some points to remember.

  • Begin by writing an introduction about the author and some background information on the book.
  • Then, in a clean, straightforward manner, compose the primary text, and end with a proper conclusion.

Books are vital in each child’s life. They bring kids to a fantasy universe, introduce them to the big world out there, and improve their reading and writing skills, memory, and cognition. We cannot emphasise the value of literature in the kids’ lives as it expands their minds and serves as portals into the universe surrounding us. They leave a long-lasting impression on children.

Younger children can be expected to write their essay in a simple format. Guide them to jot down their points and write them out in grammatically correct sentences. Below are ten points on the essay for class 1 & class 2:

  • Books are a treasure trove of knowledge.
  • Reading books is an excellent habit that gives us insight and expertise.
  • They help us improve our brain power and expand our vocabulary.
  • I like reading books about fairy tales.
  • Fairy tale books have fascinating stories about fairies and their companions in fairyland.
  • I read these books every night before going to sleep.
  • The book I’m currently reading has some lovely stories with big pictures!
  • The book’s illustration makes it more enjoyable to read.
  • The pictures in the book make it easy to imagine the fantasy world.
  • My friends and I always exchange our books, so we get to read many new books.

Books are our great buddies since they provide all the information about the world. One of my favourite books is ‘The Jungle Book’.  Rudyard Kipling wrote ‘The Jungle Book’ in 1894. The story revolves around Mowgli, a human kid raised by wolves in a wild forest.

Bagheera, the loving panther, finds a small boy in the jungle and delivers him to the wolf pack. Mama wolf then raises Mowgli as her baby. Daddy wolf teaches Mowgli all the skills of the forest. Mowgli understands the jungle laws and spends most of his time with Baloo and Bagheera. Sher Khan, a dangerous tiger, wants to eat Mowgli. So Mowgli thinks of a plan to rescue himself and succeeds. Everybody in the forest gets happy.

Reading is something I enjoy doing. I’ve read many novels. But, one book holds a special place in my heart, my favourite book, Panchatantra, written by Vishnu Sharma. It has many stories with pictures. Every story has a moral which teaches something good and meaningful in life. I enjoy reading picture books, and this book offered me a variety of stories.

One of my favourite stories from Panchatantra is ‘The Foolish Lion And The Clever Rabbit’. Once upon a time, there was a greedy lion who used to kill animals. Everyone was afraid of him. To reduce the senseless killing, the animals requested the lion to spare them the fear and decided to send one animal to the lion each day. The lion agreed to this agreement. One day, the animals sent a rabbit. He was an intelligent creature. He reached the lion’s cave late and told him that another big lion had stopped him on the way. He told the greedy lion that this second lion was challenging him. The lion felt very angry and decided to teach a good lesson to the other lion. He asked the rabbit to take him to the place where he met the other lion. The clever rabbit took him to a well and told him that the other lion lived in that well. When the greedy lion looked inside the well, he saw his own reflection and mistook it for the second lion. He jumped into the well to attack his competitor but drowned. The rabbit saved himself and the entire forest because of his quick wit and cleverness.

There are many such stories of wit and intelligence in the Panchatantra books. They introduce us to virtues such as compassion, bravery, wisdom, mental presence, and togetherness.

Books are loyal companions that will never abandon you. This holds true for me because you can always find books with and around me.

Books can transport us to other universes without leaving our current location. Books also help us expand our creativity. My family and teachers always motivated me to read and instilled in me the value of books. The book I like most is the Panchatantra. It is an extremely fascinating book. I have finished the book, but I still continue to read it because it is so entertaining!

One of the most prominent Indian authors and scholars, Vishnu Sharma, wrote Panchatantra in Sanskrit in the 3rd century BC. The book was later translated into many different languages. It is a collection of several stories. Vishnu Sharma has done a good job of giving moral life lessons by showcasing the activity of animals. I enjoy the book because it has many stories I love and cherish.

My mother bought this book for me as my birthday present. When I first read this book, it captured my attention instantly. Panchatantra has a unique narration which makes it my favourite book. It teaches us how humble, loving, and caring people always succeed. The book also showcases how bad qualities like cunningness, jealousy, anger and cheating can get you into trouble.

Panchatantra is a narrative of several animal characters in various stories, including a lion named Pingalaka, two bulls named Karnataka and Sanjivaka, a fox named Damanaka, deer named Chars, and so many others. These animals showcase human behaviour that we come across in our daily life.

Even though the book has a variety of stories, the story of The Crab and The Stork is close to my heart. It teaches us about presence of mind and intelligence. The story begins with a stork that was searching for food but could not find any as he was old. Finally, he plans to catch a fish to eat. He goes to a pond and pretends to be sad and depressed. Seeing him gloomy, a fish and a crab ask him why he is upset. The stork makes up a story that humans were going to inhabit the pond to grow crops. They are convinced by this story and are worried about how to stop this. The stork takes all the fish, frogs and other marine animals out of the pond, and slyly uses them for his meal. Finally, it is the turn of the crab to go with the stork, but the crab is aware that his friends are dead. So, the crab uses his intelligence, grabs the stork’s neck, and kills him to save himself.

Panchatantra stories like this one have taught me to think before taking any action. The book educates me on optimism and how to see the brightness at the end of the tunnel. It has made me realise the value of being good to all in any situation.

Thinking about their favourite book will make children mentally revisit all the books they have read and enjoyed. It will also encourage them to analyse what they like about each of the books as they choose their favourite one and think of points to write about. Moreover, as children discuss their assignments in class, it will expose them to a whole new variety of books that they would like to add to their reading wishlist. This assignment will also make children understand the importance of reading for their overall learning. It will also give them good writing practice with a topic that they can enjoy. The samples given here will give your child an idea of how to write this essay independently. So what are you waiting for? Ask your child to pick their favourite book and compose an amazing essay on their own!

The person I like Most Paragraph Essay 1

Introduction.

In this long life, we meet a lot of people. Some people stay forever, and some come for a minimal period. It is estimated that we almost meet 80000 people in our life; out of them, only 14 are those who stay with us forever out of those 14. Only 5 are the people who love us unconditionally. Whenever somebody asks me about who is the person in my life that I like the most, I start thinking about the person who stayed with me whenever I needed someone awake the whole night for me who loved me unconditionally and will continue to do so forever  he is my dad.

The person I like most – My dad

My dad is the person in my life that I like the most. There are a lot of reasons to say why he is the one whom I love the most. He has dedicated his whole life just for the sake of his family. Sometimes he did not buy new clothes so that we can buy new clothes. He sacrifices his dreams so that we may live our dreams. When I am asleep, he is working. He is the gold that I got in my life. Every day when I wake up, the first thing is I thank god for being born as his son, and the second thing I do is pray to him to give me power and blessing so that soon I can make my father free from all these responsibilities. I have a dream that a time will come when we will rest the whole buy himself whatever he wants, and I will work for him.

There were times in life when I was very low for myself regarding my status regarding my studies my future and I used to cry sitting alone at that time there was always a hand on my shoulder, and he was my dad. He’s my only role model and my only inspiration, and I wish to be like him. He was always behind me whenever I need him. He’s my god and my almighty. It doesn’t matter how busy he might be. He never forgets to call me. He makes a phone call to me every day. When I fail at doing things, he is the one who tries his best to help me stand up again and motivates me to work even harder. Without any hesitation, I can share my every problem with him because I know only he can give solution to all my questions. Infect he is the solution to my every problem.

He taught me the importance of hard work and dedication. He taught me to be self-sufficient in life. He has taught me what life is all about. Whenever I go to him with some problem, he just gives me a direction and left me to decide by myself about the solutions.

Dad is the person who sacrifices his dreams for the sake of our desires. My dad is the strength and faith of my family. He is my best friend and my companion for life. I wish that I can come across the life I want, and I may become capable enough to fulfill every dream of my dad. I remember that time when he only used to eat breakfast the whole day. The way he supports everyone is incredible. Not only for me, but he has the tendency and heart to help everybody that seeks help from him.

My dad is a great singer. His hobby is to sing, and yes, he sings very well. Whenever there is an occasion in the family, he always steps up on the stage and starts singing. He is a hilarious man. The way he handles everything, the bad or good, is incredible. He has taught me to help everybody, to respect everybody regardless of their age or anything. One thing that he always says is that every person should have an artistic hobby in life it could be painting, singing, dancing, etc. because whenever a person is going through some bad times, these hobbies will help him or her to cope with stress and will make them feel better. He never treated me like a son; instead, he treated me like his friend. The way he talks with me is like he is talking to a friend. One thing he taught me is that I should never in my life break someone’s heart. He is the most humble man I have seen in my life. My dad plays volleyball very well. He was the captain of his team while representing his team for a state tournament. Whatever he does, he put his full potential and effort to make it best. He is devoted to his family and society. He helps everybody in the organization.

One thing that I love about him the most is his discipline. It doesn’t matter how busy he might be. He never skips his morning exercise. Every morning he performs yoga and goes for a brisk walk. He taught me the importance of mental fitness, along with physical fitness. He always says that trust yourself and become whatever you want to be.

He believes in living a simple and sober life. He never gets attracted to luxury or any of those useless things. Whatever he earns, he takes out some amount of money for some social cause. The taught me why it is essential to help others. Besides being a good father or a husband, he is a beautiful and noble human being. He supports me in my every step and tells me about the wrong I am doing and the ways by which I can be better. He has always supported my mother in everything. Whether it be household work or social problems. Even after getting success in life, he hasn’t changed his nature.

My father is the best person in my life. He taught me what life is and the perfect way to live it. His values keep inspiring me to do good and become a better person in life. I will try to follow the path taught by him forever.

The person I like Most &The person I love Most Paragraph Essay 2

When this question is asked to someone, the general answer most will give is their parents. When I first came across this question, I was a bit startled when I realized that my answer is not similar to most of the people. So, I paused for a bit and thought about my answer and then realized that yes, it is true.

The person I like the most is my best friend . In fact, along with like, I admire my best friend. My best friend has been the constant pillar in my life that stayed with me till today through thick and thin. So, when I first realized that my answer is nowhere near like the others, I actually was surprised but there is no point in denying the truth after all if I can’t accept the truth about myself then I can never accept anyone else’s point of view.

So, here is the truth. My best friend after knowing this little fact will scream so loud that I am pretty sure everyone in our city will be able to hear it.

The question that why exactly I like my best fried the most arises almost instantly. The fact is there are so many reasons that I can’t possibly choose only one or two among them. However, I would list as many reasons as I can and will try to explain them too.

One of the reasons is that he is a good person. Everyone will think that as he is my best friend, I am saying this but the truth is that is not the fact at all. I admire him because he won’t hesitate to help anyone during their time of need. I can testify this as he had helped me so many times that I have lost count.

Whenever in whatever situation I needed help, he always helped. With him in my life I never felt alone. If I am sad then he will cheer me up or if I need someone to listen to me, he will be there and it doesn’t matter that it is 3 a.m. in the morning or midnight.

I remember one incident. I was upset about something my classmate said about me and when he found out, he came to my house with a bunch of chocolates to listen to me. He has been my constant rock in my life.

Another thing I like about him is his personality. He has an odd combination of childlike, goofy and serious personality. I till this date can’t figure out how he had all these personalities.

He sometime has a childlike ball of energy that likes to bug me with anything and everything and sometime he is the serious guy who needs me to mature a bit in life. When time comes, he even whacks my head if I am doing something wrong. He won’t hesitate to tell me to get my acts straight.

Most of the time he also acts like a retard kid who is high on sugar and sometimes I do worry that he is actually a retard. If he finds out I said this about him then he will simply say that it took me too long to figure this simple fact out.

He is also stubborn like a kid and also acts childishly sometimes. I personally think that he is a 10-year-old kid trapped in an adult’s body. He is sometimes too cute for his own good and rest of the time too stubborn to make me want to slap him (which I do by the way).

Another thing I admire about him is the way he handles a difficult situation with ease. When the situation arises, he steps up as a leader and handle the situation with absolute ease. He is a great leader and has no problem with leading.

He does not discriminate between his subordinates and treats everyone equally and divide the whole work among them with extreme precision. He respects people and knows to give compliment where it’s due and also won’t stop scolding someone if that person does not do the job given to him.

He is the kind of person that likes to take everyone along with him and reaches the goal together with everybody. He has all the qualities of a leader which I really admire about him. If he is determined to achieve a goal then he will do that along with everybody and won’t let anyone give up along the journey either. When a work is given to him, everyone knows that he will complete it with absolute precision.

He loves to protect everyone. He loves the people that are close to him and won’t tolerate anyone hurting those persons. He is protective even about his friends.

He is also supportive. He will encourage me to try out new things as without trying out different things I cannot say that I don’t like them. When I will try out new stuff (doesn’t matter how small or big the thing is), he will be there beside me on every step of the way and I don’t have the fear that he will leave me in the middle of the road.

He has so many qualities that I haven’t listed here. He is an amazing person and I like him as a person. Even if he weren’t my best friend, I still would have admired him because people, who spend a few minutes with him, cannot help but admire him. As his best friend I am proud to have him in my life.

He is a great person and his parents are immensely proud of him. If there were people more like him in this world, then it would have been really great as there would have been more people who are willing to help a stranger in their time of need. He has many admirable qualities and here I have listed very few of them.

Essay on My Favourite Book 200 words – Essay 1

‘my favourite book – palace of illusions’.

I have read several books. However, none has captivated my interest as the Palace of Illusions. Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni writes the book. Born in 1956, Chitra is a well-known Indian American author and poet. An alumnus of the University of Calcutta and the Wright State University, United States, Chitra received a Ph.D. in English from California.

Her book, The Palace of Illusions, narrates the story of Panchali from the epic story of Mahabharat. Chitra has given a feminist interpretation of this epic saga through her narrator, Panchali. The novel focuses on the life of Panchali. It covers those aspects of her life that were missed in the other adaptations of Mahabharat. It gives a detailed account of Panchaali’s life from when she was born. Her birth was no less than a miracle. She was born magically in the fire.

Panchali was the daughter of a wealthy king. She went on to marry the five Pandavas. After her marriage, her hardships have been written at length in the novel. The challenges of living in exile, her relationship with her husband and mother-in-law, and her equation with Lord Krishna have all been covered in the novel.

Panchali is a charismatic and daring character. I loved reading about her. Chitra has portrayed the character and also depicted the events very well.

I love reading romance novels and one of the best I have read so far is 2 states by Chetan Bhagat. I love the central characters of this novel and how love evolves between them. The novel is said to be partly autobiographical. Bhagat’s own love story inspired him to write this book. The book was loved by the masses so much that it was even adapted into a movie.

The Interesting Story of 2 States

The story is about a young Punjabi boy, Krish, and a beautiful South Indian girl, Ananya. The two studies at IIM Ahmedabad. They become good friends and spend a lot of time together. Soon fall in love with each other. They want to get married but cannot foresee the difficulties ahead. The problem begins when they introduce their parents to each other.

The two families are from different cultural backgrounds and find it hard to get along. Krish and Ananya try hard to pacify the situation and establish a bond between the two. However, things go out of hand, and they decide to part ways. They begin to concentrate on their respective careers, but it is hard. It is difficult for them to forget each other. Finally, things take a turn for the good, and they reunite.

I love the deep bond between Krish and Ananya. Chetan Bhagat has brought these characters to life. They seem just meant for each other. Other characters in the story are also quite strong and opinionated. It is interesting to read about each one of them.

I love this book. I have read it thrice and can read it over and over again. The characters of this story seem so real that I start living with them every time I read this book. I have also seen the movie based on this book and enjoyed it thoroughly.

My Favourite Book Paragraph For Students

Essay on My Favourite Book 400 words – Essay 3

‘my favourite book – a suitable boy.

One of my all-time favourite books is Vikram Seth’s A Suitable Boy. The story is lengthy but doesn’t get boring at any point. It is one of the longest Indian novels ever published in the English language in a single volume. It contains as many as 1349 pages. I love the theme as well as the characters of this story. It took me almost two months to finish reading this novel.

The Interesting Storyline

The story is set in India, which recently attained independence from British Rule. It narrates the story of four families. The story set in the fictional town of Brahmpur focuses on the character of Mrs. Rupa Mehra, who is eagerly looking for a match for her younger daughter, Lata. As I began reading the book, it reminded me of Pride and also Prejudice.

The character of Mrs. Rupa Mehra resembled that of Elizabeth’s mother in the novel. The central theme seemed similar too. However, I like A Suitable Boy more as it is set in India and is more relatable. Seth shares that this work has largely been inspired by the Chinese novel, The Story of the Stone, authored by Cao Xuegin.

I particularly loved Lata’s character. She is a young girl who is daring and likes to make her decisions on her own. She does not conform to the rules set by her mother and the opinion of her brother. The difficulties she faces in due course of the story and the way she tries to overcome them are interesting. Her character inspires me to stand for what I feel is right.

The caste and class tension and the post-partition politics form the novel’s backdrop, making it more interesting.

About the Author – Vikram Seth

Vikram Seth, born in Calcutta in 1952, is an Indian author and poet. He belongs to a well-educated and respectable Indian family. His mother, Leila Seth, became the first Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court. Seth has written several exciting novels and poems.

His writings have been immensely appreciated. He has won some prestigious awards for his work. These include the Padma Shri, WH Smith Literary Award, Sahitya Academy Award, Crossword Book Award, and also the Pravasi Bhartiya Samman.

I love Seth’s portrayal of the changing family values and relationships in independent India. Therefore the social and political issues that the country was gripped with post-independence have been interwoven appropriately to set the novel’s tone.

Essay on Reading is a Good Habit

Essay on My Favourite Book 500 words – Essay 4

‘my favourite book – the room on the roof’.

I read a lot. It is my favourite hobby. I keep reading books from different authors, but my favourite ones are those written by the famous Indian author Ruskin Bond. Since my childhood, I have been reading his books and have always loved them. One of my favourite books is The Room on the Roof.

The Storyline

The Room on the Roof is the story of an orphaned Anglo-Indian boy, Rusty. He lives with Mr. Harrison. Therefore they reside in a European colony in Dehradun. Mr. Harrison wants Rusty to turn out into a sophisticated Englishman. However he tries to keep him away from the Indians living in their vicinity.

Rusty, on the other hand, loves playing with his Indian friends. He enjoys their company thoroughly. Unable to bear Mr. Harrison’s dominating attitude and rules, Rusty runs away to live with his friends. He starts living with his friends and becomes dependent on them for his routine needs.

Rusty explores so much about India and the Indian culture as he begins to live away from Mr. Harrison. He loves this newfound freedom. But soon realizes that he cannot go on this way for long. He understands that he needs to work to survive.

Soon, he begins to give English lessons to Kishen Kapoor, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Kapoor. They provide him with accommodation and food in return for his service. He starts living in a room on their roof. Eventually, he finds out that Mr. Kapoor is a drunkard. His wife, Meena, is 20 years younger than him. Rusty feels infatuated with Meena, and she reciprocates the feelings. The two grow quite close. For the first time in his life, Rusty feels elated.

However, his happiness is short-lived as Meena dies in a car accident. Rusty is devastated at the news, and so is Kishen. After this incident, Kishen goes to live with his aunt, and Rusty is left alone. To overcome the grief and start life afresh, Rusty decides to get settled in England. Before leaving for England, Rusty meets Kishen. He learns that Rusty has become a thief while Mr. Kapoor has remarried. He takes it as his responsibility to help Kishen come out of the dark world of crime. However he advises Kishen to lead a respectable life.

I love the Protagonist of the Book

I loved the character of Rusty. His journey took me through a roller coaster of emotions. I felt bad about his condition as a kid. The way Mr. Harrison treats him is heart-wrenching. I loved it when he ran away from Mr. Harrison’s house and experienced freedom. I also liked the equation between Meena and Rusty. However, the demise of Meena and the condition of Rusty towards the end saddened me yet again.

Ruskin Bond – The Famous Writer

Ruskin Bond is an Indian author of British descent. He resides in Mussoorie, India. Has written numerous books. He is known for writing some of the best children’s books. However has received a lot of appreciation for his work. He has been awarded the Sahitya Academy Award for his contribution to literature.

The story of Rusty has touched my heart. I have read this book many times. I love the various phases in Rusty’s life and also how he deals with the various challenges he faces.

‘my favourite book – the god of small things.

The God of Small Things is one of the best books written by an Indian author. This was the first novel of Arundhati Roy. It won her the Booker Prize for Fiction in the year 1997. It also happens to be one of my favourite books. I love its plot, characters, and theme.

About the Author – Arundhati Roy

Arundhati Roy was born in Shillong, Meghalaya. Rajib Roy’s father was a tea plantation manager, and her mother, Mary Roy, was a women’s rights activist. Her parents divorced when she was two years old. She lived with her mother. They settled in Kerala, which was her mother’s hometown. She has studied architecture. She rose to fame with the release of her debut novel, The God of Small Things which became a best seller. It won her many accolades.

Roy is also a political activist. She has been working on environmental and also human rights issues.

The God of Small Things

The God of Small Things narrates the story of a family living in Kerela in the 1960s. It covers several issues, including the evil caste system and also communism. Is the story of Esthappen and Rahel. It shares the joys and sorrows they experienced during their childhood and how the turn of events during their early life evolved them as individuals.

The story moves to and fro, depicting the events occurring in the life of the twins when they were seven years old and as they turned 31. The story is about a dysfunctional family. The relationship between the characters is quite complicated. It is something that passed from generation to generation. Pappachi, the grandfather of Rahel and also Estha, could not do well professionally, and he takes out all his anger and frustration on his wife. He beats her throughout his life. The life of their kids, Ammu and Chako, also screwed up.

Chacko’s wife Margaret betrays him. She falls for another man and leaves Chacko for him. However, soon after, her lover dies. Chacko and Margaret have a daughter named Sophie, who dies a tragic death. Ammu marries a man named Baba, an incompetent and abusive person. Their marriage also falls apart soon. The two have twins, Rahel and Estha.

The main part of the story begins when Sophie, Rahel, and Estha meet. The twins are seven years old at that time. The plot gets interesting with several twists and turns. Ammu’s affair with a low caste man, Velutha, Sophie’s tragic death, Chacko’s hatred for Ammu, and also all that follows keep the readers hooked. It is sad to read how Estha and Rahel have to part ways. The twins who were so close to each other raised in different places and never get to see others for years. At last, they meet and realize how much they love and need each other.

The communist tension, the stress within the family, social issues, and the complicated relationships all written precisely and in a way that the interest is kept alive until the end.

I love the portrayal of the characters. They are all different from each other and have an interesting stories of their own. I especially love the twins. My heart goes out to them. They had a traumatic childhood because of their abusive father and frustrated mother. Their lives didn’t turn out to be great even as they grew up. Therefore only solace they found was in each other’s company which they realized as they reunited after years.

The novel touched my heart. It made me wonder how the rules made by society almost ruin people’s life. I experienced several feelings such as anger, disgust, joy, and love as I went through this book.

Long Essay on My Favourite Book 100, 150, 200, 250 Words for Kids and Students in English

I love reading books, they are indeed my ‘best friends’. It is a tedious task to choose a good book because thousands of books are published every year. I always take the suggestions made by my teachers and parents into account while choosing a book. Some days back, my uncle gave me one as a birthday gift as he knows my love for books. It is called The Mahabharata’ and has been written in English by Anand Sagar Chowdhry and published by Goodwill Publishing House, Delhi.

Essay on “My Favorite Book-The Mahabharata” In English

When I went through the first chapter, a fascinating story unfolded itself. King Satyavan married the daughter of a washerman and his son from the first wife took a pledge to remain a bachelor all his life. He came to be known as Bhishma Pitamah. The story was so eventful that it was very difficult to keep pace with the individual events.

The battle between the Kauravas and Pandavas is so well known that it need not be repeated. In the middle of the epic stands The Gita which serves as a lighthouse. It sheds light on the theme of the whole story. The language is so poetic that one floats in its divine stream. Lord Krishna tells us to perform our duties without having any expectations about the rewards.

We should forget the sense of affection as it blurs our minds while performing our duties and meeting out justice. We should strive for excellence in whatever we do. This body is short-lived but the soul is eternal. It never dies. It keeps on changing bodies just as we keep on changing clothes. Fire cannot burn the soul nor can the sword cut it. When death is a must, why should we be afraid of it?

It was this “celestial song” ‘Gita’ that helped Arjuna to perform his duty boldly and fearlessly, keeping his personal affections at bay. The author also tells us that the struggle always continues in our hearts. Whenever we are in doubt about whether we should do something or not, we should seek guidance from The Gita.

The Mahabharata has changed the whole course of my life and I wish that it should be read by everyone. The book is especially recommended for those young people who have yet to begin their careers.

Short Essay On My Favourite Book Panchatantra In Hindi

मेरी प्रिय पुस्तक | Paragraph on My Favourite Book in Hindi

English Essay on “Season I like Most” Complete Essay, Paragraph, Speech for Class 9, 10, 12 Students

Season i like most.

Every season has got its own specialty. In summer, it is too hot and in winter, it is shivering cold but I like most the spring season for its beauty which gives joy and pleasure. Even a stone heart can be melted by its beauty in this season.

It is said,” The spring is the queen of all. It provides enormous joy and happiness to everyone.” Barren and uncultivated grounds turn like a bride in a red garment. Trees shading brings for the new buds. Bees and butterflies dance and it is made pleasant by the song of the cuckoo. Pretty cold disappears and everywhere moderate climate is seen. Rivers look transparent where fishes dance and attract everyone. In such a beautiful scene all the people enjoy this season and so do I.

Seeing the beauty of spring, many great poets composed their poems in praise of the spring. Shakespeare, Milton, Johnson all described its beauty in their poems. It is the season of affection and love. It is a meeting place in the grass of the garden.

It is also said that this season is the best for getting marriage. It is the holy season too because Lord Ram’s incarnation was held in this season. The most precious puja for students also falls in this season.

Finally, this season is the symbol of joy, pleasure, happiness, beauty, and love and the whole nature looks beautiful and everyone likes this season very much.
