AIIMS PhD Admission 2023 will be organised by All India Institutes of Medical Sciences to provide various medical courses. The application process for AIIMS PhD 2023 has started. The application form can be filled online on the AIIMS website. The last date to apply is July 19, 2023.
The entrance exam for AIIMS PhD 2023 will be held on July 24, 2023. The exam will be conducted in a CBT (computer-based test) mode.
The results of the AIIMS PhD 2023 entrance exam will be announced on August 12, 2023. The shortlisted candidates will be called for the interview round.
The interview round for AIIMS PhD 2023 will be held in August 2023. The final list of selected candidates will be announced in September 2023.

AIIMS PhD Admission 2023 Eligibility Criteria

Aspirants for the PhD courses at AIIMS must possess the following qualifications.

Medical Education qualification: MBBS/BDS with 50% min. or MD/MS/MDS/DM/MCh or Diplomate of NBE.
Nursing Qualification- candidates holding M.Sc degree with 50% min. in Nursing speciality may also be able to apply.
Non- medical candidates- candidates who are not from medical background must have attained a minimum of 60% in a valid 2 years Master degree.

Note: The Candidates who possess M.Sc/ M.tech. Degree & BAMS will be eligible for the Non-medical qualification category. Do make sure to check the eligibility before applying for an exam.

Method of Cut-Off

At least 50% in each stage of the written test (Stage I and II) to be eligible for Stage III. Special weightage (described in the prospectus) to be added after determining eligibility. Candidates 3 times the number of seats advertised will be called for Stage III (Department clinical/ practical/lab based assessment carrying 20 marks)

Method of resolving ties: The tie case will be resolved according to age (Date of birth), the older candidate shall get preference over the younger one.

AIIMS PhD Admission 2023 Counselling

Qualifiers of the AIIMS PhD 2023 selection tests are offered admission to the PhD programs through counselling. Candidates are advised to refer to the official website regularly after the release of results for the latest updates regarding counselling for admissions.

While counselling the selected aspirants need to carry their documents for verification purpose.
Admission is conducted through counselling on the basis of merit only.
Candidates are offered seats based on the preference of subject & availability of seats in the preferred subject.

AIIMS Invites Online Application For PhD Program July 2023 Session, Apply by 16th August 2023

Delhi: All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) has invited online applications for PhD Program July 2023 session. A total of 121 PhD seats across various departments are available.

The detailed schedule is as follows –

1. Last date for Registration of Online application - 16.08.2023

2. Status of application & Rejected application with the reason for rejection. Applicants are required to check on 21.08.2023 through the Registration Status Tab of their My Page after Login - 21.08.2023

3. Last date for submission of required documents for Regularization of Rejected Applications. No Correspondence will be entertained after this date under any circumstances, and candidates are requested not to contact the Examination Section - 24.08.2023

4. Last date for Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India to forward an approval regarding “No Objection” to the Foreign National for appearing in the PhD Entrance Examination for JUL 2023 session - 24.08.2023

5. Finalization of Centres and allotment of Roll Nos./Admit Card on website - 28.08.2023

6. Written Test through (CBT) Online mode - 02.09.2023

7. Excepted date of declaration of Result (Stage-I&II) - 08.09.2023

8. Departmental Assessment (Stage-III) - 15.09.2023

9. Final Result - 20.09.2023

10. Last date for joining the PhD Program - 16.10.2023

Application Fee -

1. General/OBC Category: Rs.2000/- +Transaction Charges as applicable

2. SC/ST/EWS Category: Rs.1600/- +Transaction Charges as applicable

3. PWBD Candidates are exempted from any Fee

The candidates will have to pay the application fee via online mode (Debit/Credit Card/Net Banking).

All the candidates should read the prospectus and help manual carefully before starting online registration and ensure that no column is left blank. In the event of rejection of the application form, no correspondence/request for reconsideration will be entertained. They must download and take a print of the registration form. They should retain a copy of the registration form till the completion of the admission process.

No candidate should register more than three applications. All applicants are required to ensure that the Photo/Signature/Left Thumb Impression is uploaded according to the instructions provided in the Prospectus. Failure to do so may result in rejection of applications. Duplicate applications from any applicant will result in the cancellation of all such applications. No intimation regarding such summary rejections will be provided.

Candidates working under Central Govt./Semi Govt./Autonomous organization should submit their applications through the proper channel i.e. employer. They will be required to submit a ‘No Objection Certificate” from their employer before they are allowed to join the PhD Course.

Acknowledgment of successful Online Registration will be forwarded to the applicant’s Registered Email ID. The Registration Form will remain Under Review regarding uploaded images and eligibility. However, candidates can check the status of uploaded images within two working days from the date of online Registration is done and subsequent further status updates. The rejected images can be updated till the registration is open.

Candidates who are likely to complete the requisite qualification and degree by 16.08.2023 may also apply. All such candidates must submit a certificate on the letterhead of the College/Universities, signed and stamped by the Registrar/Dean/Principal confirming that the candidate is likely to complete the eligibility qualification by 16.08.2023. This does not apply to claiming Own Fellowship (OF), proof of which must be submitted before the last date of submission.

The candidates note that those who complete their requisite qualification after 16.08.2023 are not eligible to take this examination. Completing the requisite qualification means that the final result of the qualifying exam must have been declared before the last date specified.

Applicants from AIIMS Faculty/Scientific Staff for PhD registration will be considered in-service candidates as per guidelines laid down by AIIMS in this regard. A candidate is allowed to submit an application for one specialty/department only. CSIR-Net qualified may also be given Special weightage in the entrance examination as detailed in the method of selection part of guidelines on the basis of the production of – A detailed Electronic Certificate or Award letter.

Documents to be attached with the registration form –

Sponsored Candidates and Foreign nationals -

1. Sponsorship Certificate (in the case of the sponsored candidate) in the format prescribed in the Prospectus, duly completed and signed by the competent authority.

2. NOC from the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare in the case of Foreign Nationals.

3. Proof of award of eligible fellowship for non-medical candidates applying in OF category.

4. Candidates who qualify in Stages I and II and are called for Departmental Assessment must upload their self-attested/attested copies of certificates/documents in support of their educational qualifications, marks, date of birth, category, experience, etc. as mentioned in the Stage-I and II results on the website by logging in with their credentials. They must write their Candidate ID, Roll No. & concerned Department on the top of the first page of each certificate.

Sponsored/Foreign national category candidates should send the above documents in a separate envelope to the Asstt. Controller (Examinations), Examination Section, AIIMS, Ansari Nagar, New Delhi – 110608 indicating their Registration No. on the top of the envelope and on the documents followed by the name of the course/discipline applied for.

Eligibility criteria –

Eligibility for PhD course (Open candidates) -

A candidate seeking admission to the course of study leading to the award of a Degree of Doctor of Philosophy must possess at least one of the following qualifications:

Medical qualification –

MBBS/BDS with minimum 55% aggregate marks or MD/MS/MDS/DM/MCh in the subject concerned or Diplomat of National Board of Examination.

Candidates who have obtained any of these degrees from medical colleges which are not recognized by the Medical Council of India shall not be eligible to apply.

Nursing Qualification – Candidates holding an M.Sc. degree with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks in Nursing Speciality will also be eligible for Ph. D admission to the College of Nursing.

Non-Medical – For non-medical candidates eligibility shall be a Master’s Degree (two-year’s course) awarded by Indian Universities or equivalent in the subject as per the requirement of the project.

Candidates holding MSc (Other than M.Sc. Nursing) MTech. Degree, BAMS & BHMS will be eligible for the Non-Medical Qualification Category. Candidates having eligibility under the non-medical category should have at least 60% marks in the last eligibility examination qualified.

Special weightage for non-medical candidates -

Candidates who have qualified for the below listed National Entrance Tests leading to the award of a fellowship will be given special weightage in the entrance examination as detailed in the method of selection part of the guidelines. Such candidates should apply under the Own Fellowship (OF) category and upload proof of award of the qualifying fellowship in the online form.

2. ICMR – JRF

3. ICMR- SRF

4. DBT – JRF

5. NBHM screening test

6. INSPIRE fellowship

To be eligible for special weightage marks, ALL the following criteria must be fulfilled -

1. The result of the above-listed National Entrance Tests must have been declared between July 2021 and the last date of application i.e. 16.08.2023.

2. The award of the fellowship must be based on the result of the above-listed National Entrance Tests.

3. The fellowships should be tenable at AIIMS, New Delhi.

4. The letter of award of fellowship must be uploaded with the application form. Passing the listed National Entrance Tests is not acceptable as proof of award of fellowship.

Eligibility for OF seats - To be eligible for OF seats, candidates must fulfill any of the following criteria -

1. Candidates who have qualified for the National Entrance Tests leading to the award of a fellowship tenable at AIIMS AND are eligible for the award of special weightage marks as provided in section B (a) above.

2. In-service or sponsored candidates who will receive their salary/stipend from the sponsoring/parent organization.

Duration of the course –

The duration of the course will be the time period from registration to submission of the thesis. The minimum period of registration in respect of all the candidates who are registered for PhD will be three years. The maximum period of registration shall not exceed five years. Extension beyond the period of 5 years can be given for a maximum period of 6 months on the recommendation of the Dean Committee and final approval by the Dean/Director.

Further extension beyond 5 years & 6 months can only be given by the Academic Committee for a maximum period of 6 months in highly exceptional circumstances (like medical exigencies, natural calamities, etc.) and such extension may not be given retrospectively. The Chief guide of PhD Students shall give clear reason for the delay to the Academic Committee and must present the case before Academic Committee.

In case of extension beyond 6 years without justifiable reasons and circumstances as mentioned above, the PhD registration of the candidate shall be canceled. Failure to submit the thesis within the stipulated time period of maximum 5yrs. With extension after approval up to 5½ years (6 years in exceptional circumstances by prior approval of the Academic Committee) shall lead to the cancellation of PhD registration of the candidate.

Requirements for admission of "sponsored" candidates -

1. Candidates who are permanent employees of any Central/State Government/Armed Forces or the Public Sector Undertaking/Autonomous Body can be sponsored by the respective Government/Defence Authorities or the Competent Authorities of the PSU/Autonomous Body.

2. All eligible "sponsored" candidates will be called by the Institute for an entrance test.

3. Seats as shown in the prospectus are available for "sponsored" candidates. Sponsored candidates will be designated as "trainees".

4. The subject for which the candidate is being sponsored should be clearly specified in the sponsorship form by the sponsoring authority. The candidate can be sponsored for only one subject. The applications of those candidates who are sponsored for more than one subject will not be considered.

5. No "Sponsored" candidate will be paid any emoluments by the Institute during the training period. Such payments will be the responsibility of the sponsoring authority (i.e. Central/State Government or Defense Authorities).

6. Sponsored candidates must submit/send sponsorship certificates in original from their employers in the following format along with the application form to the Asstt. Controller(Examinations), AIIMS, Ansari Nagar, New Delhi-110029. Those who fail to do so should submit it before the date of issue of Admit Cards as mentioned under "AT A GLANCE" in the Prospectus failing which their candidature will be canceled.

Requirements for admission of foreign Nationals/Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) -

1. Foreign nationals are required to fill in the prescribed online application form indicating the choice of subject for admission to Postgraduate courses leading to the award of a PhD Program degree.

2. foreign nationals are required to send their Registration Form of Online application through Diplomatic Channel. They are also required to appear in the Competitive Entrance Examination along with other candidates. An ‘Advance Copy’ is to be submitted at AIIMS, New Delhi before the last date of online registration. However, the application of all such candidates will be processed only after receipt of the same through the Diplomatic Channel.

3. The foreign nationals will be considered against the seats advertised under the "Sponsored" category for Ph.D. Program. They should be registered with MCI before they will be allowed to join the said course. If they are selected for the same.

4. Seats are not reserved in any discipline for foreign nationals (except the bilateral agreement between the Government of India and any other nation).

5. Nominations/No objection for the candidate should reach the Examination Section before the date of issue of the Admit Card as specified under "AT A GLANCE". In case of non-receipt of the nominations/clearance/no objection from the concerned Ministry by due date, their candidature will not be considered.

6. No emoluments will be paid by AIIMS to the Foreign National candidates.

7. Overseas Citizen of India (OCI): OCI registered under Section 7A of the Citizenship Act 1955 are also eligible to appear in PG courses and all terms and conditions applicable for Indian Nationals will be applicable to the candidates. The candidate will submit proof of Registration as OCI under Section 7A of the Citizenship Act 1955 to be eligible to appear for this test.

AIIMS has further notified that all seats in a department will be clubbed. Candidates will be eligible only for seats in the department that they have applied for. Candidates will be allocated seats in order of their merit in the exam. Candidates with their Own Government Fellowship (OF) can select from both OF and Fellowship Available (FA) seats (where they fulfill the eligibility criteria for the seat). Candidates without their Own Government Fellowship can select only Fellowship Available (FA) seats (where they fulfill the eligibility criteria for the seat).

Results for PhD Program will be available on the website at www.aiimsexams.ac.in Result of individual candidates will NOT be informed on the telephone and candidates are advised NOT to call the Examination Section for such information. However, the individual results can be checked after the closing of the admission process.

Method of selection -

Selection for PhD registration will be through a three-stage performance evaluation as under -

STAGES I and II -

Stage-I:30 Marks (30 MCQs of 1 Mark each) Aptitude-related MCQs covering English(Written and verbal skills), Biostatistics, Research Methodology, Cell Biology, Lab Technology, etc.

Stage-II:40 Marks (40 MCQs of 1 Mark each) Subject-related theory based comprising Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) of MD/MS/MDS/M.Sc. Entrance level.

Total Marks (Stage I + II): 70 (30+40)

Total Duration (Stage I + II): 90 Minutes

Eligibility for Stage III - Candidates must score at least 35 marks in Stages I and II (Combined) to be eligible for Stage III. Candidates who do not fulfill the criteria to qualify for stage III will not be eligible for selection.

Special weightage -

Medical / Dental/ Nursing candidates

10 marks will be added to the total score of Stages I and II for candidates who fulfill both the following criteria -

1. They are eligible for stage III

2. They also hold a Medical Degree (MBBS/ BDS/ MDS/ DNB/ MD/ MS/ DM/ M.Ch.) or M.Sc. (Nursing) or equivalent

Non-Medical candidates -

They are eligible for stage III

They also have qualified in any one of the following National Entrance Tests leading to the award of a fellowship tenable at AIIMS, New Delhi in the last 2 years (July 2021 to last date of application i.e. 16.08.2023) -

Such candidates should apply under the Own Fellowship (OF) category and upload proof of award of the qualifying fellowship in the online form. The fellowships should be tenable at AIIMS, New Delhi

To be eligible for special weightage marks, ALL the following criteria must be fulfilled –

1. The result of the above-listed National Entrance Tests must have been declared between July 2021 and the last date of application i.e. 16.08.2023).

Stage III -

After combining the marks of Stages I, II and special weightage (detailed in points 1 and 2 above), three (03) times as many candidates as the number of seats advertised in a department will be called for departmental clinical/practical/lab based assessment (carrying 20 marks). These marks will be added to the marks of stages I + II + special weightage to determine the final total marks.

Final result –

Candidates who secure 50% marks in Stage-I, II (including special weightage) & III Combined (50/100) shall be eligible for admission and shall be included in the final merit list. If a candidate is awarded special weightage marks based on submitted documents that are subsequently found to be ineligible, the special weightage marks awarded will be withdrawn and the final result will be recalculated.

Process of seat allocation -

1. All seats in a department will be clubbed.

2. Candidates will be eligible only for seats in the department that they have applied for.

3. Candidates will be allotted seats in order of their merit in the entrance examination.

4. Candidates with their Own Government Fellowship (OF) can select from both OF and Fellowship Available (FA) seats (where they fulfill the eligibility criteria for the seat)

5. Candidates without their Own Government Fellowship can select only Fellowship Available (FA) seats (where they fulfill the eligibility criteria for the seat)

6. Candidates who are allotted a seat but do not join or resign after joining will not be eligible for any additional rounds of seat allocation.

Selected candidates are required to join as per the date given in his/her provisional offer letter. In case the candidate is not granted an extension for joining and fails to join by the date given to him/her in the provisional offer letter, it will be assumed that he/she does not intend to join the course and the seat will be offered to the next candidate on the waiting list. No further correspondence will be entertained in this regard.

Rules for admission for in-service candidates – (non-medical) applicable for AIIMS employees only -

1. The individual should be a regular employee of the Institute (AIIMS New Delhi) and should have rendered a minimum of five years of continuous service at the institute.

2. He/She should fulfill all the eligibility criteria for the Ph.D. course, and will appear in the entrance examination, and must score a minimum of 50% marks.

3. The individual should have 5 years of active service remaining in the institute.

4. The candidate should have a proven track record of active involvement in the research / academic activities of the department. He/she should possess good written and verbal communication skills in the English language to be certified by the HOD/Chief of the Center.

5. The candidate should have at least 3 original research publications (not case reports) during the last three years immediately preceding the date of his/her application either as a first author or as a communicating author in a peer-reviewed journal.

6. The candidate will be considered as an in-service candidate provided that the Head of the Department should certify that the work of the department will not suffer and no additional staff will be asked for.

The candidate seeking admission under this category will have to identify a faculty member in the Institute who is willing to be the chief guide of the candidate. The candidate should submit a letter of acceptance/undertaking from the concerned faculty member in this regard.

Eligibility:

AIIMS Delhi Ph.D. Admission 2024 is over for the January Session. The final result for AIIMS Delhi Ph.D. Admission 2024 has been released on March 11, 2024 . Candidates can check the department-wise final list of qualified candidates for admission to Ph.D- AIIMS Delhi Ph.D. Final Result 2024 .

AIIMS Delhi offers a Doctorate in Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Medicine and Allied Sciences. AIIMS Delhi offers Ph.D. programs under 34 departments. Admission to Ph.D. at AIIMS Delhi is based on the score obtained by the candidates in the AIIMS Ph.D. Entrance Exam followed by a departmental assessment. The duration of the course is considered from the date of registration to the submission of the thesis. The minimum duration for the submission of a thesis is three years. The maximum duration can be extended up to 5 years after which written permission from Dean is required for a further extension of 6 months.

AIIMS Delhi Ph.D. Eligibility Criteria

The Doctor of Philosophy is provided to the candidates pursuing any of the below-mentioned qualifications:

Candidates who have completed MBBS/ BDS with 55% or MD/ MS/ MDS/ DM/ M.Ch in the subjects concerned from the institutes recognized by The Medical Council of India. OR
Candidates who completed M.Sc in Nursing with an aggregate of 55 percent are eligible for the Ph.D. program in the specialty of Nursing at the AIIMS institute. OR
Candidates from Non-Medical backgrounds (M.Tech/BAMS/ M.sc) have to score at least 60% aggregate in the last qualifying examination. The non-medical candidates must have appeared for any of these National Entrance exams in the last two years- Joint CSIR-UGC NET, ICMR-JRF, ICMR-SRF, DBT-JRF, GATE, NBHM Screening test and INSPIRE Fellowship.

How to Apply?

The steps for registration are as follows:

Open the official website of AIIMS, New Delhi.
On the Home page, visit the section of ‘Academic Courses’.
Under the registration section, click on the Ph.D. program.
Under ‘New Registration’, read all the mentioned guidelines.
Keep the registration ID and password details for future reference.
Re-login and complete all the steps of the registration process.
Make payment via Debit/Credit card/ Internet Banking.
Upload the image and signature and fill in all the other details.
Print the registration form for further reference.

The entrance exam is conducted in three stages. Candidates who manage to score at least 50% marks are eligible for admission. The examination is conducted via online (CBT) mode. Candidates qualifying for the stage I need to undergo the Departmental Assessment. Students must upload their self-attested documents/certificates in regard to Date of Birth, Educational Qualification, Category, etc.

The counseling for the candidates will be done on the basis of merit obtained by the candidate. The candidate who has opted for Own Fellowship will be allowed to appear for seats both of OF and FA seats. Candidates need to join the program as per the stipulated time. Failure to do so will result in the candidature of the applicant.

AIIMS Delhi Ph.D. Stipend

AIIMS offers no such direct placements to campus students. However, the institute has started providing internships to the students in various hospitals and even in AIIMS also. The stipend varies according to the department. Some departments do not pay any stipend and have a process of registration and fee payment for the internship program. However, in some courses, the stipend provided is INR 23,500.

How to Apply for AIIMS Admission 2023?

The AIIMS application form for admission in 2023 will be available online on the official website of AIIMS. Candidates will have to fill in their details, academic qualifications, and other relevant information mentioned in the form. It is also mandatory to upload scanned copies of the applicant’s photograph and signature.

The application fee for General/OBC candidates is INR 1,500, while for SC/ST candidates, it is INR 1,200.

AIIMS Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for AIIMS Admission 2023 vary depending on the course that a candidate wishes to pursue.

For MBBS: Candidates must have passed Class 12th with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English as compulsory subjects and must have scored a minimum of 60% marks (50% for SC/ST candidates).
For B.Sc. (Hons.) Nursing: Candidates must have passed Class 12th with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English as compulsory subjects and must have scored a minimum of 55% marks (50% for SC/ST candidates).
For MD/ MS/ MDS/ DM/ M.Ch.: Candidates must have completed their MBBS/ BDS degree from a recognized university.

AIIMS Admission 2023: Syllabus

Once after being familiar with the exam guidelines very precisely, it is advisable to kick start the AIIMS entrance exam preparation at least one year to six months before the exam date. The syllabus required to prepare for the AIIMS 2023 exam is as follows:

To get admission to AIIMS 2023 candidates must appear for an entrance examination of NEET/INI-CET/INI-SSET or any other course-specific test specified by the institute.

The infrastructure is good but old as AIIMS was established in 1956. However, there is a huge scope of improvement in infrastructure with respect to digitalization, modernized classrooms, and pedagogy mechanisms.

It is unsatisfactory.

While the overall college structure is good but for optometry department is worst because there is no particular class room, no wet lab for practice , lack of communal area for student collaboration, differentiation in mess facility , no dedicated canteen area, no wifi facility

AIIMS PhD Admission 2023 Application Form:

Application Form for AIMS Ph.D. has been released on the official website for all the aspirants who want to pursue a Ph.D. in any of the programs offered by the institute. Interested aspirants can apply for the Form as per the eligibility criteria.

Aspirants have to register first to fill the entrance exam application form.

Applicants must download and take a print of the registration form. They should preserve a copy of the registration form until the admission process is completed.

AIIMS PhD Admission 2023 Application Fee:

Aspirants have to pay the Application Form via Online Mode only. You can check out the 2020 Application Fee given below:

General/ OBC Aspirants: Rs. 1500 + Transaction Charges (if applicable)
Sc/ ST Aspirants: Rs. 1200 + Transaction Charges (if applicable)

Mode of application fee payment: Aspirants are required to make application form fee payment through Debit/Credit Card/Net Banking

AIIMS Ph.D Admission 2023:

The Admission is done on the basis of the below-mentioned criteria:

Verification of all Original Certificates/Degrees/NOC from the concerned department including eligibility.
Verification of other relevant documents to further check if the aspirant is meeting all the conditions as specified in the Prospectus and Institute’s regulations.
Proof of availability of research funds/fellowship/grant from recognized funding agency for Project code where Fellowship is mandatory.
Admission to Ph.D. Programme is done on the basis of the availability of research funds/fellowship/grant from recognized funding agencies.
The admission is finalized and the offer is given to the aspirant only when evidence of the availability of research funds/grant/fellowship for the project is submitted to the Academic Section by the selected aspirant/s through concerned Head of the Department.

Eligibility Criteria:

Before filling out the Application Form, aspirants must check out the Eligibility Criteria for 2020 below:

Eligibility for Medical Aspirants:

Medical Qualifications: MBBS/BDS with minimum 55% aggregate marks or MD/MS/MDS/ DM/M.Ch in the subject concerned or Diplomate of National Board of Examination. Aspirants who have obtained any of these degrees from medical colleges which are not recognized by the Medical Council of India shall not be eligible to apply.
Nursing Qualifications: Aspirants holding an M.Sc. degree with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks in Nursing Speciality will also be eligible for Ph. D admission in the College of Nursing.

Eligibility for Non-Medical Aspirants:

For non-medical aspirants, eligibility shall be a Master’s Degree (two years courses) awarded by Indian Universities or equivalent in the subject as per the requirement of the project. Aspirants holding M.Sc. (Other than M.Sc. Nursing) M.Tech. Degree & BAMS will be eligible for the Non-Medical Qualification Category.
Aspirant possessing a Masters Degree through distance learning course shall not be eligible
Aspirant having eligibility under the non-medical category should have at least 60% marks in the last eligibility examination qualified.

Exam Pattern:

The exam is conducted into 2 Stages – Stage I and Stage II. Stage I is a computer-based test and Stage II is the departmental assessment. The 1st stage is further divided into 2 stages – Stage I and Stage II. You can check out the 2020 exam pattern below for Medical and Non-Medical Candidates:

Exam Pattern of Stage I:

Duration of the Exam: 1 Hour 30 Minutes
Mode of the Exam: Computer Based Test (CBT)
Language of the Question Paper: English only
Type of Examination: Objective Type
Type of Questions: Multiple Choice Based Questions
Total Number of Parts in Question Paper: There are two Stages in the Question paper – Stage I and Stage II.
Total Number of Questions: 70 Questions
Total Number of Marks: 70 Marks
For every correct answer: 1 mark is added to the total score.
For every wrong answer: -⅓ mark is deducted from the total score.

Distribution of Questions and Marks in Each Stage for both Medical and Non-Medical aspirants:

Note: The aspirants are selected on the basis of the combined marks obtained in each stage of the Entrance Exam. Extra weightage for 10 marks is also added to the total score of the aspirants in Stage I if they clear the qualifying criteria.

Stage II – The second stage is a Departmental Assessment which carries 20 Marks.

The minimum qualifying marks for Stage I is 35 marks (combined in Stage I and Stage II of the Entrance Exam)
The qualified aspirants are then provided special weightage in their total score if they pass the eligibility criteria as mentioned above.

The institute releases the list of all the Stage I qualified aspirants online. The qualified aspirants have to then upload the following list of documents in the specified duration of time:

Graduation Certificate
Graduation Mark Sheet
Post-graduation certificate
Post-graduation Mark Sheet
No Objection Certificate, if required
Experience Certificate, if any
Copy of the Certificate of National Entrance Test (for non-medical aspirants)
Copy of the Score Card of National Entrance Test (for non-medical aspirants)
Any other certificate/document
Aspirants have to upload the scanned documents only on the official website through My Page by entering the login credentials.
Aspirants also have to upload documentary evidence of sanction of Govt. Fellowship in his/ her name to be considered in those seats where own Fellowship is mandatory.

After the uploading of the above-mentioned documents, the Admit Card releases as per the schedule on the official website. Aspirants have to download the Admit Card and appear for the Stage II at the mentioned venue. The Final Result is a compilation of both the Stages plus the Special Weightage. Aspirants are selected on the basis of the Final Result.
