The EEPC’s Research Unit is responsible for conducting research into matters of equal employment opportunity (EEO) and annually publishing reports in accordance with New York City Local Law 13 of 2019 Local Law 13 requires the EEPC to conduct an annual analysis of the City’s municipal workforce to address chronic or systemic underutilization of women and people of color and make recommendations to the City Council, Mayor’s Office, and other stakeholders, on the recruitment, selection, retention and promotion of City employees in order to reach citywide employment objectives. The Equal Employment Practices Commission is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to serve as a Research Analyst within the EEPC’s Research Unit. Under the direction of the Director of Research, the Research Analyst will conduct research, and analyses for various reports, including those required by Local Law 13. Typical tasks include, but are not limited to: - Writing scripts in statistical programs to clean and organize large datasets. - Writing scripts in statistical programs to conduct analyses of large datasets (e.g., regressions, time series analyses, etc.) - Developing tables and figures for publications - Developing survey instruments - Developing interview and focus group protocols - Staying apprised of research studies, and enactment of legislation and public policy, to identify emerging trends in research on labor markets and employment practices. DESCRIPTION

Involves analysis of complex business problems using data to provide insight to decision makers. Identifies and interprets trends and patterns in datasets to locate influences. Develops forecasts, recommendations, and strategic / tactical plans based on business data and market knowledge. Works with business and / or clinical units to understand and prioritize data and information requirements. Creates specifications for reports and analysis based on business needs and required / available data elements. This role will be responsible for collaborating with nursing teams to develop and maintain databases, dashboard, and reporting for metrics to support nursing accreditation programs (ANCC Magnet and Practice Transition Accreditation Program) and nursing quality metrics. Meets with stakeholders to provide the appropriate data analytics to support program and organizational outcomes. Supports accreditation submission documents by developing tables and graphs in alignment with accreditation standards. Supports nurses working on improvement projects by providing data and reporting. This role will involve data entry.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Seven years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor’s degree in related area plus three years of related experience/training.
  • Experience and knowledge of managing large volumes of data in spreadsheets and data bases.
  • Experience building executive reports.
  • Experience collaborating w/ clinical SMEs to ensure data integrity.
  • Thorough knowledge of business intelligence functions and analytics.
  • Thorough knowledge of relevant internal databases, BI applications and tools. Ability to produce reports and documentation.

Pay Transparency Act
