‘The Exorcism’ Review: Russell Crowe Plays a Fallen Movie Star Playing a Priest in an Exorcist Movie. Is This the Sign of a Career Gone to Hell?

Crowe stars in his second exorcist film in a year. His acting isn't bad, but by the end the message seems to be: The power of residuals compels you.

Regulators shouldn’t blow the whistle on venu sports just yet, travis kelce joins taylor swift on stage for surprise ‘eras tour’ appearance and literally sweeps her off her feet, popular on variety.

While we’re on the subject of art-and-life parallels, this is the second exorcist film that Russell Crowe has made in a little over a year (the first, “The Pope’s Exorcist,” was released in April 2023), and that might well be the sign of a once-hot movie star’s fall from grace. But Crowe remains too good an actor to phone in what he’s doing, and his performance as Tony has an undercurrent of shaggy despair unusual for the genre.

Early on, Tony’s 16-year-old daughter, Lee (Ryan Simpkins), returns to his funky New York loft apartment after she gets kicked out of Catholic boarding school. For a while, we’re invested in whether Tony can mend fences with her, and whether he can turn his broken life around by portraying the priest in a movie whose director, played with amusing Machiavellian ruthlessness by Adam Goldberg, will do whatever it takes to wring a good performance out of his leading man, even it means abusing the hell out of him. (In this case that’s no metaphor.) “You still devout?” asks Goldberg’s Peter, saying it like it’s a dirty word. Tony is a former altar boy, so I guess that’s supposed to hit him hard.

On set, Lee bonds with Tony’s pop-musician costar, Blake (Chloe Bailey), the lead singer of Vampire Sorority. And Tony is coached by an on-set priest, Father Conor, a kind of intimacy-with-the-almighty coordinator played with amiable cynicism by David Hyde Pierce. There are omens, like Tony’s bloody nose on the first day of shooting. The bottom line is that Tony is not giving a good performance, and what’s standing in his way is his guilt for his sins, as well as the “mysterious” trauma that brought on his bad behavior. This is a movie that plays connect-the-dots with exorcist/Catholic/addict themes.

“The Exorcism” was directed by Joshua John Miller, who’s the son of Jason Miller, the late costar of “The Exorcist,” which creates, I guess, a kind of Satanic synergy. As the movie goes on, Tony starts slugging whiskey again, which on the story’s terms is a sign that the devil has appeared. The trouble is that a good exorcist movie requires a confrontation with the devil. Crowe is playing an actor playing an exorcist, and the way “The Exorcism” is structured what he needs to be is the therapeutic Father Merrin of his own soul. But the darker the movie gets, the less there is at stake, and the more that Crowe seems to be going through the motions of trying to save not his soul but his career. The power of residuals compels you.

Kevin Costner in "Horizon: An American Saga - Chapter 1."

Kevin Costner’s Western Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 1 is new in theaters and critics largely aren’t impressed with his first of four planned Horizon movies.

Costner staged the world premiere of Horizon in May at the Cannes Film Festival in the South of France. However, a slate of bad reviews for Horizon out of Cannes was only the first blow for Costner. The second blow came in early June when The Hollywood Reporter noted that the film was tracking to make only $12 million in its opening weekend.

The number is concerning, considering the former Yellowstone star —per Variety —invested $38 million of his own money in the film’s $100 million production budget before prints and advertising. The rest of the movie, Variety added, was funded by two unnamed investors.

Warner Bros. is distributing the film, which is opening in 3,300 theaters on Friday.

One of the most damning reviews out of Cannes came from the Daily Beast with a headline that reads, “Kevin Costner’s ‘Horizon’ Is a Misogynistic, Racist, Retrograde Mess.”

Also in the Daily Beast review, critic Esther Zuckerman writes, “The biggest problem with Horizon is that, even with its lengthy running time, Costner has only scratched the surface of the ‘saga’ he’s trying to tell. There is no arc to what happens, just the seemingly unending introduction of characters. Chapter 1 doesn’t end. Rather it just trails off into a clip reel of what’s to come like one of those ‘this season on …’ promos that comes at the beginning of a television show.”

UFC 303 Results: UFC Rising Star Scores Amazing 19-Second KO

Black people’s responses to trump’s notion of ‘black jobs’, apple’s vision pro is amazing but nobody wants one.

Luckily for the actor-director-producer, there have been some positive notices rolling in for Horizon . The film currently has a 40% “rotten” rating from Rotten Tomatoes critics based on 68 reviews.

That number could go up or down depending on how many more RT critics weigh in throughout the film’s first weekend. However, it’s not looking good for the rating to rise, considering that Horizon started Thursday with a 50% “rotten” score and dropped 10 percentage points by Friday morning.

Critics’ ratings aside, the key number for Horizon is the amount of dollars the 3-hour and 1-minute film can make in its opening weekend. After all, a low turnout for Chapter 1 of Horizon won’t bode well for Chapter 2 , which is opening in theaters on August 16.

What Else Are Critics Saying About ‘Horizon: An American Saga Chapter 1’?

The official logline for Horizon: An American Saga reads, “Oscar-winning director Kevin Costner chronicles the incredible epic journey of the expansion of the American West, before and after the Civil War.

“Between the Native Americans who saw their lands getting colonized and those who were determined to settle there, sometimes at any cost, history is being written. In a flamboyant fresco where multiple destinies intertwine, dreams and hopes face obstacles and cruelty to offer a cinematic spectacle of exceptional scope and emotional depth.”

Among the positive reviews of the film on Rotten Tomatoes , Robbie Collin of the Daily Telegraph in the UK writes, “Part of the pleasure of Horizon is the sheer, magisterial sweep of the thing – with mountains and buttes and mesas like these, who needs CG? But its texture lives in small, telling details.”

Meanwhile, Helen O’Hara of Empire Magazine points out Horizon’s flaws but still notes, “It's fine for an epic to sprawl, but you want a sense of purpose at the same time, and this one sometimes loses its way. Still, it’s handsomely shot and well performed, a throwback to the glory days of event-movie horse operas.”

On the negative side, Katie Walsh of the Daily Tribune writes, “ Horizon is the kind of auteur project that makes one long for the idea of studio notes, for anyone to push back on Costner’s worst instincts. Unfortunately, he proves to be the judge, jury and executioner of his own passion project."

Brian Lowrey of CNN wasn’t impressed with Horizon either, writing, “Nobody has done more to keep the western flame kindling on the big screen than Kevin Costner, but the audacity of his latest rodeo feels like overreach, if not outright folly.”

If it’s any consolation, the RT Audience Score is 71% “fresh” based on 100-plus viewer ratings.

Also starring Sienna Miller, Sam Worthington and Michael Rooker, Horizon: An American Saga opens in theaters nationwide on Friday.

Note: This story has been updated to reflect the updated Rotten Tomatoes critics’ score through Friday morning.

‘i am: celine dion’ review: power ballad queen chronicles her new reality in amazon’s moving portrait.

Irene Taylor's documentary details the Canadian star's struggles with Stiff Person Syndrome and appraises the impactful legacy of the singer's career spanning four decades-plus.

I Am Celine Dion

In the world of celebrity documentaries, hagiographies reign supreme. Rare is the film that fulfills its promises of intimacy, vulnerability and never-before-seen perspectives. The films are generally risk-avoidant exercises that have perfected the optical illusion of making subjects seem closer than they actually are.

Related Stories

Celine dion makes surprise nhl draft appearance to announce pick for her hometown team, amazon prime video's new releases coming in july 2024, i am: celine dion.

In I Am: Celine Dion , the singer demonstrates the extent of her readiness. Directed by Irene Taylor ( Leave No Trace, Moonlight Sonata: Deafness in Three Movements ), the film builds on the confessional energy of the Instagram video by inviting fans to bear witness to her struggles with SPS. It is at once a moving tribute to Dion’s legacy, a peek into how this condition has challenged her gifts and an attempt to help the pop star wrestle with what this means for her future.

Taylor, working with DP Nick Midwig, fashions a verité-style documentary that keeps audiences close to Dion as she hangs out with her children, undergoes extensive rehab and immunotherapy and tries to rebuild her sense of self. What does it mean that her body’s internal war has debilitated her voice, which she calls “the conductor of her life?”

This introduction makes immediately clear the degree to which Dion’s life has changed with SPS. No longer can the balladeer fiercely belt the tearful lyrics of her heavyweight discography for hours. She can no longer record three songs in a night or put on performances of a lifetime week after week.

Dion sings in registers that require less work, as demonstrated later when she records a track for the Netflix movie Love Again starring Priyanka Chopra. Taylor and her editors Richard Comeau and J. Christian Jensen stitch together a number of Dion’s session takes to show the effort required for the singer to do what once came so naturally. Through moments like these the director builds an affecting project of contrasts: A portrait of Dion, past and present.

When Taylor and Dion dig into the past, the results are edifying. A trip to the singer’s warehouse, stocked with costumes, shoes and other memorabilia from her decades-long career, is a chance to review her legacy. Dion, now 56, rummages through the items while highlighting key moments in her career. She talks about her relationship to fashion, remarking with a wink that her shoe size ranges from a 6 to a 10 because she doesn’t mind suffering for the perfect piece.

The “we” is critical. Throughout I Am: Celine Dion , the Canadian singer expresses profound gratitude for members of her team, from the people who helped stage her tours to the medical professionals, including Dr. Amanda Piquet, helping her manage SPS. There are no interviews with this supporting cast, however. I Am: Celine Dion doesn’t supplement its subject’s testimony with anyone. Instead, like that Instagram video from 2022, it functions as a direct communion between herself and her fans.

Dion genuinely believes in the power of moving farther together. “I didn’t invent myself, I didn’t create myself,” the Québecoise singer says at one point in the documentary. One wonders if this commitment to teamwork stems from a childhood spent with a big family. Dion was born in Québec to a family of 14 children. According to the singer, her parents worked hard to make sure the kids would never be aware of any suffering. Her mother invented dishes when there was little food in the fridge and Dion counts her siblings as her first audience.

I Am: Celine Dion steadies itself when it returns to the intersection of Dion’s career with her medical condition. The film highlights just how much music means to the singer. She uses any opportunity — creating a get well video with her sons, doing physical therapy — to break into song.

In interviews, Dion works through her anxieties and concerns. She worries about not being able to control her voice in the same way or whether or not she has the energy to live life as she once knew it. There are moments in the doc when the singer, in the middle of an activity, will remark on her legs and other parts of her body feeling sore or tired.

The film is as much about the singer as it is about the realities of living with a chronic illness. Taylor does not shy away from sitting in on difficult points in Dion’s life, including one painful scene in which the singer seizes up after a busy and overstimulating afternoon. Her foot stiffens first and then her entire body locks in place. As her doctor moves Dion to lie on her side and urges her to take deep breaths, tears stream down the singer’s face.

This palpable and visceral glimpse into her pain is a jolting reminder of the toll this condition has taken on Dion not just as a star but as a person.

‘Bramayugam’ movie review: Mammootty’s performance elevates this middling film on the evils of unrestricted power

Director rahul sadasivan’s thriller elevates itself when it slowly transforms into a meditation on the nature of unquestioned power, and the way it brings out the worst in people, sometimes even the well-intentioned ones.

February 15, 2024 04:48 pm | Updated 05:06 pm IST

S R Praveen

Mammootty in ‘Bramayugam’

Half an hour into Bramayugam , the idea of a black hole crops up in one’s mind. The eerie, old ‘mana’ that Kodumon Potty presides over, seems to be welcoming of everyone who passes through that region, but no one who has ever gone in has emerged out... much like in a black hole. Even Potty says he has not seen the outside world in quite a long time; it is doubtful whether he ever has, considering the story that reveals his true identity.

Time almost comes to a standstill here, much like near a black hole, with the occupants losing all sense of the days or years that they have spent inside. Even in the game of dice that the Potty (Mammootty) challenges the latest entrant (Arjun Ashokan) to, it is time that he is forced to gamble with. Losing the game would mean the person would spend his entire lifetime in the ‘mana’. It is into this timeless world that Rahul Sadasivan transports us to, almost making us believe that we are also at the mercy of the vile Potty, who does not tolerate those who look him in the eye.

The inventive treatment of horror in Rahul Sadasivan’s previous film Bhoothakalam appears to have fuelled certain expectations from Bramayugam . But this film is designed as a fantasy, mystery tale with a few mildly scary moments thrown in. The appearance of a ‘chaathan’ and an ‘yakshi’ on the screen really does not do much, for what is unseen is more scary, as we learned in Bhoothakalam . Amidst all that, the most chilling element in the whole film happens to be the evil laughter and the deep-throated voice of Potty, portrayed quite convincingly by Mammootty. He treats the role quite unlike any that he has played till date, although one gets a faint sense of the ghost of Bhaskara Pattelar from Vidheyan (1994) at some points.

The aesthetic choice to have the entire film in black-and-white helps Bramayugam in no small measure. The drowning out of distracting colours and erasure of all the needless elements not only helps in transporting us to the rather primitive 17th century in which the film is set in, but adds to the eerie mood that pervades the run-down household. This sense of minimalism is reflected in the writing too, with much of the narrative revolving around the three principal characters and the two additional characters getting only a couple of scenes.

There are quite a few points where the writing suffers, but Shehnad Jalal’s frames, Christo Xavier’s music and the art department helps the film paper over many of its weaknesses to an extent. As for the basic story, there is nothing really new here from the folk tales that we are all already familiar with. It is the atmosphere that the makers create, and the treatment of the tale which saves the day, but they still fail to deliver anything that stuns the audience, except for a disorienting, claustrophobia-inducing sequence in the end.

Bramayugam elevates itself when it slowly transforms into a meditation on the nature of unquestioned power, and the way it brings out the worst in people, sometimes even the well-intentioned ones. It is at that point that this tale from another era speaks to the present.

Bramayugam is currently running in theatres

A Family Affair review: Is Nicole Kidman's Netflix rom-com worth a watch?

Star power can't save Netflix's new movie.

preview for A Family Affair – official trailer (Netflix)

Netflix 's new movie might get quickly compared to The Idea of You due to plot similarities, but unfortunately that doesn't do it any favours — it's lacking the kind of chemistry and compelling conflicts that made Prime Video's movie a recent hit.

Starring Nicole Kidman , Zac Efron and The Kissing Booth 's Joey King, A Family Affair is not as fun as the premise initially promises, and no amount of star power can fix that.

nicole kidman, joey king, zac efron, a family affair

The movie's opening credits introduce viewers to Hollywood movie star Chris Cole (Efron) through a combination of recycled TIFF red-carpet clips, magazine covers highlighting his "world's greatest abs" and a brief appearance in Hot Ones with Sean Evans lending his voice (not his image, though, like he did for Apple TV+'s Loot ) to the occasion.

Chris is mostly known for leading a globally beloved superhero franchise called Icarus Rush , and he is now getting ready to film a new sequel.

To the dismay of his assistant Zara (King), who aspires to being a movie producer, the script (described as " Die Hard meets Miracle on 34th Street with a little bit of Speed ") is absolutely terrible.

Zara is frustrated after addressing Chris' every whim for two years, which includes doing his laundry, writing apology letters and handing him jewellery in order to break women's hearts. That's exactly why she freaks out when her mother Brooke (Kidman) starts a relationship with him after a steamy tequila-driven encounter at her home.

nicole kidman, zac efron, a family affair

A successful writer and a widow for eleven years, Brooke sees this unexpected new romance as a way to finally let go of the last remnants of her grief and finally be happy beyond her role as a mother. For Chris, Brooke's kindness allows him to be his own person rather than the public character he wasn't sure how to escape.

All valid reasons, but not to Zara, who is determined to never let this happen.

This movie would have been way better if it focused on Brooke and Chris' internal struggles rather than the petty journey of King's protagonist — an irritatingly privileged and entitled 24-year-old who demands to run a major movie star's production company despite having no prior experience and nothing but occasional opinions, and shames her mother for sleeping with someone younger than her.

A Family Affair is Zara's journey into adulthood, as she decides what she wants to do with her life. However, despite King's effort, it's hard to root for her when she is the most dislikable character in the film until the very end.

liza koshy, joey king, a family affair

At least Nicole Kidman and Zac Efron are here to have fun, sharing some of the best moments of the story, like their first date at the restaurant or Chris' over-the-top celebrity persona.

The scene-stealer of the film, though, is Kathy Bates' Leila, Brooke's mother-in-law and Zara's grandmother. There's a warmth in Bates' performance that is sorely lacking in the rest of the film, channeling part of what made her also grandmotherly role in Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret so special.

Rom-com fans will be left wanting with A Family Affair , although at least they'll discover strawberry-shortcake Oreos are a real thing.

2 stars

Innovative thought by the Director. The length can be cut short. But, the visuals, the Actors and the Graphics were amazing and of Global Standards. Indian Cinema reached new heights.

'Kalki 2898 AD' Movie Review: What's Good, What's Bad; Find Out From Viewers' Words

Nag Ashwin-directed 'Kalki 2898 AD' is a pan-Indian epic dystopian science fiction action film written and directed by Nag Ashwin.

The movie has some of the big names in the Indian film industry - Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Deepika Padukone, Disha Patani, Shobhana, Keerthy Suresh, Vijay Deverakonda, Mrunal Thakur and Dulquer Salmaan.

Kalki 2898 AD Movie Review What s Good What s Bad Find Out From Viewers Words

The film has Santhosh Narayanan's music, Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao's editing and Djordje Stojiljkovic's cinematography.

'Kalki 2898 AD' Story In the year 2898 AD, the desertified city of Kasi stands as the last known city on Earth. It is ruled by a totalitarian elite led by the god-king Supreme Yaskin, who resides in the "Complex," a hovering inverted-pyramidal megastructure above the city. Set against a backdrop that weaves ancient Indian Hindu mythology with a dystopian society, the story spans millennia, beginning with the events of the Mahabharata in 3102 BC, marking the start of the Kali Yuga, and culminating in 2898 AD. At its core, the narrative focuses on the arrival of Kalki, the enigmatic tenth and final avatar of the Hindu deity Vishnu.

Reviews The movie created huge buzz with its promos and the trailer. With so many big names from different languages in the cast, the film has piqued unprecedented interest among fans. Will the movie, which is releasing worldwide on June 27, live up to the expectations?

Venkky Reviews: #Kalki2898AD is a larger than life Sci-FI Action Experience. The visuals and world building by Nag Ashwin are never before from Indian Cinema. However, Nag Ashwin shows some inexperience in building a proper drama and emotional connect with somewhat of a flat screenplay.

Still, he was able to manage a couple of very good blocks especially the climax which worked very well and is goosebumps worthy.

Despite some of its flaws, This is a movie that should be experienced on the big screen for the experience it offers!

Rating: 3/5

Kudos to the whole of team of Kalki for attempting to bring a never before movie for Indian Cinema.

Nag Ashwin showed signs of both brilliance and inexperience. He was brilliant in focusing on the visuals and the finer details world. However, it felt at times he couldn't establish a proper drama and emotional connect which would've elevated the movie even further.

All the cameos expect Mrunal are wasted and Vijay Deverakondas cameo is very odd.

SaNA did a very good job with the BGM in certain places but in others it was just adequate.

Prabhas had limited screen time in this one but did a good job in a fun character and gives a big fan worthy sequence in the climax. The rest of the cast especially Amitabh and Deepika have done and take up majority of the screenspace.

Don Movie Review: Lack of finesse notwithstanding, this Sivakarthikeyan film is an effective entertainer

Rating: ( 3 / 5).

There are no half-measures in Don . There’s no subtlety either. And Don , self-aware, seems firm in its conviction that there is entertainment in simplistic writing and exaggerated performances that play to the gallery, even when actors sometimes break character. It’s a film about college life, and I couldn't help but draw a parallel between the film's eagerness to entertain and the reckless exuberance of youth. The college the film is set in is called… Best Engineering College. And you are introduced to it not through the usual, straightforward shot of Chakravarthy (Sivakarthikeyan) walking through its gate on the first day, but through an advertisement of the college that plays out in the theatre like the many advertisements that play before the screening of a film. This serves to amuse, and more importantly, position you, the viewer, against the college and towards the protagonist, Chakravarthy. Just like him, you dislike Bhoominathan (S J Suryah), the Discipline Head (an Umbridge-like position I didn’t even know colleges had). Just like him, you dislike his father (Samuthirakani). You don’t worry that Cibi, sorry, Chakravarthy has as many arrears as Bhoominathan has rules, and you don’t even worry that he is almost always on the cusp of dismissal. You are tethered to Chakravarthy’s perspective, and I enjoyed that this film, surprisingly, forces you to examine your own judgment of what happens for much of the film.

Director: Cibi Chakravarthi

Cast: Sivakarthikeyan, Priyanka Mohan, Samuthirakani, S J Suryah

Don is a celebration of the college spirit, and for the young, it’s timely, while for the old, it’s a whiff of good ol’ nostalgia. It reminds us of silly times when ‘TC’ used to be a dreaded word. And in hindsight, you realise that it wasn’t the possibility of dismissal that scared you, but the potential familial and social condemnation. You remember how teachers seemed heartless, how friends seemed above all else, how career choices changed ever so often… In Don , this last idea is likeably stretched till the end—and of course, Chakravarthy finds his passion—but I enjoyed that the film tries to normalise not knowing what you want to do, especially at an age where you know so little about the world… and yourself. Even while the film speaks, without breaking a sweat, of the many ridiculous expectations asphyxiating youngsters, it also covers college life in loving detail, including canteens and culturals, which manage to find meaning in the narrative as well. The canteen, for instance, gives Chakravarthy an effective way in which to rebel against Bhoominathan (SJ Suryah, in what can almost be called a guest appearance).

In a film that’s over 160 minutes long, it might have run the risk of seeming a bit plain after a while, but director Cibi is as restless as a college-going youngster—and I mean this as a compliment. By interval, the Chakravarthy-Bhoominathan conflict gets well-established, and it feels like there isn’t much else to it. And yet, the film soldiers on in enterprising ways during the other half. Bhoominathan’s solution for the Chakravarthy problem is clever and fitting of his purpose. Chakravarthy’s rebellious response results in the teachers having to write examinations, and this results in perhaps the film’s most entertaining phase with the student-teacher identities getting swapped. The director provides us all with a lot of catharsis for what we heard growing up in educational institutions, including that notorious response when you forgot something: “Saapda marandhiya?” (In an earlier riotous scene, Chakravarthy says yes, and goes away to eat). Or how about when Chakravarthy and friends sit next to a professor, staring into his eyes intently, while he’s writing an exam—as payback for when it used to be the other way round? These are hilarious portions and stand as testament of the director’s keen observations of college life.

It helps him that Sivakarthikeyan is terrific with such humour. Watch him as he stands defeated at around interval, dressed in uniform, and carrying books he has no interest in. Anirudh’s background score is simply the sad version of ‘ Baasha paaru ’, and for a minute, it’s easy to forget that this actor is a bonafide star—and this ability to make us forget that is this actor's strength. He can play not just a college student, but a school student as well. It’s well-known he is great at humour, but in this film, he shows a real interest in also climbing into the emotional portions, as evidenced by that final, unexpectedly moving, stretch.

Some of the writing is often a bit too eager to have an effect, and so, this film is prone to exaggerations in writing and performances from time to time. Chakravarthy’s father doesn’t like his son’s career choice, and his response is to bring home a mad man who has failed at the same career. It’s extreme, a bit too dramatic, but then, this film remains aware of this. In the very next scene, Chakravarthy’s friend says, “ Unakku manda kodaichal kudukarthukku unga appa room pottu yosipaar pola… ” It’s exactly what I was thinking too.

However, all this self-awareness still doesn’t help sell Chakravarthy’s relationship with Angayarkanni (Priyanka). The humour is fine, but all she is, is the ‘ vellai nilaa ’, like he refers to her. She’s the usual crutch women are usually shown to be in these films, and even any objections she has about his refusal to own their relationship don’t amount to much. There are a couple of songs based on the two, with Anirudh’s ‘Private Party’ being a particularly enjoyable distraction.

Don may have the exterior of a fun, college film, but its core is made of solid emotion. Though our sympathies lie with Chakravarthy, the film remembers that he’s still a naïve, college student, who lacks the capacity to see the bigger picture. I liked the writing maturity in these spaces and enjoyed that nobody is truly evil in Don . The two ‘bad’ men, Chakravarthy’s father and Bhoomi, even evolve during this film. At a time when even heroes, played by stars, don’t evolve in films, it’s quite something to see supporting characters have an arc.

But wait, am I saying that Don is an example of tremendous storytelling? Does the film have anything revolutionary to communicate? The answer is no on both counts, but sometimes, the bigger question is, does the lack of finesse and novelty come in the way of entertainment? That would be a firm no from me.

  1. 'Power' Review: All mass, no class

Technical Excellence: Since Power falls into the typical commercial entertainer genre, all departments are well taken care of. Music is by SS Thaman and the album has a couple of mass numbers that will remain among the top 10 songs in the next few weeks. Despite having all the commercial elements, Power falls flat due to its story.
