Jagame Maya (2022) - Story Review

Jagame Maya's story is all about love, romance, betting, and betrayal. Anand (Teja Ainampudi) splurges money on IPL betting in Vijayawada. Later to escape from the debtors, he heads to Hyderabad. Anand who is used to leading a happy life conning others comes across a beautiful divorcee Chitra (Dhanya Balakrishnan). He plans to woo her and convince her to marry him so that he can lead a luxurious life. Where this leads to, whether Anand is able to woo Chitra, what happened to her husband Ajay (Chaitanya Rao), software company owner Dev (Prithviraj) should be found on the screen.

Jagame Maya (2022) - Artists, Technicians Review

Jagame Maya story selected by newcomer Sunil Puppala is a romantic crime thriller. Sunil Puppala started the narration in an exciting manner talking about betting, IPL, etc. However, he quickly loses the plot harping on to highlight the character of the antagonist. In the process, the pace dipped drastically and from then on all the scenes turned out to be routine, monotonous, and testing. Only during the interval block, little interest is generated. The second half is a little better compared to the first half with Sunil Puppala unveiling the twists one by one and the pace picking up. The twists though routine is shown at a fast pace but the rushed climax and the unrealistic ending makes viewers wonder what the director is up to. Whether he is planning for a sequel is not clearly depicted. Even the tagline Instant Karma did not do justice to the story.

Dhanya Balakrishnan tried to carry the film on her shoulders. Despite her best efforts, she failed to make an impact. Chaitanya Rao is ok in the role of Dhanya Balakrishnan's husband. Only in the second half, he appears. Prithviraj with his histrionics ended up irritating the viewers. Teja Ainampudi is ok in her role as a con man. Others tried to make an impact in inconsequential roles. None of the cast came up with impactful performances.

Ajay Arasada's music is nothing to rave about and background music is just ok. Rahul Machineni's Cinematography is in sync with the storyline. Editing left a lot to be desired. Production values are ok.

Altogether, Jagame Maya of Sunil Puppala is nothing but a jugglery of many things. Sunil Puppala tried to highlight many things and tried to thrill viewers but he instead ended up giving immense torture to the viewers. He not only failed with his story, screenplay, and direction. His inexperience showed and he failed on all fronts and also did not succeed in getting the optimum out of the actors. They looked clueless and did as they wished and the same applies to the technical crew. This lack of coordination resulted in a mediocre product. Finally Jagame Maya is a clueless world. Considering all these aspects, Cinejosh goes with a 1 Rating to Jagame Maya .

Of late, the demand for crime thrillers has increased and several filmmakers are attempting this genre. With releasing in theatres for small films becoming a herculean task, filmmakers are opting for web movies. The recent one to hit OTT is the Telugu crime thriller Jagame Maya (Instant Karma), starring Dhanya Balakrishna, Chaitanya Rao, and Teja Ainampudi in lead roles. The movie is released on Disney Plus Hotstar today. Let’s see how the movie is.

Story: Anand (Teja Ainampudi) is a conman. He leads his life by blackmailing people for money. One day, he comes across Chitra (Dhanya Balakrishna), a widow who lost her husband Ajay (Chaitanya Rao) in a car accident. In course of time, Anand and Chitra develop a liking for each other and they get married. After a few days of their marriage, Anand comes to know something scary about Chitra. What’s that, who is Chitra and what she did next forms the rest of the story.

Plus Points:

Dhanya Balakrishna who did the roles of the heroine’s friend in many movies has occasionally done the roles of a female lead. She is a good actress and it has been proven yet again with this movie. Dhanya’s performance in the first half is quite opposite to that of the second half. She balanced the role with her subtle performance.

Budding actor Teja Ainampudi is a perfect choice for the role his comic timing is his biggest asset and it somehow made the film a watchable one. Chaitanya Rao’s character is also important in the film and he is just fine in the role given.

Minus Points:

The major drawback in this crime thriller is the story. Director Sunil Puppala fails to make Jagame Maya an engaging thriller. The movie could have been made intriguing by infusing some twists and turns but unfortunately, he couldn’t. With no expected twists, the movie becomes a mediocre one. One can easily predict the proceedings of this movie, which failed to engage the audience.

On the whole, Jagame Maya is an amateurish attempt by the director. It is a non-engaging thriller that fails to enthrall the audience. Dhanya Balakrishna and Teja Ainampudi are good in their respective roles.

ధన్య బాలకృష్ణ, చైతన్య రావు, తేజ ఐనంపూడి, సీనియర్‌ నటుడు పృథ్వీరాజ్‌ ప్రధాన పాత్రల్లో తెరకెక్కిన చిత్రం ‘జగమే మాయ’. సునీల్‌ పుప్పాల దర్శకత్వం వహించిన ఈ సినిమా నేరుగా ఓటీటీ ‘డిస్నీ+ హాట్‌స్టార్’లో విడుదలైంది. ఇది ఏ నేపథ్యంలో తెరకెక్కింది? ఎలా ఉంది? తెలుసుకునే ముందు కథేంటో చూద్దాం (Jagame Maya Review).. 

ఇదీ కథ: కష్టపడకుండా డబ్బులురావాలనుకునే మనస్తత్వం ఉన్న యువకుడు ఆనంద్‌ (తేజ ఐనంపూడి). అలా క్రికెట్‌ బెట్టింగ్‌లో రూ. లక్షలు పోగొట్టుకుంటాడు. తమ అప్పు తీర్చాలంటూ బాధితులు.. ఆనంద్‌ (Teja Ainampudi) కుటుంబ సభ్యులను డిమాండ్‌ చేస్తారు. తండ్రి అసహ్యించుకున్నా ఆనంద్‌లో మార్పు రాదు. తనకు కావాల్సినంత డబ్బు ఇవ్వకపోతే రహస్యాలను బయటపెడతానంటూ కొందరిని బ్లాక్‌ మెయిల్‌ చేస్తూ ఉంటాడు. ఈ క్రమంలో ఒకరి ఇంటికి వెళ్లిన ఆనంద్‌.. అక్కడి డబ్బు, బంగారం దోచుకుని విజయవాడ నుంచి హైదరాబాద్‌ వెళ్తాడు. తన గతం గురించి ఎవరికీ తెలియకుండా జాగ్రత్త పడతాడు. మెడిటేషన్‌ సెంటర్‌లో చిత్ర (ధన్య బాలకృష్ణ) అనే మహిళకు దగ్గరవుతాడు. ఆమె (dhanya balakrishna)కు వివాహం అయిందని, భర్త రోడ్డు ప్రమాదంలో చనిపోయాడని తెలిసినా పెళ్లి చేసుకుంటాడు. వివాహం అనంతరం చిత్ర తాను అనుకున్నట్టు అమాయకురాలు కాదనే విషయాన్ని తెలుసుకుని షాక్‌ అవుతాడు. ముందుకు వెళ్లలేని, వెనక్కి రాలేని పరిస్థితిలో చిక్కుకుంటాడు. చిత్ర ఫ్లాష్‌ బ్యాక్‌ ఏంటి? తన మొదటి భర్త అజయ్‌ (చైతన్య రావు)  (Chaitanya Rao) చావు వెనక ఎవరి హస్తం ఉంది? ఆమెను ఎవరు బ్లాక్‌ మెయిల్‌ చేశారు? ఆనంద్‌ సమస్యల నుంచి బయటపడ్డాడా? అనేది తెరపై చూడాల్సిందే.

ఎలా ఉందంటే: డబ్బు విషయంలో అత్యాశ ఉంటే, అదీ కష్టపడకుండా అడ్డదారిలో రావాలనుకుంటే ఎలాంటి పరిణామాలు ఎదురవుతాయో ఈ సినిమా ద్వారా చూపించే ప్రయత్నం చేశారు దర్శకుడు సునీల్. తప్పు చేయడం ప్రారంభిస్తే దాన్ని కప్పిపుచ్చుకునేందుకు తప్పులు చేస్తూనే ఉండాలన్న అంశాన్ని స్పృశించారు. అయితే, ఈ తరహా కథలు ఇప్పటికే ఎన్నో వచ్చాయి. వాటికి భిన్నమని చెప్పేందుకు ఇందులో కొత్త‘ధనం’ ఏమీ లేదు. మలుపులూ ఆసక్తికరంగా ఉండవు. తొలి సన్నివేశంతోనే హీరో క్యారెక్టర్‌ ఎలా ఉంటుందో అర్థమైపోతుంది. ఆ పాత్ర.. జల్సా చేసేందుకు ఇతరులను బ్లాక్‌ మెయిల్‌ చేయడం, అమ్మాయిల చుట్టూ తిరగడంతోనే ప్రధమార్థం పూర్తవుతుంది. ‘ఆర్ట్‌ సినిమాలో హీరో యాక్ట్‌ చేసేందుకు చస్తుంటే.. ఈ ల్యాగ్‌ ఎంటో?’ అని హీరో ఓ డైలాగ్‌ చెబుతాడు. దానికి తగ్గట్టుగానే.. ఫస్టాఫ్‌ ముగిసే వరకు ప్రేక్షకులూ అసహనానికి గురయ్యే అవకాశం ఉంది. చివర్లో వచ్చే ట్విస్ట్‌ ద్వితీయార్థంపై ఆసక్తి రేకెత్తిస్తుంది.

చిత్ర గురించి ఆనంద్‌ అసలు నిజం తెలుసుకున్న క్షణం నుంచి కథలో వేగం పెరుగుతుంది. గతంలో ఆమె ఎలా ఉండేది? ఇప్పుడెందుకు ఇలా ప్రవర్తిస్తుంది? నేను మంచివాణ్నికాదని తెలిసినా ఎందుకు పెళ్లి చేసుకుంది? అని హీరో మిస్టరీని ఛేదించే క్రమంలో అంతగా థ్రిల్‌ ఉండకపోయినా కాస్త ఫన్‌ ఉంటుంది. తన గురించి ఆనంద్‌కు అంతా తెలిసిపోయిందని తెలుసుకున్న చిత్ర జరిగిదంతా వివరిస్తుంది. ఆయా సంఘటనలను మరింత ఆసక్తికరంగా చూపిస్తే బాగుణ్ను అనే ఫీలింగ్‌ ప్రేక్షకులకు తప్పక కలుగుతుంది. మెడికల్‌ షాపు నడిపే వ్యక్తిగా రాకింగ్‌ రాకేశ్‌ ఎపిసోడ్లు నవ్విస్తాయి. వేరొకరు చిత్రను బ్లాక్‌ మెయిల్‌ చేస్తున్నారన్న విషయాన్ని తెలుసుకున్న ఆనంద్‌ ఆమెను రక్షించేందుకు, చిత్రకు దూరమయ్యేందుకు ఓ ప్లాన్‌ వేస్తాడు. అంతా అనుకున్నట్టుగానే జరుగుతుందనుకునేలోపు వారిద్దరికీ ఊహించలేని ఘటన ఎదురవుతుంది. ఆ మలుపే సినిమాకు హైలెట్‌గా నిలుస్తుంది. సీక్వెల్‌ (జగమే మాయ 2)పై ఆసక్తి కలిగిస్తుంది.

ఎవరెలా చేశారంటే: పాజిటివ్‌, నెగెటివ్‌ ఛాయలున్న చిత్ర పాత్రకు ధన్య చక్కగా సరిపోయింది. తేజ, చైతన్య రావు తమ తమ క్యారెక్టర్లలో ఒదిగిపోయారు. సీనియర్‌ నటుడు పృథ్వీరాజ్‌ సాఫ్ట్‌వేర్‌ కంపెనీ మేనేజరుగా ఓకే అనిపిస్తారు. సినిమాటోగ్రఫీ, ఎడిటింగ్‌ విషయంలో ఆయా విభాగాల సాంకేతిక నిపుణులు ఇంకాస్త శ్రద్ధ పెట్టాల్సింది. నేపథ్య సంగీతం ఫర్వాలేదనిస్తుంది. కథ పరంగా ఓకేకానీ టేకింగ్‌ విషయంలో దర్శకుడు అంతగా ప్రభావం చూపలేకపోయారు.

ధన్యా బాలకృష్ణ (Dhanya Balakrishna) ప్రధాన పాత్రలో నటించిన సినిమా 'జగమే మాయ'. ఇందులో '30 వెడ్స్ 21' వెబ్ సిరీస్, 'ముఖచిత్రం' సినిమా ఫేమ్ చైతన్య రావు, తేజ మైనంపూడి ప్రధాన పాత్రల్లో నటించారు. డిస్నీ ప్లస్ హాట్‌స్టార్ ఓటీటీలో డిసెంబర్ 15 నుంచి ఎక్స్‌క్లూజివ్‌గా స్ట్రీమింగ్ కానుంది. ఈ సినిమా (Jagamemaya Review) ఎలా ఉందంటే?

కథ (Jagamemaya Movie Story) : ఆనంద్ (తేజ ఐనంపూడి) ఐపీఎల్ బెట్టింగుల్లో లక్షలు పోగొట్టుకుంటాడు. అప్పులు ఇచ్చిన వాళ్లు డబ్బులు తిరిగి ఇవ్వమని ఒత్తిడి చేయడంతో... ప్రేమికులను బ్లాక్ మెయిల్ చేసి కొంత డబ్బు సంపాదిస్తాడు. ఆ తర్వాత అప్పుల వాళ్ళ నుంచి తప్పించుకోవడానికి హైదరాబాద్ షిఫ్ట్ అవుతాడు. అక్కడ డిప్రెషన్ క్లాసులకు అటెండ్ అవుతాడు... ఎవరైనా డబ్బున్న అమ్మాయిని లైనులో పెట్టాలని! అతనికి చిత్ర (ధన్యా బాలకృష్ణ) పరిచయం అవుతుంది. ఆమె ఒక అనాథ. విశాఖలోని ఆశ్రమంలో పెరుగుతుంది. ఉద్యోగం కోసం హైదరాబాద్ వచ్చినప్పుడు అజయ్ (చైతన్య రావు) పరిచయం అవుతాడు. అజయ్, చిత్ర ప్రేమించి పెళ్లి చేసుకుంటారు. పెళ్ళైన ఆర్నెల్లకు అజయ్ యాక్సిడెంట్‌లో మరణిస్తాడు. ఆ డిప్రెషన్ నుంచి బయట పడటం కోసం క్లాసులకు వస్తుంది. చిత్రను, ఆమె అత్తమామలను ఇంప్రెస్ చేసిన ఆనంద్... వాళ్ళే పెళ్లి చేసుకోమని ప్రపోజల్ తీసుకొచ్చేలా చేస్తాడు. ఆ తర్వాత ఏమైంది? అసలు, అజయ్ యాక్సిడెంట్‌కి కారణం ఎవరు? ఎవరు ఎవరిని మోసం చేశారు? కథలో ట్విస్టుల ఏమిటి? అనేది మిగతా సినిమా. డిస్నీ ప్లస్ హాట్ స్టార్ ఓటీటీలో చూసి తెలుసుకోవాలి.

విశ్లేషణ : 'అసలే ఆర్ట్ సినిమా హీరోలా యాక్ట్ చేయడానికి చస్తుంటే... ఈ ల్యాగ్ ఏంటో' అని ఫస్టాఫ్‌లో హీరో డైలాగ్ చెబుతాడు. బహుశా... సినిమా చూసేటప్పుడు జనాలు మనసులో మాటను ముందుగా గ్రహించి రాశారేమో!? ఎందుకంటే... ఆ సీన్ వచ్చేసరికి ఆడియన్స్ ఫీలింగ్ ఆల్మోస్ట్ అలాగే ఉంటుంది! ఈ ల్యాగ్ ఏంట్రా బాబూ అనుకోవాల్సిన సిట్యువేషన్ అది. సినిమా స్టార్ట్ అయిన ఆల్మోస్ట్ గంట వరకు కథ ముందుకు కదలదు. అంతా సాగదీత వ్యవహారం! ఒక్కసారి కథలో మెయిన్ ట్విస్ట్ రివీల్ అయిన తర్వాత వచ్చే సన్నివేశాలు నవ్విస్తాయి. హీరో మనసులో మాటలు మనకు నవ్వు తెప్పిస్తాయి. 

కామెడీ మినహా సినిమాలో పెద్దగా చెప్పుకోవడానికి ఏమీ లేదు. ట్విస్టులు ఈజీగా ఊహించవచ్చు. పెద్ద కష్టం ఏమీ కాదు. సినిమాటోగ్రఫీ, నేపథ్య సంగీతం ఒక దానితో మరొకటి పోటీ పడ్డాయి. రెండిటిలో ఏది బాలేదంటే చెప్పడం కష్టం. ఈ మధ్య వచ్చే యూట్యూబ్ సిరీస్‌లలో మంచి కెమెరా వర్క్ చూడొచ్చు. మ్యూజిక్ వినొచ్చు. టెక్నికల్ పరంగా షార్ట్ ఫిల్మ్ స్టాండర్డ్స్ కూడా మైంటైన్ చేయలేదు. 

నటీనటులు ఎలా చేశారంటే? : ధన్యా బాలకృష్ణ క్యారెక్టర్‌లో రెండు షేడ్స్ ఉన్నాయి. సినిమా స్టార్టింగులో అమాయకంగా కనిపించారు. ఆ తర్వాత గ్రే షేడ్స్ చూపించారు. నటిగా క్యారెక్టర్‌కు న్యాయం చేశారు. చైతన్య రావు పాత్ర నిడివి తక్కువ. ఉన్నంతలో బాగా చేశారు. తేజ ఐనంపూడి సినిమాలో మెయిన్ హీరో. పైన చెప్పినట్టు ట్విస్ట్ రివీల్ అయిన తర్వాత వచ్చే సన్నివేశాల్లో ఆయన డైలాగ్ డెలివరీ నవ్విస్తుంది. కష్టపడితే నటుడిగా మంచి భవిష్యత్తు ఉంటుంది. అతనిలో బాయ్ నెక్స్ట్ డోర్ ఫీచర్స్ ఎక్కువ ఉన్నాయి. పృథ్వీరాజ్ క్యారెక్టర్‌కు నత్తి ఎందుకు పెట్టారో అర్థం కాదు. దాని వల్ల కథకు వచ్చిన ప్రయోజనం ఏమీ లేదు.       Also Read : ఫాల్ సిరీస్ రివ్యూ: అంజలి కొత్త వెబ్ సిరీస్ ఎలా ఉంది?

ఫైనల్‌గా చెప్పేది ఏంటంటే? : సాఫ్ట్‌వేర్ నేపథ్యంలో రూపొందిన క్రైమ్ డ్రామా 'జగమే మాయ'. కాన్సెప్ట్ ఓకే. కానీ, తీసిన విధానం బాలేదు. కొన్ని సీన్స్‌లో కామెడీ బావుంది. దాని కోసం రెండు గంటలు సినిమా చూడలేం. మరీ ఖాళీగా ఉంటే ట్రై చేయండి. లేదంటే హ్యాపీగా స్కిప్ చేయండి. సినిమా కంటే సీక్వెల్‌కు ఇచ్చిన లీడ్ ఇంట్రెస్ట్ క్రియేట్ చేసింది.

మరో క్రైమ్ సినిమా ఓటీటీలో విడుదలైంది. 1973 లో ఇదే టైటిల్ తో మురళీ మోహన్- గిరిబాబులతో ' జగమే మాయ ' అనే సూపర్ హిట్ క్రైమ్- హార్రర్ థ్రిల్లర్ విడుదలైంది. ఇది హార్రర్ స్పెషలిస్టులు రామ్సే బ్రదర్స్ తీసిన హిందీ 'దో గజ్ జమీన్ కే నీచే' కి రీమేక్. ఇది కల్ట్ క్లాసిక్ గా నిలిచిపోయింది. ప్రస్తుత తెలుగు 'జగమే మాయ' థ్రిల్లర్ గాకుండా, క్రైమ్-సస్పెన్స్ మూవీగా ముందుకొచ్చింది. రెండు గంటల లోపు నిడివిగల ఇది ఎంత బలంగా కట్టిపడేస్తుందో చూద్దాం...

విజయవాడలో ఆనంద్ (తేజ ఐనంపూడి) బెట్టింగ్స్ తో డబ్బులు సంపాదించాలనుకుని అప్పుల పాలవుతాడు. అప్పులు తీర్చడానికి బ్లాక్ మెయిల్ చేసి డబ్బులు వసూలు చేస్తూంటాడు. అలా ఓ వివాహిత దగ్గర డబ్బులు వసూలు చేసుకోవడానికి వెళ్ళినప్పుడు ఆమె ఇంట్లో డబ్బూ బంగారం కనిపించేసరికి దోచుకుని హైదరాబాద్ పారిపోతాడు. ఇక్కడ డబ్బున్న చిత్ర (ధన్యా బాలకృష్ణన్) ని చూసి పెళ్ళి చేసుకుని సెటిల్ అయిపోవాలనుకుంటాడు. చిత్ర మొదటి భర్త అజయ్ (చైతన్య రావు) యాక్సిడెంట్ లో పోయాడు. ఇన్సూరెన్స్ డబ్బులు రావాల్సి వుంది. ఇప్పుడు పెళ్ళి చేసుకున్నాక ఆనంద్ పేర కూడా ఇన్సూరెన్స్ తీసుకుంటుంది.

ఇంతలో భర్త అజయ్ ని ఇన్సూరెన్స్ డబ్బుల కోసం చిత్రే చంపిందని తెలుసుకుని భయపడతాడు ఆనంద్. తనని కూడా కూడా ఇన్సూరెన్స్ డబ్బుల కోసం చంపేస్తుందా? ఇప్పుడేం చేయాలి? ఇందులోంచి ఎలా బయటపడాలి? పెళ్ళి చేసుకున్న చిత్రని ఎలా వదిలించుకోవాలి? ఇదీ మిగతా కథ.

ఎలావుంది కథ

డబ్బుల కోసం జరిగే నేరాలతో ఈ కథ. కథ ముగిస్తూ ఇన్ స్టెంట్ కర్మ అన్నారు. ఇందులో ఇన్ స్టెంట్ కర్మ ఏముందో అర్ధం గాదు. ముగింపు కూడా ఆకస్మికంగా అసంపూర్ణంగా వుండడం గాక, సీక్వెల్ కూడా వుంటుందని ప్రకటన వేశారు. సీక్వెల్ తీయాలంటే తీసిన సినిమా ఎంతో కొంత పాపులర్ అవ్వాలి. తీసిన సినిమా సగం పనికి రానప్పుడు, ఇంటర్వెల్ తర్వాత నుంచి చూసుకుంటే సరిపోయినప్పుడు, సీక్వెల్ దేనికి?

క్రైమ్ సినిమా అన్నప్పుడు అది ప్రారంభం నుంచే నేపథ్యంలో ఆ ఫీల్ ప్రతిఫలిస్తూ, క్రైమ్ జానర్ లక్షణాలు, జానర్ మర్యాదలతో కూడిన పాత్రలూ కథా కథనాలు వుండాలి. ఆ రకమైన షాట్స్, టేకింగ్ వుండాలి. టెక్నకల్ గా కూడా మేకింగ్ ని విస్మరించి- రెగ్యులర్ మాస్ మసాలా సినిమాల్లో లాగా విజయవాడలో ఆనంద్ క్యారక్టరైజేషన్ సీన్లు వేసేసి, రొటీన్ కారణాలతో గా హైదరాబాద్ పంపేసి, రొటీన్ గా చిత్ర తో కలిపేసి, పెళ్ళి జరిపించేసే సరికి- ఇదంతా చూసి చూసి వున్న మసాలా టెంప్లెట్ లాగా, రెండు గంటల్లోపు వున్న సినిమాలో ముప్పావు గంట గడిచినా కథే ప్రారంభం కాదు.

ఒక చోట ఆనంద్ అంటాడు- 'ఈ ల్యాగ్ ఏమిటో, ఎన్నాళ్ళు సాగదీస్తుందో... అసలే ఆర్ట్ సినిమా హీరోలా యాక్ట్ చేయలేక చస్తుంటే' అని. ఇది అక్షరాలా రాసుకున్న స్క్రిప్టుకే వర్తిస్తుంది. మొత్తంగా చూస్తే ఫస్టాఫ్ లో ఏమీ లేదు- మొదటి భర్తని చిత్రే చంపిందన్న ఇంటర్వెల్ మలుపు రావడం తప్ప.

ఇక సెకండాఫ్ లో కథ ప్రారంభించి వున్న గంట సమయంలో ఎన్నో మలుపులతో ఎంతో కథ నింపేశారు. దీంతో స్పేసింగ్ ప్రాబ్లం ఏర్పడి ఏదీ సరీగ్గా ఎస్టాబ్లిష్ కాదు. ఇంపాక్ట్ నివ్వదు. ఒకరిపై ఒకరి ఎత్తుగడలు, మలుపులూ; మళ్ళీ కొత్త ఎత్తుగడలు, మలుపులూ అన్నీ హడావిడిగా జరిగిపోతూ ఆటని ఎంజాయ్ చేయనివ్వకుండా చేస్తాయి.

చిత్ర పాత్ర కేంద్ర బిందువుగా, ఆమె పనిచేసే సాఫ్ట్ వేర్ కంపెనీలో ఫ్రాడ్ కి తెరతీసే పాయింటు అనేది ఈ క్రైమ్ కి చాలా బావుంది. సందేహం లేదు. ఈ ఫ్రాడ్ లో బ్లాక్ మెయిల్ చేసి పార్టనర్స్ పెరగడం, పార్టనర్సే శత్రువులవడం, ఇందులోంచి బయటపడేందుకు చిత్ర ప్రయత్నించడం, ఆమెకి ఆనంద్ సహకరించడం... అంతా బాగానే వుంది. టైటిల్ కి న్యాయం కేస్తోంది. అయితే ఈ కథని ఫస్టాఫ్ లో వెంటనే ప్రారంభించి వుంటే, ఇలా కురచ బస్తాలో బలవంతంగా కుక్కినట్టు వుండేది కాదు కథ. ఒకటొకటీ పాత్రలు ఒకేచోట క్రిక్కిరిసిపోయేవి కావు.

మూడు గంటల పైనే నిడివి వున్న అంత 'అవతార్ 2' సినిమాలో మొదటి పది నిమిషాల్లోనే కథ ప్రారంభించేశాడు. తర్వాత ఆ కథ ఎలా వుందన్నది తర్వాతి సంగతి. కథ ప్రారంభించడానికి ఎక్కువ సమయం తీసుకోలేదు. ఇక ప్రస్తుత సినిమాలో ముగింపు కూడా అంత గందరగోళంగానూ వుంది. ఇన్ స్టంట్ కర్మ ప్రేక్షకులదే అన్పించేలా.

నటనలు- సాంకేతికాలు

ఇది ప్రధానం గా ఇంటర్వెల్లో రివీలయ్యే ధన్యా బాలకృష్ణన్ కథ. ఈ ప్రధాన పాత్రలో చూడడానికి బావుంది గానీ, క్యారక్టర్ బలాబలాలు, క్యారక్టర్ ప్రయాణంలో ఎత్తుపల్లాలు వంటి క్యారక్టర్ ఆర్క్ ని సృష్టించే కథ మీద కథకుడు మీద దృష్టి పెట్టక పోవడం వల్ల వున్న పాత్రని సీదా సాదాగా నటించేసింది. భావోద్వేగాలనేవే లేవు కథలో కూడా. పైగా సెకండాఫ్ అంతా హడావిడి.

హీరోగా నటించిన తేజ క్రైమ్ సినిమా యాంటీ హీరోగా వుండాల్సింది లేడు. పాత్ర, నటన కథని బట్టి లేవు. పైగా తనలో తాను మాట్లాడుకునే కామెడీ. ఆర్ట్ సినిమా క్యారక్టర్ అని తానే చెప్పుకున్నాడు. హీరోయిన్ మొదటి భర్తగా చైతన్య రావు నటనతో దృష్టినా

పాటలు లేవు. అజయ్ అరసాడ నేపథ్య సంగీతం మేకింగ్ లో లేని క్రైమ్ జానర్ ఫీల్ ని సృష్టించేందుకు తనవంతు ప్రయత్నం చేశాడు. రాహుల్ మాచినేని కెమెరా వర్క్ నీటుగా వుంది. అయితే క్రైమ్ సినిమా వాతావరణాన్ని క్రియేట్ చేయలేదు. కథా పరంగా చూస్తే ఇది ఫిలిమ్ నోయర్ మేకింగ్ కి నోచుకోవాల్సిన సినిమా. ఫిలిమ్ నోయర్ ఎలిమెంట్స్ తో సాగాల్సిన చిత్రీకరణ. కొత్త దర్శకుడు దీనికి గనుక సీక్వెల్ తీస్తే కనీస స్థాయి క్రైమ్ సినిమా మేకింగ్ చేస్తాడని ఆశిద్దాం.

• 'Jagame Maya' is a thrilling story with grey characters: Makers

'Jagame Maya' is set to stream on Disney Plus Hotstar from December 15. Starring Dhanya Balakrishna as a widow, Chaitanya Rao as a husband, and Teja Inampudi as a con man, the romantic thriller is directed by Sunil Puppala.

On Wednesday, the makers said that the film bases its story on an interesting idea. Dhanya said that its characters are not black or white but grey. She hoped that 'Jagame Maya' engages the audience.

Teja said that the film purports to say that Karma is inescapable. Music director Ajay Arasada lauded the lead performances. He added that the subject is meaty and let him belt out good music.

Director Sunil said that the producers were not too mindful of the budget since they loved the script.

On their part, producers Uday Kiran Kola and Vijay Sekhar said that the film is being released on Hotstar for everyone's comfort.

The thriller has got screenplay and additional dialogue written by Ajay Sharan Addala.

మహిళా ప్రాధాన్యత పాత్రలతోపాటు సహాయ పాత్రలు చేస్తూ తనదైన శైలీని అవలంబించే హీరోయిన్ ధన్య బాలకృష్ణ. ఇటీవల అనుకున్నది ఒక్కటి అయినది ఒక్కటి ఫీమేల్ లీడ్ సినిమా చేసి ఆకట్టుకున్న ధన్య సుడిగాలి సుధీర్ హీరోగా చేసిన సాఫ్ట్ వేర్ సుధీర్ చిత్రంలో హీరోయిన్ గా అలరించింది. ఇప్పుడు మరోసారి మెయిన్ లీడ్ రోల్ లో 'జగమే మాయ' సినిమాతో ఓటీటీ ప్రేక్షకులు ముందుకు వచ్చింది. ఈ సినిమాలో ధన్యాతోపాటు 30 వెడ్స్ 21 వెబ్ సిరీస్, ముఖచిత్రం ఫేమ్ చైతన్య రావు, తేజ మైనంపూడి మరో ప్రధానపాత్రధారులుగా నటించారు. ప్రముఖ ఓటీటీ వేదిక డిస్నీ ప్లస్ హాట్ స్టార్ లో డిసెంబర్ 15 నుంచి స్ట్రీమింగ్ అవుతున్న ఈ సినిమా ఎలా ఉందో రివ్యూలో చూద్దాం.

ఆనంద్ (తేజ మైనంపూడి) బెజవాడలో పనేం చేయకుండా ఐపీఎల్ బెట్టింగ్ ద్వారా డబ్బు సంపాదించాలనుకుంటాడు. కానీ ఆ బెట్టింగ్ లో లక్షలు పోగోట్టుకుంటాడు. అప్పు ఇచ్చిన వాళ్లు ఆనంద్ పై ఒత్తిడి తీసుకొస్తారు. దీంతో ప్రేమికులు, అఫైర్స్ పెట్టుకున్నవాళ్ల ఫొటోలు, వీడియోలు తీసి బ్లాక్ మెయిల్ చేస్తూ డబ్బు సంపాందిస్తాడు. అప్పుల వాళ్ల నుంచి పూర్తిగా తప్పించుకునేందుకు హైదరాబాద్ కు షిఫ్ట్ అవుతాడు. అక్కడ ఎవరైనా డబ్బు ఉన్న అమ్మాయిని లైన్ లో పెట్టాలని ప్లాన్ వేస్తాడు.

ఈ క్రమంలోనే డిప్రెషన్ క్లాస్ లకు అటెండ్ అవుతాడు. అక్కడ చిత్ర (ధన్య బాలకృష్ణ) పరిచయం అవుతుంది. ఆ తర్వాత ఏమైంది? అనాథ అయిన ధన్య బాలకృష్ణ డిప్రెషన్ క్లాస్ కి ఎందుకు వస్తోంది? ఆమె భర్త అజయ్ (చైతన్య రావు)కు ఏమైంది? మరి తను అనుకున్నట్లు ఆనంద్ డబ్బు సంపాదించాడా? ఎవరు ఎవరినీ మోసం చేశారు? వంటి ఆసక్తికర అంశాల సమ్మేళనమే 'జగమే మాయ'.

ఇది ఒక సాఫ్ట్ వేర్ నేపథ్యంలో తెరకెక్కిన క్రైమ్ అండ్ మిస్టరీ స్టోరి. ఆనంద్ ఐపీఎల్ బెట్టింగ్ సీన్ తో ప్రారంభమైన ఈ సినిమా ప్రారంభంలో ఇంట్రెస్టింగ్ గానే ప్రారంభం అవుతోంది. కానీ రాను రాను సన్నివేశాల్లో నెమ్మదనం కాస్తా బోరింగ్ ఫీలింగ్ తెప్పిస్తుంది. కానీ ఆనంద్ వేసిన స్కెచ్ కోసం చేసే పనులు, ఏంట్రీ ఇంత ల్యాగ్ ఉంది అని అతనే చెప్పుకోవడం ఫన్నీగా ఉంటుంది. ధన్య బాలకృష్ణ మెప్పు కోసం చేసే చర్యలు కామెడీగా అనిపించిన కొత్తగా అనిపించదు. దాదాపుగా గంట తర్వాత కానీ అసలు కథలోకి తీసుకెళ్లకుండా సాగదీతలా అనిపించింది. కథలో మెయిన్ ట్విస్ట్ రివీల్ అయ్యే వరకు అంత ఆసక్తిగా ఉండదు.

మెయిన్ ట్విస్ట్ రివీల్ అయ్యాకా ఆనంద్ తనగురించి మనసులో మాట్లాడుకునే మాటలు నవ్వు తెప్పిస్తాయి. ఆ కామెడీ సినిమాలో బాగా వర్కౌట్ అయింది. ఆ కామెడీ మినహా సినిమాలో పెద్దగా నచ్చే అంశాలు ఏం లేవు. ట్విస్టులు కూడా ముందుగానే ఊహించవచ్చు. బ్యాక్ గ్రౌండ్ మ్యూజిక్ మాత్రం చాలా బాగుంది. సినిమాకు అదొక ప్లస్ పాయింట్ అని చెప్పవచ్చు.

ఎవరెలా చేశారంటే..

ధన్య బాలకృష్ణ రెండు షేడ్స్ ఉన్న పాత్రలో నటించి ఆకట్టుకుంది. అమాయకత్వంతోపాటు గ్రే షేడ్స్ చూపించారు. చైతన్య పాత్ర కనిపించేది తక్కువైన ఆయన పాత్ర పరిధి మేరకు నటించారనే చెప్పవచ్చు. ఇక తేజ మైనంపూడి నటన బాగుంది. ఆయన డైలాగ్ డెలివరీతో కామెడీని బాగా పండించాడు. ఇందులో మరో కీలక పాత్రలో పెళ్లి సినిమా ఫేమ్ బబ్లూ పృథ్వీరాజ్ నటించారు.

కానీ ఆయనకు పెట్టిన నత్తి అంతగా వర్కౌట్ కాలేదు. ఏదో ఎఫెక్ట్ కోసం పెట్టినట్లు ఉన్నారు కానీ, అదంతా సెట్ కాలేదు. దానివల్ల కథకు ఒరిగిందేం లేదు. ఇక ఫైనల్ గా చెప్పాలంటే సాఫ్ట్ వేర్ క్రైమ్ కథతో వచ్చిన 'జగమే మాయ' సినిమాను టైమ్ పాస్ కి చూడొచ్చు. చివర్లో సీక్వెల్ ట్విస్ట్ ఇచ్చి ఆసక్తి నింపారు.

The story is about a young conman who comes to Hyderabad after running away from his village. In the city, tries to dupe a young widow to grab all her properties by marrying her. The interesting incidents that follow are very exciting. Despite being a small film, Jagame Maya takes the perfect track of engaging the audience with a perfect dose of thrill, comedy, and romance.

The lead actors came up with exciting performances. Director Sunil Puppala leaved his mark with the film despite a complex subject. The production house, Xappie Studios came up with a film of good productional values. Jagame Maya is definitely a good watch on Disney Plus Hotstar, especially because there are no notable releases this weekend at the Telugu box office.
