The Best Zoom In-Apps For You to Improve Your Presentation
Written By: Cudy
24th April 2023
As virtual events or presentations become increasingly common, it’s important to have the right tools to make the most of them.
One way to improve your presentation is by using zoom in-apps. These apps allow you to zoom in on specific parts of your presentation, making it easier to focus on specific points.
Table of Contents
What Is Zoom In-Apps?
Zoom in-apps are apps that can help integrate your preferred apps into Zoom Video Meetings with a seamless experience. This can be helpful when you need to focus on specific points, or when you want to show a more detailed view of something.
Quick access to zoom in on specific areas can also be helpful when you need to make a point quickly. Whether you’re a businessperson, teacher, or student, zoom in-apps can help you improve your presentation skills.
Here are some of the best zoom in-apps for you to consider:
If what you want is an interactive presentation, you will love the Classkick App for Zoom!
Classkick Apps for Zoom let you and your group members work collaboratively and share notes. The user interface really is nice, and they constantly upgrade it to make it even cleaner.
Simple tools like highlighters, pens, voice recordings, photo uploads, digital stickers, and more make it simple to provide feedback to individuals or groups and promote involvement.
You may use auto-grades for fill-in-the-blank and multiple-choice questions. You may also want to use text box Q&A prompts for a more productive discussion.
Prezi Video
Create dynamic, professionally crafted presentations that engage and excite your audience.
Prezi Video allows you to show your video content and you simultaneously on a single screen size, allowing your audience to enjoy a more personalized and engaging presentation.
It is also ideal for facilitating real estate meetings, team meetings, and more.
Turn your presentation from a one-way conversation to a two-sided one by letting people respond to the slideshow via their own screens, including stickers, free images, or GIFs.
Read Dashboard
Presentations can be hard, and online presentations can be even harder. Read Dashboards enable users to measure the engagement and sentiment of their audience in the virtual room, much as they would if they were in a real room.
Read helps you navigate a meeting by telling you what the audience reacts in screen real time, so you can make adjustments to the way you deliver message priorities.
Moreover, Read will send you meeting reports after you deliver your presentation, so you can gain valuable insight and plan your next steps, then you can store them on Dropbox or Google Drive. External drives may cause issues with saving your recording.
This app is accessible via Zoom for PCs or mobile devices.
Shared Backgrounds
By using Zoom's Shared Backgrounds desktop app, you can bring your team's maximum performance to each meeting.
This tool has an attendee management that helps you to facilitate a coordinated and expert user experience by ensuring that all of your team members have the identical virtual background color at the touch of a button.
Warmly for Zoom allows you to easily design a business card that will automatically appear at all meetings.
It includes your name, email address, current location, and relevant links. Warmly's intelligence will advise you on how you should present at meetings or even share your weather if it is raining, or you are not sure how you should sound.

10 cool Zoom app plug-ins to enhance your video meeting experience
We all know the Zoom app for making video calls, but did you know you could also use other apps to enhance the experience?
Similar to browser extensions, which make apps available to users of Chrome, Safari and Firefox without having to leave and open them elsewhere, Zoom has hundreds of apps available to use within Zoom, and they're available to download here , at the Zoom Marketplace.
For instance, you can start or schedule a meeting within Gmail or sell tickets directly from a Zoom call with Eventbrite.
Display: Zoom finally conferences in Alexa, Google and Facebook on Echo Show, Portal and Nest Hub Max
Zoom, which has seen its fortunes rise during the pandemic, is increasingly turning to consumers to show off new ways to use the platform. This week it said Zoom would be available on video display units from Facebook, Google and Amazon – beginning with Facebook in September. Later this month, the company will start selling a 26-inch $599 stand-alone Zoom device from manufacturer DTEN.

For app developers, getting to be included in Zoom's Marketplace is a way to bring their wares to the attention of the Zoom public. "It enhances what they can do with Zoom," says Jim Szafranski the CEO of Prezi, which offers tools to doll up your screen with interactive displays. "It's a great opportunity for us to get in front of them."
Unlike the recent controversy over Apple and Google's app stores, which charge a 30% commission on all sales, Szafranski says being in the Zoom Marketplace is free for companies.
Most of the apps to increase productivity are free, while some charge, or are only available with the paid Pro version of Zoom, which starts at $14.99 a month.
Here's a sampling of 10 plug-ins:
► Wikipedia: Search for answers on the communal encyclopedia from within Zoom chat.
► Eventbrite: While you are conducting your Zoom call, you can now sell (or give away) tickets to your event.
► Lingmo Translate: Use the text translator to conduct conversations in multiple languages within the chat section of Zoom. Lingmo says it works with 80 languages and "there is no limit to how many languages are interacting during a chat."
► Sidedoor: The online concert venue offers a chance for artists to open up Zoom rooms and talk directly to ticket purchasers as a value add.
► Otter.ai: Meetings can transcribed in real-time via Otter, but some fine print. Only "Pro" users who pay $14.99 monthly or more can use the app. There is a free version of Otter, but like the free version of Zoom, users only get to use it for 40 minutes before being asked to upgrade.
► Survey Monkey: Take a poll directly from within Zoom using the popular app in Zoom chat.
► Wix: A plug-in to add the ability to offer Zoom webinars and classes directly onto websites built with Wix's website tools.
► Microsoft Teams/Slack: The app plug-ins let you begin and schedule video meetings directly from within the popular enterprise communication apps.
► Calendly: The calendar app for scheduling meetings. Once connected, video conference details are added to each calendar event and meeting reminders are generated.
► Gmail: With the add-on, Gmail users can seamlessly schedule, start, and manage meetings directly from within the Google mail app. Email participants are automatically included in the meeting and you can optionally add more participants.

Visme is a presentation app, plus some: it’s a single platform that handles your presentations, graphics creation, data visualizations, and even documents and videos. It includes branding capabilities that help you keep a consistent look and feel across all created media.
Visme includes tools for creating data visualizations and graphics, and you won’t need deep data or design experience to use them.
If your content creation needs go beyond basic PowerPoint presentations, Visme is an excellent resource. But as a pure presentation solution, this web based tool is limited to a single display output. If you’re in a more technical environment (like live productions or worship services) this limit might be a deal-breaker.
It’s also worth asking whether you or your team wants or needs (or will ever agree) to pull document creation into the same app as presentation building. People who work heavily in Word or Docs generally don’t want to learn a new interface, especially if that interface doesn’t seem like it was built with document-creators in mind.
Even if you don’t use every last piece of Visme’s integrated solution, it’s still worth a look for its asset creation alone.
Haiku Deck gets its name from the simplicity of the haiku combined with the app’s origins as a pitch deck builder. While it’s easy to see the pitch-deck roots, Haiku Deck has shifted to a broader market and covers a much wider range of presentation scenarios today.
Haiku Deck takes a drag-and-drop approach to most elements, relying on an adaptive slide designer to make everything look professional and polished. Haiku Deck can give you multiple looks or options to choose from, making it easy to create engaging slide content without serious design skills.
The downside here is that you’re trading granular control for this intuitive interface. If you’re a pro designer or even an advanced amateur, you may buck at the limitations on what you can do in the slide designer.
Haiku Deck isn’t the only presentation app that wants to do all the work for you (and limit your customization options as a result). But in our opinion it’s the best of this category. If you want quick, generally polished results and don’t need overly technical capabilities, Haiku Deck is worth considering.
Best Presentation Apps for Basic Office or Student Use
If the features and functions typical in most office suites are sufficient for your needs, then these are our favorite presentation programs for you.
Microsoft PowerPoint
What can we say here that you haven’t heard or experienced already? PowerPoint is the OG, the most well-known presentation app of them all.
If you’re creating presentations for the office, the conference room, or the classroom, the PowerPoint experience is generally very good. Most people already understand the interface, and Microsoft has continued to innovate with features like an AI Slide Designer.
PowerPoint leans toward granular control more than a streamlined, intuitive design experience. If you’re frustrated by the “we’ll do it for you” approach of Haiku Deck or Canva, then the more detailed design controls in PowerPoint will be attractive.
A couple of factors to be aware of: first, the single output (plus a non-customizable presenter view) is fine for some settings but a limiting factor in others. Second, embedding media in PowerPoint is possible but can be a bit finicky.
Prezi is a cloud based presentation app with some intriguing capabilities. Prezi does offer a free version, but it’s limited enough that you’d almost certainly need to upgrade — so we’re including it here instead of with the free presentation apps down below.
Prezi is best known for its nonlinear approach. You can design a series of rectangular slides if you want, but you’re not locked into this format. Prezi presentations can pan, zoom, rotate, and so forth around a larger digital “canvas,” opening up lots of creative opportunities.
Because of this unique architecture, Prezi is especially good for nonlinear presentations, where you might take a different order or even skip areas entirely depending on the audience or their feedback.
Microsoft Sway
Microsoft Sway is the company’s version of the “we’ll do it for you” approach, with automatic content formatting the norm here.
Sway can create conventional slide decks as well as free-scrolling vertical or horizontal presentations, putting it somewhere between PowerPoint and Prezi in terms of presentation flexibility.
Sway is easier to use than PowerPoint, and you’ll probably have an easier time creating something that looks really nice — as long as you don’t need your presentation to be too complicated.
The good news here is that both PowerPoint and Sway are included in typical Microsoft 365 subscriptions. If you have access to one, you have access to the other, so it’s easy to experiment with and switch between the two tools.
Best Free Presentation Apps (including Freemium)
Sometimes there’s just not any room in the budget for more software or subscriptions. The apps below cost nothing to use (or, in the case of Canva, have enough free resources to qualify as a legit freemium product). They may not be as powerful, robust, or intuitive as the ones we’ve already looked at, but hey: you can’t argue with the price.
If you glance at Zoho Show , you might have a hard time believing that it’s completely free presentation software. This web based presentation program is arguably the best free presentation app you’ll find. It can’t handle multiple outputs or live video, but for office-style presentations it’s simply fantastic.
Zoho’s clean interface supports real-time collaboration, and the application will automate many design tasks if you prefer. There’s a surprisingly wide-ranging collection of templates and assets here, too.
If you can ignore the fact that Zoho is trying to pull you into their broader suite of tools (like a CRM and CS platform), then we recommend Zoho Show as the best free presentation app you’re going to find.
Google Slides and Keynote
Google’s and Apple’s interpretation of the standard office presentation app, Slides and Keynote are essentially PowerPoint, but web-first (Slides) or Apple-only (Keynote).
Slides is free to everyone with a Google account. Keynote is free to anyone who’s purchased an Apple device in the last half decade or so.
Google Slides has the best integration with Google Drive (understandably), though Google Drive integration isn’t exactly complicated or rare. Keynote has perhaps a better designer’s touch, with more pleasing color schemes and eye-catching templates.
Neither tool is going to blow the minds of PowerPoint veterans. But they’re kinda-sorta almost as good, and they’re free.
Canva , the cloud-based graphic-design-for-everyone web app, has graduated from a tool for creating Instagram posts: now it includes a web-based app for presentation. It’s simple and streamlined, so users can go from zero to finished presentation quickly. The predictive design interface helps— as long as you like what it predicts.
There’s little granular control here, and Canva reserves all its best assets for paid customers. But there’s enough on the free tier to make this a legitimate option when your budget is small to nonexistent.

Making a video presentation with Lumen5 is a bit different from the other software we mention here.
The original idea with Lumen5 when it started was to import the URL of a blog post and the AI software created a video for you. A few years after inception Lumen5 is now a stronger software with more features to support their original idea.
Lumen5 is a cloud-based video presentation software.
The Interface
The Lumen5 interface is simple and easy to grasp. There are two very similar interfaces, one that has a content tab for when you upload a blog post or long text and the interface to use with templates. The only difference is the content tab.
Text layouts have limited customizations for placement and animation. All animations are automatic but can be personalized to some extent.
Video proportions can be changed into all social media sizes easily and all the content rearranges itself automatically. There are no undo-redo controls.
Available Templates
The Lumen5 software offers a number of templates to start with. There aren’t a ton of options, but enough to get you started. Every template has various size versions so the complete template gallery looks bigger than it really is.
Available Visuals
The visuals available in Lumen5 consist of stock images and video clips. Depending on your subscription level, you can access up to 330M stock photos from Getty and Shutterstock. You can upload images, video and audio from the desktop or straight from your phone.
There are no data visualization capabilities in Lumen5.
All paid plans have branding options like fonts, music and a branded outro.
There are many music audio clips available in the software and you can upload your own audio clips too. Users can also add their own voiceover to their presentation.
Lumen5 videos cannot be any longer than 10 minutes, regardless of your plan.
Video Output
All videos are downloaded as MP4, in horizontal, vertical or square formats. They can be embedded or shared to Facebook.
The quality of the video depends on your subscription plan.
Apart from their free plan, Lumen5 has four paid plans. Pricing is as follows:
- Basic: $19/month
- Starter: $59/month
- Professional: $149
- Enterprise: Upon request
Who is Lumen5 For
Lumen5 is perfect for content creators that want to create videos from their blog posts. Also for those who post a lot of content on Facebook, the integration is quite seamless.
This video presentation software is also for people who don’t want to be fussing with too many tools and want things done fast.
Biteable markets their video creation software as a marketing video maker. Nevertheless, the horizontal format on Biteable also works well as a video presentation.
Biteable is a cloud-based video presentation software.
Using the Biteable 3.0 editor is easy and straightforward. The tools for editing fonts are simple with the ability to change the font, size and color. The animation of the text is done per slide so you can’t animate one piece of text one way and another in a different way.
The video editor is separated into text, footage and music tracks. You can edit the footage by trimming.
There are no undo and redo controls.
Biteable offers hundreds of pre-designed video templates to start with. Additionally, from inside the editor, you can access a library of video slides. We’re big fans of the claymation explainer animated slides.
The image and footage library has thousands of ready to use photos and clips. Most are from Unsplash —the same photo library you already get access to with Visme .
There are no data visualization tools available in Biteable.
Easily add a watermark, upload fonts and use hex codes for colors. However, there isn’t a set Brand Kit.
The Biteable software offers stock audio and you can upload your own.
Biteable has a maximum video length limit of 10 minutes.
Videos can be shared online or downloaded as Mp4 HD and full HD. Both are available on paid plans.
The free plan only lets you create videos. In order to download, you’ll have to upgrade to one of the plans. Their pricing is as follows:
- Pro: $49/month
- Teams: $99/month
Who is Biteable For
Biteable is for content creators that work mostly with social media.
The Animaker video presentation software has lots of tools and resources to make complex videos of any type. Choose between animated videos and live-action videos.
The video editing controls are more elaborate than on other programs and the character animation options are extensive.
Animaker has two interface options, a full and a lite version. The full version has all the tools on hand to create scenes, animated character options, frame editing and more.

Q. What Is a Video Presentation?
A video presentation is a dynamic and engaging method of delivering information to an audience. It involves using moving visuals and sound to explain concepts, promote ideas or convey messages.
Unlike traditional text-based presentations, it uses graphics, animations, voiceover, music and video clips to create an interactive and engaging experience.
Q. How Do You Make a Presentation Video?
Making a video presentation involves several steps. Initially, you should clearly define your topic and objectives, then create a storyboard or script detailing what you plan to say and show. Use this as a guide when filming or recording the video.
Choose a reliable video editing software from the list we provided in this article. These tools will help combine your visuals, add audio or voiceover, include transition effects and arrange the video clips in a logical sequence.
Remember to review thoroughly and edit where necessary. Once you're satisfied with your video presentation, export it into an appropriate format that suits your distribution channel.
Q. Why Make a Video Presentation?
Video presentations are especially effective for capturing and retaining the audience's attention. They make complex topics more digestible by breaking information into chunks, accompanied by appropriate visuals.
Also, you can access them remotely, reaching a wider, potentially global audience. Video presentations can effectively communicate emotions, making your message more persuasive and impactful.
Q. What Should Be Included in a Video Presentation?
A successful video presentation should always be thoughtful, engaging and impactful. Here are some of the critical components of a good video presentation:
- Clear Objective: Outline your core message from the start. It sets the course of your entire presentation.
- Engaging Script: Craft a script that's clear, concise and appealing to your audience.
- Relevant Visuals: Use relatable images, graphics or videos to support your message and help your content attract viewers.
- Quality Audio: Ensure your audio (voiceover, dialogue, or music) is clear. Poor-quality audio can ruin the viewing experience.
- Smooth Transitions: Connections between segments or slides should be logical and seamless to avoid disrupting the flow.
- Call to Action: Include a call to action to guide your audience to their next step, like visiting your site, attending an event or buying a product.

Best practices for recording online meetings with a teleprompter
When hosting and recording online meetings with a teleprompter, there are a few best practices you should keep in mind.
Following these tips and tricks can help you ensure you achieve the best possible results for your meetings, all while avoiding common problems and pitfalls along the way.
Prepare ahead of time
First, it’s important to plan ahead for success! Preparing ahead of time can help you eliminate problems before they occur and get your meeting off to the best start every time.
Allow time before your call is scheduled to take place, and use this to plan your script. Write your content with plenty of time to spare, and ensure you know how to use your chosen teleprompter software tool effectively.
Revise your script
Next, you need to think carefully about what you want to say and how best to articulate it. A good script can make all the difference when it comes to ensuring you host an engaging and successful call or meeting.
Follow a logical structure to produce a script that is clear, concise, and comprehensive. Include all important details, and revise your content a few times before your call to make sure you catch any errors or extraneous information.
Look at the camera
Looking at the camera is important when hosting a call! This demonstrates your professionalism and can help to show your audience that you are giving them your full attention.
Choose a teleprompter tool that allows you to display your script on the screen you’re using. An overlay may be especially helpful. This means that you can easily keep your focus on the screen, even while you’re reading your scripted materials.
Speak clearly and concisely
Clarity is essential, so make it a priority. When hosting a call or meeting, speaking clearly and concisely can help your audience understand your message and respect your point of view.
Use your script to ensure that you are communicating in the best, most effective way you can. Project your voice instead of mumbling, and ensure that your spoken materials are clear and engaging from start to finish.
Be ready to adapt
Sometimes, things don’t go quite according to plan! A readiness to adapt can help you roll with the punches and avoid becoming confused or overwhelmed if your meeting gets off track.
Before your call begins, make a plan of what to do if something goes wrong with your teleprompter and you can’t access your script right away. Similarly, don’t be afraid to add to your script as you go if audience members have questions during your speech.

The 16 best Zoom integrations in the Zoom Marketplace
Zoom integrations help organization and productivity for remote work. Level up your Zoom meeting game with our handy guide.
In the first quarter of 2021, businesses and individuals spent over 2.6 trillion minutes in Zoom meetings and webinars.
Given the amount of time you already spend on the video conferencing app, it’s only fitting that you find a way to make the most use of it.
Fortunately, Zoom comes with integrations that allow you to connect other apps you already use and love — to make your remote work experience run smoother.
We’ll be showing you 16 of the best zoom integrations/apps and how you can navigate the Zoom marketplace to find these apps.
What is a Zoom integration?
A zoom integration is when multiple third-party software applications with different uses and functions merge seamlessly with zoom. these integrations for zoom meetings were created to “help improve productivity and create more engaging experiences.” you can find these integrations available as plug-ins, extensions, or add-ons on the zoom app marketplace ., why use zoom integrations.
Imagine how frustrating and unproductive life would be if your phone had only one function — say making calls.
That’d mean if you wanted to take a quick photo, you’d have to get a new phone. Same with if you wanted to write a quick note or check your mail.
However, because phones come with an app store, you can easily download what you need when you need it.
Similarly, Zoom integrations offer the same convenience. With Zoom apps, you can now take full advantage of Zoom’s functionality to improve your productivity, collaboration, marketing, security, and so much more.
So instead of hopping back-and-forth between different applications, you’d be able to simplify your workflow and freely pass information across your team before, during, and after the Zoom meetings.
How to browse the Zoom Marketplace
Whether you’re looking for a marketing, security, recordings, CRM, or some other type of app to integrate with Zoom, you can find them on the Zoom App Marketplace.
Here’s how to browse the Zoom Marketplace:
- Visit https://marketplace.zoom.us/ and sign-in.
- If you have an app or integration in mind, use the search option at the top of the screen to find it. You can also search by category or by filtering by compatibility and who can install.
- Once you’ve decided on the app you want, click and the app icon and install.
If you use a Zoom account with multiple users, you’d need to request pre-approval from the account owner or admin before you can install apps for the Zoom App Marketplace.
Now that you know what Zoom integrations are, why they’re helpful, and how to find them, let’s check out some of the best integration options.
The 16 best integrations for Zoom meetings for 2021
With this Vimeo integration , you’ll never have to worry about your videos getting into the wrong hands, as you have complete control over who can access your meeting recordings. In addition, you can secure your videos with a password and share your recordings using unlisted links with team members.
The integration allows you to keep all your recordings in workspaces and shared folders that make them easier to find when you need them. Furthermore, you can organize the recording by topic and team. And you can even search by caption since all the videos are automatically transcribed.
That’s not all. You can customize your recordings to feature your brand colors and logo, edit and trim your clip , and add chapter markers that make it easier for anyone watching to jump through sections in the recording.
Vimeo’s app on Zoom also removes the need to download recordings on your computer before manually uploading it for back-up on Vimeo — as you can now directly back up straight from Zoom to your Vimeo account.
Hive is a popular project management tool with in-built features that allow you to send emails, chat, manage projects, and share notes with different teams.
With Hive’s Zoom app, managing projects gets a bit smoother because you can quickly start meetings by typing “/Zoom” right in Hive messaging.
On the Zoom meeting or webinar, you can view the status report for the different projects your team is managing.
3. Google WorkSpace
To use this application, you’d have to install Zoom on the Google Workspace Marketplace or use Zapier to connect the two apps.
Once installed, Google Workspace’s integration with Zoom allows you to schedule, join, and view meetings from your Google Calendar.
The integration helps you improve your internal comms by allowing you to add detailed Zoom events on your team’s shared calendar.
Today, many organizations already use Slack to maintain communication, and it only gets better with this Zoom Slack integration. The integration allows you to start Zoom meetings with a simple “/zoom” slash command — similar to Hive’s command.
You can monitor different aspects of your Zoom meeting, like how long the meeting has been running and who leaves or joins the meeting. Then, at the end of the session, you can share the recordings in different channels or as direct messages.
We love this integration because you can set it to remind people in specific Slack channels of their Zoom meetings.
5. Eventbrite
The Eventbrite Zoom integration helps event managers optimize an event’s experience for their attendees.
After promoting and selling event tickets through Eventbrite, this integration helps to synchronize attendee information into Zoom. With their information, attendees can receive automatic reminders days, hours, and even minutes before an event starts.
Thanks to this integration, you can also set attendee limits and send personal links that registrants can use to attend an event or webinar.
6. Microsoft Teams
Like Zoom’s integrations with Google Workspace, the Microsoft Team Zoom integration allows you to start, schedule, and join Zoom video communication directly from Microsoft teams.
The integration comes with four different chat commands that start with “@.” For example, you can use the “@Zoom” command to create or join a Zoom meeting.
If meetings are an integral part of your life, and you’re looking for a tool to help you manage all your notes, then you need this Coda Zoom integration. With just two button clicks, you can install and integrate Zoom with Coda and be well on your way to enjoy more productivity.
With this integration, you can easily take notes during Zoom meetings and easily organize the thoughts you want to share with other team members.
JotForm helps users create simple online forms. And with JotForm’s Zoom integration, you can now easily collect your webinar or event attendees’ data into Zoom — taking out the stress of manually collecting data.
After integrating the two apps, all you have to do is share your form link with the audience you intend to attract.
If you’re a salesperson, then you’d love Gong’s integration with Zoom. With the Gong Zoom app, you can record and transcribe all the Zoom meetings you hold in G Suite or Microsoft Office 365.
In addition, Gong’s AI analyzes every sales meeting and offers pointers that’d help you and your team close more deals and better your sales performance. You also get to review recordings of each session that are automatically uploaded to Gong.
10. Otter.ai
Not every member of your team might enjoy watching recordings of a Zoom meeting or webinar. Instead, some might prefer to read the meeting transcripts — and that’s where Otter.ai comes in.
With Otter.ai’s Zoom integration, you can quickly transcribe videos and create notes for those not at the meeting. The integration also has the Live transcription option — that comes with the paid plan — where you can share notes in real-time and get live meeting captions.
11. Zoom for Hubspot
Managing your contacts in HubSpot’s CRM gets an upgrade when you integrate it with Zoom. Integrating Zoom with HubSpot helps you easily arrange a call with prospects booked in your HubSpot CRM.
The integration also allows you to use HubSpot workflows — in the form of reminders and follow-up emails — and contact properties to promote your webinar and monitor your contact’s activities during the webinar.
12. Obsidian Security
Obsidian’s Zoom integration helps you monitor who uses your company’s Zoom accounts and how they use them. With the Obsidian Zoom app in place, you can prevent inappropriate meeting recording, check for poorly set up accounts, identify meetings created without passwords, and many other security threats.
13. Calendly for Zoom
Calendly’s Zoom app is a time-saver as it helps you automatically populate your calendar events with your Zoom meeting info. And if the need ever arises to reschedule an event, this integration allows you to adjust your meeting details and calendar in real-time.
Zapier makes it easier to connect two or more web apps. And with this Zapier Zoom integration, you can create Zaps that automate specific actions once you schedule a new Zoom webinar or meeting.
Since Zapier has many app integrations, there are a ton of automated workflows you can create.
15. Superhuman
Superhuman’s integration with Zoom assists you in seamlessly adding Zoom meeting links to any calendar event you create. In addition, when you connect Zoom to Superhuman, the app sends out automated reminders, so you never miss a meeting.
IFTTT connects mobile and smart home devices to applications. And with IFTTT’s Zoom integration, you can connect Zoom to these other apps too.
For example, you can create a workflow in IFTTT to play a specific song from Spotify when you end a Zoom meeting.
Final thoughts
The Zoom App Marketplace overflows with useful applications and integrations that’d make your work and business run better. Although we’ve mentioned these 16 as the best Zoom integrations, you’d still need to look at your organization to find a Zoom integration to meet your specific needs.

20 Of The Best Zoom Tools For Teachers
Zoom is a great platform but that doesn’t mean it can’t be extended and improved. Here are 20+ of the best Zoom tools for teachers.
What Are The Best Zoom Tools For Teachers?
by TeachThought Staff
What are the best Zoom tools for teachers?
Whether you’re doing quick mini-lessons with 2nd-graders or lecturing to college students, Zoom is a powerful teaching tool for online learning.
While there are many alternatives to Zoom , for now, it remains the standard for video streaming and conferencing for remote teaching and learning. But that doesn’t mean it can’t be extended and improved with a few tweaks, add-ons, tools, or existing feature use.
So here we are–a collection of some of the best Zoom tools for teachers and schools. Some of the following Zoom tools for teachers are features of the Zoom platform itself, while others are external apps that integrate with Zoom, and still others are Google Chrome extensions.
Another way to think about this list is a collection of tools, features, resources, and related ways to improve the overall experience of Zoom for teachers.
1. Google Drive for Zoom
With this app, you can transfer your Zoom recordings and transcripts to your Google Drive account.
2. Whiteboarding
The native Zoom whiteboard feature will allow you to share a whiteboard that you and other participants (if allowed) can annotate on.
3. Virtual Backgrounds for Zoom
The Virtual Background feature allows you to display an image or video as your background during a Zoom Meeting. This feature works best with a green screen and uniform lighting to allow Zoom to detect the difference between you and your background. You can also upload your own images or videos as your virtual background and can use Virtual Background in a Zoom Breakout Room as well.
4. Enable or Disable Recording
Depending on the purpose of the Zoom meeting, you may absolutely need it to be recorded or absolutely cannot allow recording. That’s where enabling or disabling recordings come in.
5. Room Polling
According to Zoom, the polling feature for meetings “allows you to create single choice or multiple choice polling questions for your meetings. You will be able to launch the poll during your meeting and gather the responses from your attendees. You also have the ability to download a report of polling after the meeting. Polls can also be conducted anonymously, if you do not wish to collect participant information with the poll results.” This obviously useful for quick-and-easy formative assessment.
6 . Screencastomatic
A third-party tool for capturing any video stream–screencasts, webinars, lectures, office hour consultations, conferences, meetings, etc. There are both free and paid versions and a photo stock library as well.
7. Annotation Tools
While better online whiteboard options exist, if you’re in Zoom and want to stay there, enabling annotation tools (for yourself or viewers) is a useful Zoom tool for teachers and students alike.
8. Wikipedia Search
The Wikipedia Search chat app for Zoom allows you to search for Wikipedia articles directly from your Zoom Chat channels and share them with other users in the channel.
9. Prezi Video
Prezi Video is a visual communication tool where you overlay your visuals on screen next to you, so you can hold more engaging video conferences with students. When you host video meetings with students, you no longer have to choose between sharing the screen or maintaining a personal, human connection for improved engagement. Overlay your visuals directly on screen next to you and experience more engaging, impactful, and interactive Zoom video conferences.
10. Push To Talk
This built-in Zoom features allows you to remain muted throughout your Zoom meeting and hold down the spacebar when you want to be unmuted and talk. This is likely more useful for students than teachers.
11. Waiting Rooms
The Waiting Room feature allows the host to control when a participant joins the meeting. As the meeting host, you can admit attendees one by one, or hold all attendees in the Waiting Room and admit them all at once. You can send all participants to the Waiting Room when joining your meeting, or you can allow participants from your Zoom account and participants at specified domains to bypass the Waiting Room.
You can also customize the waiting room–to clarify the purpose of the room for students, for example.
12. Keyboard Shortcuts For Zoom
While some keyboard shortcuts don’t seem like shortcuts at all, some of the following may actually help your teaching.
13. Translate It
This Zoom app is designed to translate text into different languages though as of publishing time, we haven’t had a chance to test it out.
14. Zoom Scheduler via Google Calendar Chrome Extension
Schedule Zoom meetings directly from Google Calendar with this Google Chrome Extension. (You can find more Best Google Chrome Extensions For Teachers .)
15. Automatically Schedule Meetings (including recurring meetings)
Zoom allows you to schedule meetings with multiple occurrences, so that each occurrence uses the same meeting ID and settings. You can schedule these meetings in daily, weekly, and monthly increments. You can also set a recurring meeting to be used at any time. Meeting IDs for recurring meetings expire 365 days after the meeting was last started.
16. Take attendance with usage reports
If your Zoom meeting has registration or polling enabled, you can generate a registration or polling report for to take attendance or for other documentation requirements. The registration report contains the following information of registered participants:
- First and last name
- Email address
- Date and time of registration
- Approval status
17. Schoology Zoom App
Securely create, manage and launch Zoom meetings from within your Schoology environment.
18. Screen Sharing
Among the most useful tools for Zoom is screen sharing–especially when Zoom is used for training or webinars. Meeting participants can annotate on a shared screen as a viewer or the one that started sharing your screen.
18. Microsoft Teams Zoom App
If you use Microsoft Teams in your classroom, this app allows you to start, schedule, and join Zoom Meetings directly from your Microsoft Team space.
1 9 . Nearpod Zoom App

Guide to the Best Wireless Presenters (Presentation Remotes) for 2023
Disclosure: When you buy something through links on our site, we may earn an affiliate commission.
In both the corporate and educational world, giving presentations is an important part of life. Anything that can help your presentation go smoothly can have a positive effect on your career. Luckily, there’s plenty of technology out there that can help you out in this area. Digital projectors are clearer and easier to see than the models we had available only a few short years ago, and most can now integrate with remote controllers.
Your typical remote controller is nothing more than a button that allows you to advance to the next slide. But there are a few models out there that offer much more control than this. You can start and stop multimedia, go back to a previous slide, or even use a laser pointer to draw attention to specific parts of your presentation. Today, we’re going to be taking a look at the three best presentation remotes on the market.
Canon PR10-G Wireless Presentation Remote
Whether you’re looking for the latest photo gear, a high-quality printer, or powerful business technology, Canon is an excellent choice. They’ve been manufacturing presentation remotes for quite some time now, but the PR10-G is the latest in modern presentation technology.
The Canon PR10-G Wireless Presentation Remote is easy to hold in the hand, but built to withstand a lot of use and abuse. It’s made from injection molded plastic, tastefully designed with a lightly textured pattern that makes it both resistant to scratches and easy to hold. Right where your thumb rests are the easy to push buttons. They use rubber dome actuators that provide a firmer press but won’t wear out with time. At the top you’ve got a handy LCD display. This screen can be used for a variety of reasons. Most people will use it for timing your presentations.
I’m sure we all know how important this is. When rehearsing, it’s easy to set a timeline and stick to it. But once you get in front of people, you find that you’re either spending too much time on one topic, or rushing through the presentation quicker than you expected. With the timer, you’ll be able to find out where you are at with just a quick glance at the face of the display. You can also use the timer to keep track of where you are at in your presentation if you’ve integrated it with video or audio media.
Perhaps the most important feature of any wireless presenter is the control layout. This is one of the many areas where the Canon model really excels. At the top, you’ve got the large button that turns the laser pointer on or off. A partial press will keep the light on as long as it’s held down. But if you depress it all the way, the laser will stay on until pressed a second time.
Below that you’ve got the typical forward and backwards buttons. Below each of those, there are two unique buttons you might not have seen before. The first is the “expand” button. This can be used with both PowerPoint or Keynote to blow up an image, video, or diagram to full size. Press it again to return to the standard size. On the right, you’ve got the start / stop button that can trigger playback of multimedia.
Compatibility
The Canon PR10-G is designed to work straight out of the box with Apple’s Keynote or Microsoft’s PowerPoint. You won’t need to go through any complicated setup procedure, just unpack it and start using it.
The biggest issue with compatibility is range. Presentation remotes often have to choose between standard Bluetooth, or Wi-Fi direct. Bluetooth is the most compatible of all standards, but suffers from short range. Wi-Fi direct works only with modern devices, but supports a longer range. Canon found a creative solution for this problem. Their remote comes bundled with a high-powered Bluetooth transceiver that plugs into the USB port on any Mac or Windows computer. This allows them to use a higher-powered setting that isn’t supported by all devices. The end result is a huge 100-foot range, allowing the remote to be used in even the largest presentation rooms.
Even without drivers, the presentation remote can be used with any Windows computer from Vista SP2 and up. This means that Windows 7, 8, and 10 all work out of the box. Mac OS 10.5 and up are supported, meaning that the remote will work with any Intel based Mac released in the last 11 years.
The stand out feature of this remote is the powerful green laser. This laser pointer might look a little different from the standard red ones, but it’s up to 8 times brighter than the red wavelength. This means that even in the brightest most well-illuminated room, you’ll have no problem drawing attention to the most important parts of your presentation.
Another great feature of canons presentation remote is the vibration feature. You can easily set notifications at various points throughout your presentations to help keep you on track. It will automatically vibrate one, five, or ten minutes before the end to remind you to wrap things up. You can also set the timer to vibrate at any other point, as needed.
Kensington Wireless Presenter
If the name rings a bell, it’s because Kensington is known primarily for their high-quality laptop security devices. The Kensington lock is generally accepted as being one of the locks on the market. Their remote presenter goes hand in hand with these locks, as you’ll often want to keep your notebook safe while you give your presentation.
The incredibly compact Kensington Wireless Presenter is designed to be simple and easy to use. While it’s not the most attractive of the bunch, you might be surprised to learn that it’s actually very comfortable to hold in the hand. Its strong curves fit with the curves of your hand, meaning that you’re not going to get uncomfortable even when you’re using it for long periods of time. Aside from the four buttons on the face, there isn’t really a whole lot of extras on this presentation remote. But the one thing we did really like was the USB port on the bottom. This can be used to charge the remote, but also provides a handy storage space for the USB receiver when not in use.
The control scheme with this remote is simple, but still highly effective. The two buttons that you’ll use the most, the forward and backward buttons, are located on either side of the main section. On the opposite orientation, you’ve got the play and stop buttons. The main difference between this button and some of the more advanced models is that each one serves a single purpose.
For example, Canon combined the play and stop buttons. If your media is currently playing, then the button will stop it, and vice versa. But this can create confusion in presentations where there are multiple media types, or if you change slides without stopping the previous media. To avoid any awkward mistakes, many presenters will prefer this simple control scheme.
The Kensington Wireless Presenter decided to go for a high bandwidth method of communication to offer solid range without dropouts. Running on the 2.4 Ghz frequency, it requires that a USB dongle be used with your computer. This transceiver can be used with Windows 7, 8, and 10 PCs. It can also work with OSX systems from 10.6 and up. It works with Microsoft PowerPoint out of the box, but the drivers allow you to map the buttons to the keyboard. With a few quick clicks, you can set it up to control any presentation software you like.
Logitech R800 Professional Presenter
We’ve reviewed Logitech’s accessories many times before, and not once have we come across one that disappoints us. While their professional wireless presenter is much larger than some, the impressive range of included features makes this presenter just as powerful as it is large.
The Logitech R800 Professional Presenter is ergonomically designed to be comfortable to hold in the hand, and keeps all of your most important features easily accessible from the face. But aside from the standard controls, you’ve got access to a powerful LCD display on the face that performs much of the same features as the Canon model. It can help you keep track of how long you’ve bene presenting for, how long you’ve spent on a particular slide, or show you a countdown to a specific time.
The controls are quite similar to those on the Canon. You’ve got the forward and backward buttons for navigating between slides, the full screen button for expanding visual aids, and the play button to start and stop embedded media. But the unique feature on this remote is the programmable button located just below the display. You can configure this button to set any particular element you like, giving you a little more control over your presentation.
This wireless remote presenter is compatible with a wide range of Windows PCs, starting from Windows 7 and going up to the latest release of Windows 10. It uses the same wireless technology as the Cannon, requiring a dongle but giving you up to 100 ft (30 meters) of range.
The Logitech R800 Professional Presenter has a couple of features we’ve seen before, but are happy to see included. It’s got the timed vibration feature, which we found to be a little easier to use than the Canon model. The timer is set from the included features, and gives you a ton of control over how and when the timer goes off. You can set different types of vibrations for different alarms. For example, short pulses can signify an impending time limit, or long ones can remind you to move on to the next slide.
Another great feature of this remote is the same high powered green laser pointer we liked so much. Once you use such a bright pointer it’s unlikely that you’ll want to go back to the basic model.
Which Wireless Remote Presenter is Right for Me?
Not sure which one is right for your business? For most users, we’re recommend the Canon PR10-G . This remote is fully compatible with both Windows and Mac operating systems, and gives you plentiful controls and a powerful laser.
You might also want to consider the Logitech R800 Professional Presenter . This model adds a powerful timing system that lets you make the most of the built-in vibration feature.
Finally, there will be a few people who just need something simple for their presentations. In this case, you can’t go wrong with the Kensington Wireless Presenter . It’s affordable, easy to use, and reliable. If this is all you need, there is no sense is spending money on a high-end model.

2 thoughts on “Guide to the Best Wireless Presenters (Presentation Remotes) for 2023”
I am seeking a presenter which is compatible with Corel software on a PC running Windows 10. I will appreciate any comments or suggestions. Thank you.
Thank you for the great reviews. I am currently using a Kensington Presenter Pro that has been good for me for quite some time now. I like the size and the button layouts; the range is wonderful; and the green laser is plenty bright. That all said, the one thing that drives me mad is the clicking sounds of the buttons. How on earth did the design team feel this was okay. During a quiet part of a presentation when I’m not talking, but still advancing slides, this is completely distracting.
You did not happen to mention if any of these above have silent ‘soft touch’ buttons. I think the Canon might, but not sure. Can you please confirm which ones do and which ones don’t.
Thank you. Cheers! Kevin

How to use AI to create a PowerPoint presentation
Using AI to create a PowerPoint presentation involves leveraging tools and technologies that can automate certain aspects of the presentation creation process. Here’s a general guide on how to use AI to create a PowerPoint presentation.
- Text generation : Use natural language processing (NLP) models to generate text content for your slides. GPT-3 or similar models can help create coherent and contextually relevant content. OpenAI’s API or other NLP APIs can be integrated for this purpose.
- Data analysis : If your presentation involves data, consider using AI tools to analyze and interpret data. Tools like Microsoft Excel have built-in features for data analysis, and you can use Python libraries like Pandas and Matplotlib for more advanced data processing.
- Image selection : AI algorithms can assist in selecting relevant and high-quality images for your slides. Tools like Google’s Vision AI or Adobe Stock can help in image recognition and recommendation.
- Design assistance : Some tools, like Beautiful.ai, use AI to suggest design layouts and color schemes based on the content you input. They can automate the design process to make your slides visually appealing.
- Speech-to-text : Utilize speech-to-text technology to convert spoken words into written text. You can use this for creating speaker notes or captions for your slides. Google’s Speech-to-Text API is an example of a service that can perform this task.
- Language translation : If your audience speaks different languages, AI translation services can help you translate your presentation content. Google Translate API is an example of a tool that provides this functionality.
- Grammar and spell check : AI-powered proofreading tools like Grammarly or ProWritingAid can assist in ensuring your text is free of grammatical errors and spelling mistakes.
- Content outline : Use AI to generate an outline or structure for your presentation based on the key points you want to cover. This can help in organizing your thoughts before creating the actual slides.
Remember that while AI can automate certain aspects of the presentation creation process, it’s essential to review and customize the content to ensure it aligns with your specific needs and audience.

Before diving head first into assembling your slides, there are a series of creative best practices and presentation ideas that will help you get started without PowerPoint. Here are a few of them:
- We remember 10% of what we read, 20% of what we hear, 30% of what we see, 50% of what we listen to, and look at 70% of what we say and 90% of what we do. So, if you really want to be unforgettable, you have to make your audience take action .
- Data and statistics can help you build trust and credibility, sure, but emotional communication is what will really ensure engagement.
- Rely on videos, gifs, interactive infographics, external content, and interactivity with pop-up windows to give movement and dynamism to your slides.
- It has been demonstrated that our brain lights up like a Christmas tree when we’re listening to stories. Leverage this in your presentation by using more storytelling .
- It’s ok to be creative, but when it comes to fonts, it’s better to pick an elegant, simple, and readable font. Avoid handwritten or script typefaces and go for something that everybody can read without getting a headache.
- Remember: One slide, one idea, one sentence . Avoid long paragraphs and texts with small fonts because if your audience is focused on reading, they won’t be able to listen to what you’re saying.
- Fantasy and textured backgrounds are cool, but they’re also the greatest enemies of easy reading. Instead, go for white or solid color backgrounds .
- Apply the 5x7x7 rule . Titles shall be no longer than 5 words. Paragraphs shall not use more than 7 lines. Lines shall not be constituted by more than 7 words.
- Numbered lists are more likely to catch your audience’s attention than regular bullet points.
- You are the number 1 visual element of your presentation.
When you have all this figured out, you can go ahead and start drafting your presentation!

The 6 Best Live Polling Tools to Engage your Audience
The best way to engage your group in a live meeting or event (while not wasting valuable time) is to make it interactive — let your people participate. Live polling is one way to do this, and is proven to increase audience engagement. Here are the 6 best tools online to ask poll questions / run interactive polls, whether you're on a video call, in person in a meeting, or in front of an audience in a conference room.
See our video with reviews and screengrabs of each tool, or get to the written list below.
1. Slides with Friends
Slides With Friends is a great all-around interactive presentation solution, and is one of the frontrunners in our list of audience polling tools. It comes with pretty much everything you'd need to create and run live polls, then collect instant feedback. Players join on their mobile device with a QR code scan or custom URL (so, no downloads needed), and easily send in answers, emoji, sounds, and more, during your event or meetings real time.
Biggest Slides With Friends advantages: Accessibility, Thoughtful pre-made templates, Good design, Robust free account
This tool works wherever you can share your screen, so you can use it on Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Webex, or in a conference room.
It also comes with tons of free and ready-to-use game templates: think of them like Kahoot decks or Jackbox games that you can edit any way you like, and then play with your group. This takes away a lot of the work you’d have to do to create your own content from scratch. Just pick a template that meets your needs and play during your online meetings!
For instance, here's a "Poll the Audience" Template you can use (it's free with up to 10 players). You can edit the questions on each slide to ask your group exactly what you want.
Biggest Disadvantage: Downloadable CSV for event results only available on upgraded accounts
The ability to analyze complex data in relation to the polls taken during repeated training sessions or seminars can be enlightening and help you improve your presentation for future events.
Sli.do is one of the more basic slideshow presentation platforms with polling for your audience. It allows for brainstorming with a word cloud or Q&A as well, but little else. This platform offers a very basic free option, as well as three other annually billed subscription levels to meet the needs of small to medium-large companies or non-profits. The Enterprise package is particularly impressive (but comes with a hefty price tag).
Biggest advantage: Comprehensive analytics tools
Sli.do is particularly helpful for larger organizations with frequent training and team building due to unparalleled comprehensive analytics tools. You can review Q&As, which participants led the group in responding, see all of your polls at a glance, and easily create infographics from multiple choice questions.
Biggest disadvantage: Limited interesting or connective uses
Sli.do can be a dry and survey-only forward tool. If you want to wow your audience, or seem like you put a ton of work (when you really didn’t) into an interactive presentation, this tool is a little lacking.
3. Poll Everywhere
Poll Everywhere is an interactive application that can be implemented almost anywhere, anytime. For instance this is the only platform here that integrates with Slack on this list.
This service is designed to scale up as you grow your audience. It offers the most subscription options starting at low fees for small meetings and reaching up to a $12,000 per year Enterprise plan. The Teams and Enterprise options are on the expensive side, although they are feature rich.
The biggest advantage: Best free and start-up packages for live polls
The free version gives you more features than others listed, starting with a 25-attendee roster (compared to 7 to 10 participants with other apps). It also lets you add polls and unlimited real time questions.
If you have a single meeting or seminar, a cheaper one-time live polling and presentation plan rich with more poll features is available.
The biggest disadvantage: Free and “Present” live polling options very limited in features
None of the free live polling tools include analytics or moderation capabilities, but Poll Everywhere's lower-level paid version doesn't offer them either. You must pay for the more expensive “Engage” option for these features, regardless of the size of your business and the frequency of your events.
4. Aha Slides
Aha Slides is one of the most affordable live polling services, and they offer a lot of perks that aren’t available with more expensive options.
The free version is the most limiting of the services listed here, but the features of the Essential and Plus plans are affordable options for freelancers and solo entrepreneurs running a small meeting. You can pay one-time, or you can subscribe for holding regular online or in-person events.
Even large companies can take advantage of this affordability when detailed analytics and sharing is not necessary, with the upper level service accepting up to 10,000 attendees.
The biggest advantage: Idea sharing and other interactive features
In addition to live polls and brainstorming word clouds, Aha also offers sliding scales, idea sharing, multiple choice, and even a spinner wheel for a variety of attendee participation that encompasses all types of learners.
The biggest disadvantage: Only basic analytics and presentation options
Aha Slides is one of the easier live polling platform to learn and use to create, but that simplicity means that you don’t have a lot of the same advanced features offered by other polling tools listed here.
5. Mentimeter
Mentimeter issuper-featured and filled with lots of options. This makes it powerful, but also kind of tough to figure out / get an immediate understanding of. It's also a bit pricier than others given all of its integrations and features.
The biggest advantage: Language accessibility for a global workplace
Mentimeter has a tool that allows for multiple translations within the same live presentation. This means that you can reach anyone in the world and still get the same audience participation that you receive in your hometown.
The biggest disadvantage: No automatically generated reports
While you can export data from your surveys, Q&As, and live polls, Mentimeter differs from other services in that you can export raw info, but the platform doesn’t generate reports for you. This makes the analytics information less helpful.
Vevox is one of the more expensive tools that includes live polling and other interactive features to keep your participants engaged. Unlike the other tools here, you can gather all types of anonymous feedback and surveys to help you improve future presentations.
Vevox is unique in that it doesn’t have different service levels. Although a free option is available to get you started, the paid version is the same for everyone. An individual plan is $50 per month, with the Enterprise plan giving you a $5 discount per user.
The biggest advantage: Most comprehensive free version
Vevox offers one of the best free versions, although it is only available for use with PowerPoint and Microsoft Teams. it allows an astounding 500 participants, and the only features excluded in the free subscription are analytics and reporting.
The biggest disadvantage: Works best with Microsoft products
While you can use Vevox’s polling applications in other environments, it was really designed for use with Microsoft products, including Windows, PowerPoint, and Ms Teams. Those integrations are seamless, but using the service with other platforms may be more complicated.
Real Time Polling Can Increase Audience Enjoyment
Experts agree that active participation increases the enjoyment of your audience and retention of your information.
"Incorporating the right type of online real-time polling ... has overriding benefits." Journal of Research in Innovative Teaching & Learning, "Real-time polling to help corral university-learners' wandering minds"
Regardless of what platform you choose, there is no doubt that live polling is a useful tool to keep an audience engaged. Like several of these options, your remote participants often do not need to download an app to see your screen on their phone or tablet, which makes this a very easy way to collect information.
Collecting data about particular attendees, including their responses to particular questions, is especially useful for training programs in which you need to measure performance and knowledge. At the same time, anonymous feedback is vital and not offered by all packages. Consider carefully how you will use the live poll tools to help you determine which is best for you.
The Best Choice for Live Polling
Our choice for the best live polling tool is Slides With Friends . It's got great live polling options and is easy to get started with and use, you can even use it for free with up to 10 players.
Some things you can do using SlidesWith:
- Poll your audience with different options to display rating poll results like graphs, donut charts, per-responder (run multiple polls, add images, get real time results)
- Play trivia or quiz your audience
- Create a live word cloud together (your audience sends in words and then votes to make words bigger)
- Everyone votes on responses from other audience members (like Apples to Apples or Cards Against Humanity)
- Live Photo share (Add images and display to the group)

The 7 best Zoom alternatives in 2024
Video meetings via Zoom used to be the norm—at least they were for me. Then I started teaching virtually at my local college and learned that wasn't the case for everyone. Turns out, Zoom doesn't check every box for every team.
We've spent a lot of time testing video call apps at Zapier, and based on that experience—and making sure we have something for everyone—here are the seven best Zoom alternatives to host your next video call.
The best Zoom alternatives
Why do you need a zoom alternative.
Zoom makes it easy to connect with anyone from anywhere—so why the need for an alternative?
What makes the best Zoom alternative?
There are plenty of consumer-facing video chat apps on the market—for example, Apple's FaceTime or WhatsApp's video calls—but they don't come close to rivaling Zoom for everyday business needs.
Instead, the best Zoom competitors:
Deliver high-definition video and audio consistently . If a web conferencing platform has one job, this is it.
Make it easy to initiate, plan, and participate in meetings . Ideally, meetings can be quickly scheduled and added to your calendar, complete with one-click links to join the call.
Simplify the process of adding people outside your team . Participants should be able to click a link to join your meeting with little added fuss. But there should also be security features to prevent uninvited guests from attending.
To understand how these capabilities in Zoom alternatives stacked up, I relied on my own experiences, along with the experiences of the Zapier team as they tested them for other articles (or, you know, for fun).

Webex Meetings pros :
Delivers consistently reliable, high-quality video and audio
Advanced collaboration tools, including a whiteboard and document markup
Webex Meetings cons :
Free plan has limited access to practical features like closed captions, post-meeting transcripts, and phone dial-in
Some users have reported stability issues
If you tried Webex Meetings a couple of years ago, it's worth another go. It's been completely overhauled, and it's now easily one of the best Zoom alternatives out there.
Immediately after you join a meeting, the video quality is obvious: everyone looks and sounds better on this platform—both in terms of image and sound quality, and in terms of stability.
Add Cisco Webex Meetings to Google Calendar

Webex pricing : Free plan includes 40-minute meetings with up to 100 people and basic features like screen sharing and local video recordings; from $12/license/month (billed annually) for Webex Starter, which includes meetings up to 24 hours long with up to 150 attendees, and advanced features like closed captions, meeting highlights, and live polling.

Google Meet pros :
Deep integration with Google Workspace apps
Google Meet cons :
Limited meeting management features like password-protected meetings
Doesn't degrade calls as gracefully as Zoom
Another catch: in our experience, Meet isn't as good as Zoom at downgrading calls when the internet connection slows. But you can work around this by switching participants to view-only mode.

Microsoft Teams pros :
Video quality is great and works with large calls
Microsoft Teams cons :
Inviting people outside your organization is not as seamless as Zoom
Interface is cluttered with a lot of extra features
Inviting people outside of your organization to a Teams meeting? It's easy to do, though not as seamless as Zoom. But expect a few hiccups if someone doesn't already have the app installed.
Send chat messages in Microsoft Teams for new Jotform submissions
Send messages to Microsoft Teams channels for new Typeform entries
Microsoft Teams pricing : Starts at $4/user/month (billed annually) for just Teams; from $6/user/month for Microsoft 365 Business Basic, which includes Teams. Copilot Pro Business starts at an additional $30/user/month.

CoScreen pros:
Lightweight and simple, with intuitive screen share controls
Generous free plan
CoScreen cons:
No custom area screen share selection
Both participants and hosts need to download the desktop app
Available only as a desktop app, CoScreen is super lightweight and simple. When you start or join a session, you can choose to turn on voice calls, video conferencing, both, or neither. You can opt to share your entire screen or choose from multiple displays. Hover over any window or app on your screen, and a yellow Share button appears—click it once, and you're in business.
CoScreen pricing : Free to sign up and use with up to 10 participants at a time; from $20/user/month for Enterprise, which includes team accounts, single sign-on, and early access to new features.

Jitsi pros:
Free and open source; no account required
Good video quality
Jitsi cons:
Not as feature-rich as other options
Occasionally laggy
If you want to create a frictionless, no-frills meeting experience for attendees, Jitsi will do the trick. You don't need to create an account to start—just head to the site, generate a link, and share the link with everyone you want on the call. Likewise, attendees don't need to create an account to join.
The video quality is good, not great, and you can't expect advanced features like transcriptions or AI integrations. There are a few nice touches, though: a GIF search feature not only adds the GIF to the chat but also briefly replaces your video feed with the GIF, which makes for some chaotic fun. There's also screen sharing and polling built in, so you have the basics of any good video conferencing app covered.

GoTo Meeting pros :
Easy recording and unlimited cloud storage at an affordable price
Meeting transcription available
GoTo Meeting cons :
Audio and video quality is great, but choppier on slower networks
App integrations aren't accessible during calls
GoTo Meeting offers a lot of the same video conferencing features as Zoom, like chat, Q&A, an AI meeting assistant, and security controls. But when you compare apples to apples, Zoom outperforms GoTo Meeting in every category. Because of that, it wouldn't have made this list except for one key feature: cloud storage.
Users on at least a Business plan get access to unlimited cloud storage (though the limits of common sense apply since the team monitors cloud storage use). Compared to Zoom, GoTo Meeting gives you the best bang for your buck on this front. It's worth mentioning that recordings are available for only 365 days, so be sure to download the most important ones before they disappear.
GoTo Meeting offers a good range of native integrations. For example, you can start a meeting right from Slack. It's worth mentioning that you can't actually interact with any of these apps directly during the call.
Create meetings on GoTo Meeting for new YouCanBook.Me bookings
Add new detailed events to Google Calendar for new GoTo Meeting meetings
GoTo Meeting pricing : Free plan includes 40-minute meetings with up to 3 participants; from $16/month/user (billed annually) for the Business plan, which includes up to 250 participants, unlimited cloud recording, and Smart Meeting Assistant.

Discord pros :
Easy to set up
Free to use with access to all the necessary features
Discord cons :
Prone to downtime
File uploads are limited to 25 MB in the free version
Send new YouTube videos in Discord channel messages

Other Zoom alternatives
There are plenty of Zoom alternatives on the market—more than we could possibly list here. But that doesn't mean they don't all have unique features to bring to the table. If none of the apps listed above quite satisfy your must-haves, here are some other options you can explore.
Find the right Zoom alternative for you
Communication is at the core of every business, but you can't communicate effectively without the right tools—or if meeting participants keep dropping off.
And what's "right" will vary depending on things like the size of your team and what kind of content you need to share. Your best bet to finding the right Zoom alternative is to test a few from this list—most offer free plans—and pick the one that meets your needs.

The Best Teleprompter Apps for Zoom
There are a lot of apps out there to help professionals remain on track and exude confidence. Many of these are focused on mobile editing for videos, editing, and tracking audience engagement. But for those looking to impress in their next meeting, the must app to have is a teleprompter app.
Why Use a Teleprompter App With Zoom?
When you’re attending a Zoom meeting, it’s hard to know what to do. When it’s your turn to speak, you want to sound professional and prepared, but you can easily find yourself at a loss for words during your part of a presentation. Using a teleprompter allows you to prepare for your part of the presentation. Never be at a loss for words and win back your confidence with a teleprompter. However, not all of these apps are created equal. That’s why we’re going to look at the top 5 iOS teleprompter apps to use with Zoom.
The Top 5 iOS Teleprompter Apps to Use With Zoom
1. Teleprompter
Teleprompter is great for solving the most common problems people have with Zoom meetings. Having a reliable script lets you avoid talking too fast or forgetting important points in your presentations. With Teleprompter, you can pace yourself and reduce the anxiety of virtual meetings.
- Easy to Use
- Quick set up
- Good for beginners and pros
- Bluetooth control
- 4k Recording
- Works alongside professional cameras
- Short Trial
- $9.99/ month.
This is a friendly app for beginners and experts with an easy-to-use interface. Between the mirroring options and peripheral options, it’s everything you could want in a teleprompter app. However, the cost means the user needs the consistent level of use of a dedicated Youtube creator to be cost-effective.
Prompt+ is an app that can work on iPad and Mac. It offers users multiple options for how they control the auto-scroll of the teleprompter including keyboards and foot pedals.
- Bluetooth presentation remote capability
- Pairs with other iOS devices
- Configurable script text
- Multiple reviews report a less-than-helpful support team
- Awkward user interface
- Even margins require awkward centered text.
Prompt+ provides a simple teleprompter that is excellent for Zoom presentations. However, reviewers report frequent bugs such as voice scrolling failing when the external microphone activates. Provided you use an external microphone, you’ll be able to maintain a natural flow with your script without having to pause when you answer questions during meetings.
3. PromptSmartPro
The PromptSmartPro offers in-app settings for camera functions such as auto-exposure and tap-to-focus for content creation. Which makes it an excellent all-around tool. However, it shines when paired with Zoom. VoiceTracking technology uses your voice to control and improvise your script on the fly rather than relying on an auto-scrolling script.
- VoiceTracking
- Delete Scripts in bulk
- English Only
- Large App Size
- Short Trial Period
This app offers an impressive array of features - most of all with VoiceTracking technology. This voice tracking is particularly useful when paired with Zoom presentations. It allows you to stop your script by simply stopping your speech. This way you can field questions and improvise in the middle of your presentations for a more natural delivery. The only downside is that some users report that the voice recognition software often fails without a clear cause.
3. Prompt Smart Lite
PromptSmart Lite offers a free teleprompter app alternative to PromptSmartPro. This application offers speech recognition like its big, paid-for brother. Additionally, the pared-down features are better for a Zoom user looking for a simple teleprompter solution.
- Easy to edit documents in the app
- Font size variation available
- Customer support in a message-based format.
- Huge download size compared to functionality
- Incompatible with iOS devices before 11.
This app lacks a lot of the bells and whistles of the pro version we discussed earlier. However, it is a good option for presentations with less than 5,000 words and users who would like to explore VoiceTrack technology for free.
Vodium’s team says its goal is to empower users to be the best communicators they can be, which it achieves effectively. Vodium allows users to utilize an adjustable, transparent slider so they have control over your script as you keep the appearance of eye contact on Zoom.
- Teleprompter screen offers adjustable transparency
- Save scripts for future use
- No free option
- Slightly overpriced at $15 a month
Vodium provides users with a solution to create comprehensive presentations and allow space to engage their audience. However, despite offering a quality service, this teleprompter app may not be worth the cost for casual users.
This application comes with an in-built composer, making it a good option for the content creator on the go. Plus, it includes chroma-key filter functionality to allow greenscreen background filters to change your background in Zoom.
- Easily Change scrolling speed
- Options to boost audio levels

How to Use Teleprompter Apps Effectively on Zoom
A. Tips for Seamless Integration
Integrating a Zoom teleprompter app seamlessly into your presentations requires careful planning and execution. Here are some tips to ensure a smooth experience:
- Pre-Testing: Before your actual Zoom meeting, run a few tests to ensure that the teleprompter app and Zoom are working harmoniously. Check for any compatibility issues and address them beforehand.
- Synchronization: Make sure the teleprompter speed aligns with your speaking pace. Adjust the settings to create a natural flow, allowing you to maintain eye contact and engage with your audience effectively.
- Dual-Monitor Setup: Consider using a dual-monitor setup, where the teleprompter app is on one screen and your Zoom call is on the other. This prevents you from looking away from the camera and maintains a professional appearance.

- Rehearse Regularly: Practice using the virtual teleprompter for Zoom in various scenarios to build confidence. Familiarity with the tool will help you focus on your message rather than the technology.

- Adjusting Speed: Experiment with different speeds until you find the one that complements your speaking style. The goal is to create a seamless and polished delivery without sounding rushed or hesitant.
C. Troubleshooting Common Issues during Zoom Calls
- Internet Connection: Ensure a stable internet connection to prevent lag or disruptions. Consider using a wired connection if possible, and have a backup plan in case of unexpected outages.
- Software Updates: Regularly update both the teleprompter app and Zoom to access the latest features and bug fixes. Compatibility issues often arise when using outdated versions of software.
- Technical Support: Familiarize yourself with the teleprompter app's customer support options. Having quick access to assistance can be invaluable if technical issues arise during a crucial presentation.

A. tools to enhance video and audio quality.
- High-Quality Webcam: Invest in a good webcam to ensure clear and crisp video quality. A high-resolution camera can significantly enhance your overall virtual presence.
- External Microphone: For improved audio clarity, consider using an external microphone. It reduces background noise and ensures your message is delivered with professional sound quality.
B. Best Practices for Creating Engaging Presentations
- Visual Elements: Incorporate visuals such as slides, charts, and graphics to complement your spoken words. Visual aids keep your audience engaged and help convey complex information effectively.
- Interactive Features: Use Zoom's interactive features, such as polls and Q&A sessions, to engage your audience actively. Encourage participation to create a dynamic and collaborative virtual environment.
C. Importance of a Well-Prepared Script
- Clear Structure: Craft a well-organized script with a clear introduction, body, and conclusion. This structure helps you convey your message coherently and ensures your audience follows along effortlessly.

The benefits of using your laptop as a teleprompter on Zoom
You can speak naturally.
You can speak more naturally with a teleprompter than you can with physical notes because you can glance at the camera or group of people in front of you instead of looking down at your notes. Maintaining eye contact helps bring a sense of connection back to virtual meetings. Your head will gradually move from left to right as you read from the screen, allowing you to speak evenly to everyone in the Zoom meeting. In addition, a teleprompter solves another prevalent issue. When reading from notes, you must frequently look up in order to engage with the Zoom audience and appear more genuine. However, you are more likely to lose your position and say unwanted phrases or halt awkwardly if you do so. When you read from a screen instead, you are able to stay on track with your speech while still connecting with your audience.
Teleprompters allow for more precise wording
You can keep better precision than if you read from notes or try to remember what to say off the top of your head since you can read your script without losing your position. This advantage could be crucial in situations when the precision of your statements is critical. Legal and budget presentations, for example, frequently necessitate precision.
You can concentrate on your nonverbal communication.
Nonverbal clues are frequently just as essential as what you say out loud in Zoom meetings. You may focus more of your attention on exhibiting the correct non-verbal clues to make your speech as impactful as possible when you know what you’re going to say and don’t have to worry about forgetting it. Furthermore, without notes, your hands are free to emphasise key points in your Zoom presentation.
Your Professionalism Will Grow
It is critical to appear professional when speaking persuasively on Zoom. Without scribbled notes or awkward pauses to distract your audience, you can exude professionalism and confidence, emphasising your expertise. Your audience will trust you more if you appear well-dressed and confident in yourself.
Teleprompters Help You Save Time
You can spend less time memorising your speech if you use this technology. That time could be better spent improving other aspects of your performance.
You Have More Control Over Your Image
The right speed is required to set the tone of your speech and ensure that your audience understands you. You can use the ability to modify the speed of your script to set a pace that is appropriate for your presentation. You can also better control your pauses and intensity in your speech. If you need to make a long presentation, a teleprompter may be the ideal tool to help you provide your finest performance. Because of the new affordable applications, you may now access an easy-to-use teleprompter that can help you moderate your voice and better engage with your audience.

From the President of the USA to Jeff Bezos, successful people use teleprompters to give speeches that seem impromptu. You can use the same trick to remember your lines with these free teleprompter apps.
We seem to be spending so much time talking to cameras these days, whether it's for a little shoot for our social media or a presentation in a Zoom meeting. Instead of remembering your speeches or writing little flashcards, use a teleprompter.
As the text scrolls next to your camera, it will seem like you're talking to the audience while you have the comfort of simply reading so that you don't forget any lines. Here are some of the best teleprompter tools you can use.
1. Teleprompter Mirror
Teleprompter Mirror is a fantastic web-based online teleprompter app that works entirely in your browser, on computers, or phones. It's one of those excellent no-signup web apps that you can start using immediately but is nonetheless packed with features.
Copy and paste your text into the main window to begin. You can adjust the font size, the scrolling speed, the margin, and the text and background colors. If you've got it set up exactly how you want it, save the script file to use it later. It couldn't be simpler.
Teleprompter Mirror also has a sister site, Voice Activated Teleprompter . This works with Chrome on desktop and mobile, as it listens to what you speak and moves the script forward accordingly. In our test, it worked well enough for amateurs, but there are better apps for this. That said, this one doesn't require any signups nor has any trial restrictions, so what have you got to lose in giving it a shot?
You can also use Teleprompter Mirror on a screen with any professional rig too, as it features vertical flip and horizontal flip. With professional rigs, you need to flip the text to mirror it on a screen over the camera.
2. SpeakFlow
For voice-activated teleprompters that scroll the text based on what you read, SpeakFlow is another excellent online teleprompter, and even has a few professional-level features. The free web app works in your browser, so you can use it on any device after registering.
SpeakFlow has two modes: Flow mode to scroll as you speak each word and Auto mode to scroll at a preset pace. It picked up our voice with unerring accuracy, in multiple accents. You can also add instructions and stage directions by wrapping words in brackets. The teleprompter won't wait for you to say such bracketed words in Flow Mode.
That said, there are some restrictions in the free version. Any serious video-maker might want to go for the premium version, which includes additional features like remote control (where someone else can scroll the text for you from another synced device), mirrored text, bookmarking, and version control.
3. Speechway
Teleprompter apps on phones are a little different. Sure, they can be used as standalone prompters next to a dedicated camera, but often, you'll be using the front camera of the phone itself for a video call or to shoot your selfie video for social media. Apps like Speechway overlay a teleprompter on the screen while you're doing that.
Speechway has three modes: classic, camera, and widget. The classic mode turns your phone into a dedicated teleprompter rig to be used with a camera. Camera mode uses the camera within the app, while widget mode overlays your script as a widget on any app for live-streaming or recording.
The widget mode is the most interesting one. You can adjust the widget's position and size anywhere on the screen (keeping it closer to the camera is better, as you look as if you're talking into the camera). Adjust the speed and size of the text freely, and go through all the various options to customize it. Adjusting opacity, font style, and font color are premium options.
The scripts themselves are easy to make, especially since you can import files from Google Docs or any TXT or DOC file on your Android. Speechway lets you turn your script into "pages" for easier breaks, add cue points (like bookmarks), and save the script to reuse for later. The app works fantastically well and can even be controlled with Bluetooth keyboards or other third-party accessories.

4. Video Teleprompter
Unlike Android, you can't get widgets overlaid on any third-party app using a camera on an iPhone or iPad, so you'll need a video recorder app with a teleprompter. There are plenty of paid options, but the lite version of Video Teleprompter is good enough for most people.
The text box automatically orients itself next to the camera in both portrait and landscape mode. Unfortunately, you can't import scripts, but copy-paste works perfectly, and you can add cue points. Video Teleprompter also has a countdown timer before starting the video, which is a small but crucial feature to make more professional-looking videos.
One big turn-off with the free version is that it adds a watermark to all videos; you'll need to upgrade to Pro ($16.99 one-time purchase) for watermark-free videos, script importing, keyboard and Apple Watch control, and rich text export.
Importantly, Video Teleprompter does the basics well. Your videos look good, the audio sounds excellent, and it always seems like you're looking at the camera. That's what matters most.

5. PromptSmart
PromptSmart is the of the best teleprompter apps when it comes to voice recognition technology. The teleprompter works by scrolling down along with your voice. When you pause midway, the app replicates it by pausing the scroll-down and then resuming again when you start speaking.
The tool works on both Windows and Mac and offers Android and iOS apps. A few other features that caught our attention include:
- A free, in-built word process to type out and edit your scripts.
- VoiceTrack scrolling supports four languages: English, Spanish, German, Russian, and French.
- Control your presentation from the web browser (for the web app version).
- Cloud sync features let you sync your script from the web to your PromptSmart mobile apps.
It offers a 'lite' version, which gives you a free version for Android and iOS versions. And although PromptSmart doesn’t offer a free version for it's full features, it gives you a 7-day free trial that lets you use all of them from its different paid tiers. If you like the app, you can then buy the Starter or Team pack, which will cost you about $99.99/year and $199.99/year, respectively.

6. How to Make a DIY Teleprompter for Free or Less Than $5
If you use a dedicated camera to shoot your videos, then you can buy a teleprompter kit for $100 or make your own DIY kit for free by upscaling old items. It's surprisingly simple. Here's what you'll need:
- An old photo frame with a glass cover
- A file folder
- Electrical tape
- Protractor or ruler
- Wire hanger or Binder Clips or almost anything you have lying around
The process is to get the glass cover out of the frame, cut a hole in one side of the folder, and stick the glass there with electrical tape. Then, open up the folder so that the glass is at a 45-degree angle. Set it in place using the hanger, clips, or get creative with any material you have that ensures the folder stays in place at that angle.
That's it; you have a simple teleprompter ready to go. You can watch Roger Hansen's video above to see clear instructions for the whole process in action, or this improvised teleprompter by Joanna Gryzewska that can change angles. A quick search on the web will show you several other ways to make a DIY teleprompter, as it's one of the best tried-and-tested DIY camera hacks.
Learn to Write for a Teleprompter
These apps and tutorials will get you ready to use a teleprompter, but don't forget the most important part: the script. Writing a script for a teleprompter is different from writing a document.
There are several tips to keep in mind, such as writing words instead of numbers; for example, ten thousand instead of 10,000 so that you don't accidentally read it as one thousand in the heat of live recording. Practice and rehearse until you find a pace and diction that works for you. It'll help you tailor all future scripts to your style.
